COMMAND CRAFT CREW

THE COMMANDERS

Male Commander

Female Commander

COMMAND CRAFT OFFICERS

Tommy Brooks
Flight Officer

The Flight Officer, FO, is responsible for flying the ship and is simulated when the shipís autopilot is activated.  If the Navigation Officer plots a course, the FO will use the computed waypoints to take the ship to the plotted destination.  The higher the FOís AI is, the better his flight and evasive skills.

Lanna Kasugi

Navigation Officer

The Navigation Officer, NO, has the task of knowing exactly where the ship is and for plotting courses across the galaxy.  She will use the destination computed in the Navitron computer to plot waypoints for the Flight Officer to use in reaching the destination.  If she is not on-station, then it's impossible to set nav points in Navitron.  A very low AI will result in erroneous courses and sometimes she will not even know how to plot the course.  In fact if her AI is less than 35, then there is a 1 in 5 chance that the nav point will be set incorrectly, resulting in an improper course plot in the NID.

Sandy Crane
Communications Officer

The Comms Officer, CMO, is responsible for monitoring all internal and external communications on the ship's communication channels.  She is also responsible for maintaining contact with launched probes and processing the data received.  She also maintains communications with away teams.

Kara Moran
Tactical Officer

The Tactical Officer, TO, is responsible for all tactical-related operations on the ship.  She can monitor external tactical activities and report on status based on who is attacking what, what got destroyed, or is breaking off attack, etc.  This includes all the ship's assets as well as ships engaging them.  She can also send vector intercept commands to combat pilots so that they can engage threats effectively.  She also monitors shield status and will sometimes adjust the settings based on current situation.  During combat engagements, keeping the Passive Target Acquisition (PTA) systems on a target-priority schedule is also her job.  She also has the authority to automatically instruct Flight Engineers to arm the shipís weapon systems when empty as well as the auto-arming of docked support crafts. With an AI level of 45 or higher, she can also automatically cut power to the ship's Launch Control systems to prevent theft by marauding intruders.

Paul Resnig
Combat Officer

The Combat Officer, CO, has the following tasks, which he performs automatically during the normal operation of the ship.

TASKS:

AI

Marines take 15-30 minutes longer to prepare for deployment if not on-station

Fighters take 10-20 minutes longer to reach ready status if not on-station

Assignment of Flight Engineers to evaluate and prep docked crafts for launch

50

Assignment of Combat Pilots to ready craft with vacant operator

35

Auto prepping of Marines for combat

35

Assignment of Marines to search for escaped prisoners

75

Auto loading of missiles, mines & probes once bay is empty

75

Allison Meeks
Medical Officer

The Medical Officer, MO, has the following tasks, which she performs automatically during the normal operation of the ship.

TASKS:

AI

Auto-treatment of personnel in MEDIBAY (HIGH AI ALLOWS MORE PEOPLE PER CHECK)

 25

Auto-cloning of dead personnel in MEDIBAY

 75

Detection of radiation/infection on crew in all crafts

 75

Reports when ship's Nutripak supply is low

 25

Reports when ship's Vacpak supply is low

 25

Reports when ship's Medpak supply is low

 25

Auto-assigning of medics to search ship for injured personnel

 15

Kendrick
Chief Engineer

The Chief Engineer, CE, has the following tasks, which he performs automatically during the normal operation of the ship.  He also auto-assigns System Engineers to upgrade systems if there are no pending repairs and upgrades are available.
TASKS:

AI

Repair/upgrade by System Engineers will take 5-25 mins longer if not on-station

Repair/upgrade completion time is based on his AI and that of the assigned engineers

Shuts down nuclear reactor if integrity is less than 25, to prevent breach

 25

Auto-assignment of System Engineers to repair/upgrade tasks in order of priority

 35

PRIORITIES:

Nuclear Reactor core, Nuclear Reactor, Main Life Support, Aux Life Support, Engine, Shield, Other systems, Support crafts (FC/SC/OC)

Jo Lanix
Research Engineer

The Research Engineer, RE, has the following tasks which she performs automatically during the normal operation of the ship.

Her
primary task is to analyze alien artifacts brought on-board the ship.  Some artifacts cannot be used until after she has analyzed them. And even then she will still try to analyze artifacts (system upgrades) even if she doesn't have to. Thats her job.

She also detects unsafe levels of dangerous and highly volatile minerals such as Krytonium, Uranium, Strontium, etc.

In addition, she is responsible for monitoring probe data and as such, auto-loads a probe launch slot when one is destroyed.

When an artifact is first brought on-board, you will not be able to use it if the Research Engineer is not on-station or is unable to analyze it.  Each time an artifact is brought on-board, it takes a random time between 30 and 60 minutes for the Research Engineer to analyze it based on her AI level.  When this analysis is complete, the item becomes available for use and can be installed if applicable.  The higher the Research Engineer's AI, the shorter the time taken to complete the analysis.  This time also depends on the fatigue and life factors.  The required AI factor for the analysis of all artifacts is listed below.  If the Research Engineer does not have the required AI level, she will not be able to analyze the artifact and you will be unable to use it.
