  2. Hello, Gavor! In an effort to better help you please go here and read how to add your profile to your sig. That way we can see your system information to try to get you fixed up.
  3. I can hear background chatter with my SB16 PCI with no problem. [ 01-06-2002: Message edited by: ShoHashi ]

  5. No problem, [PCA]Pheonix! Jump points were technology created for vessels to "jump" from one star system or region to another. You can do this safely, without damage to your vessel. Flux fields are a natural phenomenon that you can use in the same way as a jump point, however they have multiple entry and exit points. So, basically, you don't know where you will emerge once you enter it. You vessel will not take damage using these. It is important to note that some flux fields do end in black holes, which in itself is dangerous to your vessel. Wormholes are also natural phenomenon that exist all over the galaxy. Now these are unstable and will cause damage to your vessel when you traverse them. Wormholes have a single entry and exit point and you can tell where they originate. You can find more information in depth in the BCM Manual, page 36.

  7. That was pretty good, Stephanos!
  8. quote: I can upload fleet insignia avatars to the server and fleets can use them. If someone who is not in a fleet uses them, an admin can just go in and remove it if the person (after being warned), does not. I'm game for that!
  9. Snark, have you read the FAQ yet? I don't want to come off looking like I'm not helping you, but there is a lot of information in it that may be of some help to you. If, after checking it out, you still have some problems, post back here and we'll try to help you out if we can.
  10. Here's a short one for the lot of you! I had spent several hours yesterday running the route from Galcom to Wraith selling iridium and making a nice profit, I must say, in my Battlecruiser Mk1. It was late last night (early this morning), when I was feeling like it was time to hit the sack. So, I figured, I'm gonna do one last jump into Jupiter's Region 4 where it was relatively safe and park there. I figured I'd let my computer run the rest of the night and check on my status in the morning when I woke up. At that time, I was getting the nagging feeling that I was forgetting something. However, being that I was tired, that was more important than figuring out what I was forgetting. I switched off the monitor and speakers and off to bed I went. This morning, I awoke, showered, and headed down to my computer. I switched on the speakers and heard my crew jabbering in the backgroud. Good, I thought to myself, my ship is still in one piece after running the entire night. I then clicked on my monitor and to my amazement I had the word MALFUNCTION at the top of my bridge view. I immediately went to Logistics to check out my power settings. There, to my horror, I saw that my Radine was at 0...and a lot of my subsystem power settings were at 0. Thankfully, life support was still working. So, I thought to myself, that was a close one...but my crew is still alive and my ship is undamaged save for the deficit in Radine. Ok, I figured, I'll rotate the ship a bit to get more power from my solars, and see if I can get launch control online. I did just that and launch control was working. I then decided I'd take my AE, board an available shuttle and head over to Jupiter's Earthstar station and get enough Radine to get my CC operational. Once I got enough Radine to my CC, I'd dock my shuttle, go back to the bridge, and set course to Earthstar for a full refueling. A full-proof plan, or so I thought. I launched my shuttle and headed for the jumpgate that would take me to Jupiter. Just as I came out of hyperspace and was closing on the gate, my whole computer shut off. I mean everything, my monitor, my speakers, everything! ****, I thought and as soon as I looked under my desk at my powerstrip, I became even more ticked. There under my desk, I saw the family cat near the powerstrip washing himself. It was then that I realized that the damned cat had walked over the powerstrip and shut it off. Moral of the war story: (1) Even Vets make mistakes..and when you get a nagging feeling that you are forgetting something, think about it and don't worry about the sleep. You have an obligation to your ship's crew..their safety. IOW, make sure you have a lot of Radine before you park for the night. (2) And, make sure your powerstrip is "cat-proofed!"
  11. quote: example: I saw an insurgent fighter floating in space, sending out an SOS. So I sent out a shuttle to tow it back to my carrier. However, it couldn't dock with the fighter in tow. Never did figure out what to do with it. You can't dock your shuttle to your CC while it's towing something. I usually just have the shuttle deliver the ship it is towing to a nearby statstation.
  12. Copied from the BCM General Discussions thread courtesy of Cmdr Nova: quote: Even if you have registered the game, you can't make new topics in the Tech Support forums. Just post in the Tech Issues or Misc Issues threads that are there. This is to prevent clutter, and help us sort out the requests for help. What Cmdr Nova said pretty much sums it up. Also, you need to add your System Profile Info link to your sig. Instructions on doing so are found here. [ 12-31-2001: Message edited by: ShoHashi ]
  13. I need all current Bishamon Fleet members to head over to the new Battlecruiser Commanders Forum, register using your existing forum name used here and check in under the December Bishamon Fleet recall thread. Your attention in this matter is greatly appreciated.
  14. Nope, don't think so, Church. I was on it last night. I think that it is probably down temporary for maintenance or finetuning. Try back later....
  15. quote: Only ask cos your fellow Insurgent scumbags have been letting the side down recently, and we havent had any interesting sabre rattling threads for yonks now. That's because we're waiting for multiplayer! Talk is cheap but when we can see what you girls can actually do in multiplayer, it might prove to be more embarassing for you guys!
  16. Congratulations, Echo!
  17. Congratulations, Wold! I guess it's true what Alaskans do up there when its cold! quote: Future: 4 teenage girls silmutaneously!! Hehehe, and to think I had it rough with one! You're gonna have 4 times the trouble I had! Need any tips, let me know!
  18. quote: let's all hand the insurgents a posion medpacks for lunch Hey, hey, hey!!! What'd we ever do to you guys?
  19. quote: I think we're better off doing this in January once the holidays are over. This way, more people can attend. That sounds like a better plan!
  20. Gotcha, Commander Yazin Re'trat! I also received and email reply from Captain Hasenau. He is currently unable to access the forums until he gets his copy of BCM. I will continue to hold him on the books as long as he replies to my Recall emails.
  21. Derek, I know your mind is made up, but I wouldn't feel right if I didn't at least try to get you to reconsider. Please don't shut the board down. Through the years, you've put together a lot of good moderators...Aramike, Gallion, Rattler, Jaguar, etc. As was said earlier in the thread, why don't you just leave the moderating of the forum to the moderators? They've done an outstand job of keeping the forums consistent with your vision. That would allow you to concentrate on what you like to do....the game. But if we can't change your mind, then I want to thank you for keeping the game going. I'll continue to support BCM and will also continue to betatest for you as long as you need me to do so. Just my two cents into the pot....

  24. ShoHashi

    It's a boy!

    Congratulations, Silk!
  25. Gotcha, Stickman. BTW, just giving some friendly advice, if you need help in fixing your System Profile Info sig, go here. Also, can you please update your email address in the Fleet Database? It seems that when I sent the email notification to respond in the forum that my email bounced back. [ 12-12-2001: Message edited by: ShoHashi ]
