Bought the tickets at 4PM, went to the theater at 5:15 PM and walked right into the theater and took the middle seats on the fourth row just like I love. The movie started at 6 PMish and from that point forward I was thrilled. Jonathan, a rabid Star Wars fan, was enchanted from the first scene, so much so that he forgot to cover his ears as often as not (sensitive to loud noises) and his comments was that it was beautiful and funny. He loved the comic mishaps of C3P0 and R2D2. I loved Yoda and the foreshadowing went from clobber the audience to very subtle (my favorite clobber was the shadow on the wall). One thing that Hayden (Anakin) did portray well is the phycosis (sp?) that will help drive him to the Dark Side (unfortunately I'm not sure that part was acting). It was also a lot of fun listening to the younger crowd voice their opinion of the kissing scenes (EEEWWWW, grossssss!), I know that all the adults around me laughed outright at that one. Despite what the SC says, go see this film as it's a return to the Star Wars saga whereas EPI was merely a travesty gone horridly wrong.

There have been a number of fairly dramatic changes in my life recently. One of those changes, however, is having a drastic impact on my leisure time and will continue to do so for several years to come. My oldest son, who is seven, has finally been diagnosed with Autism. I say finally because for the past two years we were operating under the belief that Jonathan's idiosyncrasies were merely developmental delays and for the five years before that we were routinely told that he was just going through a phase. My wife and I have always known that using teaching techniques designed for children with Autism brings out the best in Jonathan but again we were told that this was only coincidence and not to worry too much about it. Now that we know that it is indeed Autism, my wife and I are funneling most of our leisure time into teaching Jonathan skills, like reading peoples facial expressions, that you and I and most everyone else picked up instinctively as small children. As you can imagine, that is no small task and leaves little time for either of us. That precious but small amount of time left to us is lavished on just the two of us to keep our marriage and our love for each other strong because without that strength we're of no use to Jonathan or our other children. As such I have retired from Wraith Fleet as your XO and as the SOG Wing Leader. As we all know, MP cometh and Tac needs someone who can devote the time needed at his side and right now that is something I cannot do no matter how much I would love to do it. I guarantee, however, that when the day comes that Jonathan no longer needs my wife and me as much as he does now that I will beat a quick path into the enlistment office. Until then I'll be more like a ghost in Wraith's Fleet. PS... <soapbox>You have probably heard children with Autism called austistic. Autism is a disorder and not a color. Calling someone who has Autism autistic is the same as calling someone who has cancer cancerous. It just really doesn't make sense. Update Appears to be another wall tear in the right vas deferens. I say another because the same thing happened ten years ago in a rather intense raquette (never can remember exactly how to spell that) ball game (we won BTW). We THINK that it must not have healed as strongly and that my recent hike in physical activity (yoga) may have opened the old wound.
