You've probably noticed that the wraith logos are doing the on again off again dance. I'm tired of playing games with problems like this on free sites so I'm setting up a more permanent situation (read that as I paid for the new site) and I'll post new url for the sig images later today.

quote:Originally posted by Nathilus: After a few weeks of playing the final release of BCM and a few months fiddling around with the second demo, I've finally decided to join a fleet, and I've decided that you fit my personality and skills the best. Since the fleet DB is down until further notice, I felt I should give you the heads-up instead of sitting on my hands. So, please tell me if there's anything I can do while the fleet DB is down... I'd really like to be all set up and ready to roll (fly) by the time the multiplayer patch is out. TIA. Check your private messages.

quote:Originally posted by Nathilus: Also, I just bought a Numega engine to save on the radine I'm burning in this route, but the 'upgrade' button for the engines is still dark, and I can't assign any engineers to it. One of two things is happening here You are still docked at a station as has been mentioned. Upgrades are not allowed at stations. Union rules You have the engine loaded in a shuttle instead of a cargo bay. Your SysEngineers are not smart enough to look anywhere by the pre-assigned cargo bay for any spare parts. quote:Originally posted by Nathilus: EDIT- Whoops. I figured the system profile sig was dynamic and would be updated here when I fixed it. So, here it is for now. System ProfileFollow all the directions in this post exactly as listed and you can't go wrong.

quote:Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: Now I'm planning a deep strike into Gammulan space with a few OTS missiles and a song in my heart(may take some screenies during the trip)Gammulan space...a wraith's favorite playground I have to agree with the general sentiment of earning your GalCreds by whatever means. As far as an easy way to amass a large amount of money, just park your CC somewhere safe, deploy your drones and let the thing sit for a couple of hours while you watch a movie, sleep, whatever. Go back, collect your drones, empty them and repeat. Do this until you have to start storing minerals in the shuttles to make room and then head off to a mineral starved station and sell like crazy. The biggest bonus is that your crew's AI will also increase. Having a crew where everyone is 25+ (marines, medics even...gasp...Resnig) makes you a meaner, leaner, fighting machine.

Your wife comes into the office terrified because you're breathing sounds labored only to find that you're so wrapped up in the game that you're gasping for air while your AE is swimming...sigh, sad but true.

quote:Originally posted by Eclipse: Until the advent of MP, fleets are primarily RP elements. after MP comes... those RP battles get a new twist. Wraith is putting a slight twist on that. Orders have been issued to each wing and wing members carry out their individual orders (or will as things progress to that point). The progress of the campaign is then reported back to the fleet via our private forum. It makes for slow going but moves the RP into the game as much as possible until MP arives.

quote:Originally posted by Oban: Hmmm.. let's see, if all the long time vets get a carrier, and run around cloaked, that leaves all the... ahem... visible targets for the rest of us to command... add the fact that we noobs will end up with the leftovers... hmmm... I smell a turkey shoot. [rp] "Fleet Comander Tac, Oban reporting for asset assignment. Sir!" "Oh Hello there Oban, here's your baby, isn't she a beaut. You will do us proud son." Fleet CO Tac says as he gingerly puts down a red paint can and shows Oban the GCV Sitting Duck. <snip> "Now, Commander Boob, er I mean Oban, saddle up son we have your first assignment. Your going to escort Cmdr. Tyrn and Cmdr. Dreada on an assault on New America. Tyrn will be in a Megaron, Dreada in a Nightstar, they will be cloaked of course. You are to ride shotgun as escort, after you go in youself and scout out the enemies strength first. I'm sure they will have one or two of those Pta's working before you get there. And oh yes we were out of crab mines, Orthae needed yours. Oh look your paint is dry, take her out and kick the tires Oban, on second thought don't kick them, we can't afford to replace them if they fall off, 30% inflation here at wraith you know." Oban is left to stare at his new Command and wonder aloud to himself. "I wonder if there are any Stormcarriers left in the Gammulan fleet? Oh well, that is an awful pretty bullseye. Hey ensign help me scrub the rust off of this ship Ive got work to do?" [end rp] You wouldn't do that to me Tac would you?.. Tac? .. would you? Of course he wouldn't, I'd get to Thanks for the chuckle Oban, I really needed it this morning...GCV Sitting Duck, that's great. [ 01-24-2002: Message edited by: Tyrn ]

quote:Originally posted by Gustavo: Hey, My probes keep jumping to one place to another. I want to keep it just in one area. How can I do that? the menu doesn't give me any option for this. My Probes are always in silent mode. I don't see any diference between normal and silent. Enemy fighters run after my probes when at any mode. (the faniest is that they just follow the probe never shooting at it). Silent = report no data via the comms channel to the CC. Normal will report data to you through the comms channel which can be really annoying (imagine 50 reports of X attacks Y when Y was destroyed five minutes ago).

quote:Originally posted by Gustavo: A noob question here. I have searched for all the forum and I haven't find the answear. I captured the Destiny station (Nevuela - Alpha Centaury). I had a lot of work trying to protect it. The problem is that many fighters got to my station at the same time and I was anable to avoid my station to be disabled. Now I can't dock at it anymore but it is still labeled TER/MIL - DISABLED. The question is: Will this station be ok again (and than I will keep around trying to protect it) or Is it destroyed forever? (And so, I will leave and find another station to capture.) If it will be ok, how long do I have to wait to be able to dock again? Thanks It will be ok in time (2 hours if memory serves).

Cheers Image manipulation using the game models and just because it's not in the game doesn't mean it's not there (the BC MKI-MKIII all have skids if you know where to look)...wait, the skids may have been removed from the MKIII when it was redone, not sure.

Talk about a love hate relationship You are assuming that marketing won't convince whomever that the DVD should not be released until one day before The Two Towers is released. You envision your car as an MK2 shuttle and that you're racing from a planet side installation (work) to your command craft in orbit (home).

I believe that had a 1.8 MHz processor and we owned the supped model with 16K of memory.

The Mk1 is far far better looking and will actually outaccelerate the Mk2 (unmodified in both cases). quote:Originally posted by Valmorgan: Thanks, I had not yet discovered the virtues of the manifest display before I got a booby trapped one. Lesson learned. However, when collecting a pod that shows various contents, and none of said contents are already on my CC, I still find difficulty locating them after they have been collected (cargoswept) and the shuttle has returned to the CC. Again, my apologies for a query that must seem lame in the extreme for some. Unload the shuttle that collected the cargo. The items are then distributed to the proper cargo bay/weapons pod.

quote:Originally posted by White Castle: 1) I notice that in the power area of the logistics computer I am able to vary the power to the engines and the solar reactor by units of 1 (although both seem to default to 5). Does raising these have any effect? Is it at all worthwhile to put both (or either) at 10? Negligible impact, find a setting you like and stick with it. quote:Originally posted by White Castle: 2)While studying the appendix to choose which ship type I would like to command (for now), I noticed that there are different shield and hull values given for each. One carrier may have a shield value of 1500, while another (the Megaron I think) has a value of 3500. My question is, is this shield strength a proportional increase, or just the base value given Spectrum/A shields? If I were to upgrade two ships of differing starting shield values to Linear Spec IV shields (the same upgrade), would the shield strengths between the ships increase proportionally, linearly, or would they be equal? The appendix states that the shield upgrades offer higher protection, so I assume that the advantage is not solely the consumption of less plutonim (if indeed it they do consume less), but also a higher degree of protection (say from 1500 to 1750 or something). Those are base values only. Upgrades increase the value. quote:Originally posted by White Castle: 3)I have noticed that when I dock at a starbase (say GalcomHQ) for repairs, sometimes my repairs will be suspended before they are finished. Sometimes, if I reassign engineers they will continue working and fix the system (this happens after they have already used the required parts, so I know it isn't their refusal to pay for spares). Your SE go off duty in dry dock and the station SEs can then be assigned to continue any repair work on your crafts. quote:Originally posted by White Castle: Also, I have noticed that sometimes repairs stop at 99% and will not go any further no matter how many engineers are assigned to the task. Is this normal? (and as a final last minute add on to this question, I have had systems repaired to 100% that where still colored brown and listed as 'suspended'. Assigning station or my own ship engineers would not alleviate this.) Potential bug, if you can reliably reproduce it, raise your hand and holler (include the steps to reproduce).
