quote:Originally posted by Overmind: I have Math class in about an hour and need help on two last problems (I knew I shouldn't have spent so much time after High School before going to Collage, word of advice, GO AS SOON AS YOU GET OUT!!!), and I am not good at Word Problems... 1) How long does it take for a deposit of $1000 to double at 8% compounded continuously? The formula for continuous compounding is FV = PeYr where FV is Future Value. P is your principle, Y is the number of years and r is the rate. Your question is this: 2P = PeYr Your principle is the amount of money you deposit. Your rate is your interest rate and e is the constant e. Plug your values in and solve for Y. quote: 2)Ben Franklin's gift of $4000 to Philadelphia grew to $2 million in 200 years. At what interest rate compounded monthly would this growth occur? The formula for periodic compounding is FV = P(1 + r/n)Yn The values come from the same location as the other problem. You know what the future value, principle and time are. This time you need to solve for r (btw n=12).

Starstations are still sitting ducks for cloak raids.
Tyrn replied to PegasusJF's topic in Battlecruiser Series
quote:Originally posted by PegasusJF: Hello, it's been awhile. When I played BCM before, I noticed what was in my eyes a critical flaw in the gameplay of BCM. The "Cloak raid" ie.I don't see this as a flaw. Cloaked ships are the "ultimate weapon" but they are still vulnerable. This will be more evident during MP. If you think that taking out a station with a cloaked ship is too easy, try it with something other than a carrier class ship. (Nothing is impossible). -
The SOG Roster is now online at www.ormonds.net/sog/roster.php.

quote:Originally posted by DREADA: Actually I got into Fleetops!!! And its still all there, so you could use that and point everyone in that direction if you want. WHQ is still a really nice site to visit, images etc... I can get into FleetOps just fine too but the problem is that there is no longer a link to the secured Fleet forums from there or anywhere else that I can find. If someone has a link to those forums and they are indeed still functioning, send me the link [email protected], there's data there that I'd like to salvage if possible.

Which is why I have that message in Red. Glad to hear it, I had nightmarish visions of now having to find out which mode a player was in when such and such bad thing happened.... quote:Originally posted by Sebbish: You have to use the -cheat console command. Read the VCF and it will tell all the cheats it enables. Thanks for adding that in SC. I'm going through reading overload at the moment trying to catch-up and although I read the VCF, I ignored the -cheat details as I consider them at your own risk issues. Guess I better read that section this afternoon.

Iraqi soldiers surrender to British paratroopers
Tyrn replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Chatter
Just a reminder that everyone is free to attack opposing opinions all they want and with as much heat as they want but no one is free to stoop to making personal attacks of any kind on these forums. This thread is beginning to look more like the later and for this thread to stay alive that trend needs to stop now. -

I noticed that FLEETOPS was down. I am currently working on a site for SOG www.ormondts.net/sog (not yet operational) that will include (I hope, we'll see) a forum using phpBB.

quote:Originally posted by Enigma: the US has made its gravest mistake ever.Exactly, and I do mean exactly, what would be the right course of action? You obviously must have an alternative to war that you want to see advanced which would defuse the situation in Iraq and I want to hear it. BTW, taking the stance that the UN plan was working won't make the cut because years of failure doesn't sound like a working plan to me.

quote:Originally posted by DCZX: I just docked at a station and I had illegal items. They were confiscated and it said something was adjusted. Was this my rank? Also, where can I see my rank? thx Congratulations, you've just received a violation! Press Alt-C (from bridge view) and select stats. I think it's CommLink or Communications or Comms from the computer subsystems drop down.

This morning I did what some here may consider to be impossible and my first thought was to post here and give details...bragging rights and all that. My second thought was, hey you idiot, this gives SOG and Wraith a great advantage in MP so don't go shooting your mouth off. So, now I ask you my fellow Wraithers...how much information should we post here when keeping that info quiet gives us an edge in MP? [ 03-19-2003, 10:25 AM: Message edited by: Tyrn ]

quote:Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: Welcome back Tyrn and great to hear about your son. no matter what rank TAC gives you I'll still salute you in the corridors of Wraith HQ. Thanks for the support Emmett. Things are, to me, a bit unclear on the whole XO issue - especially after reading back through some of the old posts here - but as I've already said, I support Tac regardless and am just thrilled to be back. First things first, I need a current roster of who's part of SOG. Last count I have is Cmdr. Tyrn Marcel GCV-Falcon [email protected] Flt. Cmdr. Tac GCV-Usagi [email protected] Cmdr. Brion McGregor GCV-Stormdragon [email protected] If your info is wrong, incomplete or missing (I thought there were four of us?) send me an email with the information listed above if you have it. Edit note: Trying to post tabular data here is a pain. I'll post a link to the SOG roster shortly. [ 03-19-2003, 09:15 AM: Message edited by: Tyrn ]

Thanks Smith, it's good to be back. Chavik, while I'm not sure what to make of an Insurgent showing up in Wraith territory who's not in shackles , I do appreciate the warm welcome. Thanks.

quote:Originally posted by DCZX: Hi, How long does it normally take mining drones to fill up? thx I don't know that anyone has actually calculated an average time and I've heard guestimates as high as 400 minutes. I personally figure it to take A Very Long Time⢠and so I unload my drones after about an hour if opportunity allows.
