  1. Aye, that sounds like a good plan of action.
  2. [RP] 09:00 hrs, 12th May, 3008 UCV-Deathstrike Commander's Suite It had never occured to me that Galcom would freeze my account, how foolish of me. Damn Commies, they can't fight fair so they go and take away my money. Probably a standard Galcom tactic, cut off the supply lines then move in for the kill. Anyway, fussing about it wasn't going to help me pay Commander Shingen. I would have to work it off, wouldn't be the first time I had to do some labor work to pay off a dept. "If ya want, I'll become a member of yer crew til a time that I have payed off my dept to ya. My ship and my life will be at yer disposal," I offered the Commander. Commander Shingen gave me a quizical look, "You read my mind Mr. Falx. I just happen to have a Tactical position open right now. Do you have any experience in that field?" I grinned at the man, "I used to be a Tactical Officer on a Mandorian Military Vessel. Although I might be a lil rusty, I'm sure it won't be long before I'm up to par." He seemed surprised by this and asked, "What was a Valkerie doing on a Mandorian Military Vessel?" He probably didn't believe me, it did sound pretty coincidental. "I was born on Rinaal, where my mother died, and raised by a family of Mandorians. That is why I hate my own species and Gammulans so much." I didn't mind telling him this little incite into my past, as long as he didn't dig too deep. "Allright then, I will allow you a chance to prove your Tactical skills to me. This is only temporary though, until my old Tactical Officer is completely cloned. Do not let me down Mr. Falx," he paused before standing up and saying, "Now if there is nothing further that needs to be discussed, I suggest you get yourself familiar with 'Operations'." "Gotcha," I replied and left the room. [/RP] There, not much but I took care of Falx's money dilema BTW, will Falx have any authority on your ship now that he is the Acting Tactical Officer or will everyone only take orders from you or other officers. I know there is no real ranking structure on a merc ship, but everyone will follow orders from certain people. ----------------------- Commander Falx (Valkerie/Mercenary) UCV-Thyella (Defender) "The impossible is often the untried." 4. BTW, Caine, Zeke only has one bionic eye, the other is still blind and opaque. Not that this changes much 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Turbolift Zeke looked at Commander Caine quizically, he didn't receognize the face but the voice was starting to jar something loose. "I'm the one that helped you to the med bay," Caine informed him and Zeke soon remembered the merc. He stepped into the turbolift. "How's the link outside coming?" Zeke looked up, searching for a camera. Finding one behind a panel he decided this was not the place to discuss matters. "They wouldn't let me use the comms system, so I'll have to get you that cheap Radine some other time," Zeke attempted a cover story for Caine's words, the camera was most likely visual only anyway. The turbolift doors opened and the two of them headed down to the galley. They each ordered drinks and sat at the back, there were some people in there allready, but they were busy with their own lives to notice the two mercs. "Here's the good word. I have a man in engineering trying to hack into this ships main computer as we speak. I told him that I would meet up with him just as soon as I found you. I need to send a message to my ship too, I probably need to get out of here real soon." [/RP] Not sure if warning klaxxons would go off from that explosion I set off on deck 3 or not. I said they did, but nobody else seems to be hearing them so if you like I will delete that part. Anywho, back to you Mr. Caine.
  5. Sounds like a plan Shingen, Falx does need to work on his social skills . . . and his drunken boxing
  6. I plan on staying with the Deathstrike for now. I figure it will take a while to fix that fighter anyway. P.S. Don't worry, I don't intend on using my toys on your crew , maybe if a intruder pops in to say hello at some point I can have some fun with them, but other than that I have other plans for them. Actually I don't have other plans, but I'm sure I will soon enough
  7. [RP] 08:00 hrs, 12th May, 3008 UCV-Deathstrike Shuttlebay I looked up at the battlescarred hull of my fighter, opening an access panel I discovered various scarred cables, wires and circuits. First things first I fused all of the broken wires back their proper companion. As I started to remove anything beyond repair or that needed to be removed in order to fix, I began to think about my mission. How many weapons and other equipment did I currently have with me? Only one way to know... I slid out from under my ship and rolled off of the piece of board with wheels I had been occupying. Standing, I walked around to the front of the defender, noticing the large Kandorian patching up one of the wings. Leaping to the top of the cockpit, about seven feet, I climbed in through a roof hatch. There was a small, hidden, storage compartment in the cockpit where I kept some weapons. Inside I found a sidearm with no energy cells, a rifle, very low on power on it's last energy cell, some light armour and a Combat Helmet. I frowned at this and checked the other three places on my ship in which I hid weapons. All I came up with was a fully powered wrist laser, two empty rifles, three emptied, one half emptied sidearm, a combat suit, a stealth suit, two grenades, and a battle axe with 8 blades, 4 on each end. On my way out of the Shuttlebay Smitty called after me, "Where are you heading?" "I changed my mind about going on the station," I replied as the turbolift doors closed. I had to steer clear of any Commies as best I could, although most of them couldn't tell one Valkerie from the next. I couldn't risk purchasing anything with my account, they'd know I was here, would have to do some under the counter shopping. As I approached the bar I spotted Commander Shingen walking away from it. Inside my became much easier as I spotted a Mr. Hanslo at the counter purchasing some scotch. I sat next to him and told the barkeep, a robot, to give me a glass of water. I didn't know drunken boxing so I prefered not to get drunk because I could be in a fight at any moment. "Are you here for the floor show or just a drink," Hanslo asked him in a low voice without turning from his drink. "Both," I replied quietly. The floor show meant I came to him to purchase some weapons. "How have you been doing, friend?" this was just chatting in order to distract attention from us. "Not bad, a lil' action here and dere, notin' big. Stayin' wit some friends right now," this basically meant that we couldn't meet on my ship and had to stay away from security. "I heard rumor that you got in a fight with some Kandorian in Docking bay 7. Heard he wiped the floor with you," the human said smirking. "Aye, but I put up a good fight," this meant we were going to meet in Docking Bay 7. "Well, I need to be going now. Got a deadline to meet," Hanslo said and left the room. I finished my water and headed for docking bay 7 several minutes later. 08:30 hrs UCV-Deathstrike Turbolift The turbolift decended with me and a crate full of goodies, heading for my fighter. I had managed to purchase a jamming device which worked just like my stealth suit but could fit right onto my combat suit. I purchased numerous energy cells and grenades, a missile launcher with five missiles, magnetic gloves and boots with voice recognition capabilities, several door charges, throwing knives, a jetpack, and some C-4. After I placed all of these items on Thyella Smitty said, rather sarcastically, "Hope you had fun shopping. Now help me patch up the big gash on this hunk of metal you call a ship!" [/RP] Commander Falx (Valkerie/Mercenary) UCV-Thyella (Defender) "All we are asked to bear we can bear."
  8. [RP] 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Deck Three "Do I know you?" the Fleet Commander interrogated. Jet simply grinned at the man, he had control of the situation now and he wasn't about to reveal anything he didn't need to. "I'm just a figment of your imagination," Jet replied and pointed his wrist laser at Savage, "Now remove your wrist laser and sidearm." Savage did this cautiously and then Jet motioned with the gun to move and said, "Quickly." They jogged down the hallway with the Fleet Commander in the lead. Turning into another hallway which jetted off from the first they continued down it until they reached a small panel in the wall. With his wrist laser still pointing at Savage, Jet removed the panel to reveal a bunch of large cables. Tucked in underneath of the cables was his sidearm and rifle. He placed the sidearm in it's proper position and as he grabbed the rifle the Fleet Commander suddenly dropped to the floor and tripped the android with a well placed leg sweep. As Jet fell toward the floor he almost smacked himself in the head for allowing himself to be tripped by a human. There was a loud thud as Thompson slammed into the floor. Savage made a quick run for the nearest door and Thompson sat up and fired three times at the Fleet Commander before he disappeared behind a door. Jumping to his feet and went to the door and wasn't to surprised to discover it was locked. He scanned the area to check on the status of the Security team, they had just got past the first door and were heading to the one Thompson had blown open. His fingers moving quicker than a human eye could follow he began to try every number combination he could before the security reached him. Luckily, they seemed to be moving cautiously, and there was currently only three of them. The door finally slid open just as the security spotted him from the end of the corridor. As they began running toward him he slid in through the door and locked it behind him. The android found himself in a large room occupied by the ship's Nuclear Reactor, there was plenty of hiding spots in here. It was a smart choice by Savage because the Reactor was disrupting Jet's sensors and he couldn't fire an energy weapon nearby a Nuclear anything. As the door behind Thompson began to slide open, since the Marines could easily get the access code, Jet leapt up to the high ceiling. Grabbing a hold of a steel beam he pulled his body flat against the ceiling, all of this happened before the door completely opened. The Marines came in quickly, yet cautiously, each watching the others back, it never occured to them to look up. "No weapons unless you have a definite shot, it's too dangerous around this reactor," one of the marines ordered the other two. Then with a quick hand signal one went left, one right and one straight. Jet let go to the steel beam with perfect timing, the one that had gone straight was now unlucky enough to have a heavy android fall unto his back. The marine only managed to grunt before going unconscious. The other two had managed to hear this and they appeared on both sides of Jet. "Freeze!" the one on the right yelled. Jet placed his hands on his head and the marines slowly closed in. When they were both within arms reach Thompson jumped several feet into the air and kicked on both sides, knocking the men's weapons away from them. The one on the right tried to grab him with a big bear hug, after all these marines were big guys and Jet looked scrawny. Thompson easily tossed the guy off of him and the other one kicked at Jet's chest. His human instincts told him to dodge the kick but his intelligence told him to stand still and let the marine hurt his foot, which is exactly what Thompson did. The first marine was back up and charge at the android's back. Jet decided to get fancy and performed a frontward flip, kicking the man behind him as he was upside down and then kicking the other one when he came back around. Doing several backward cartwheels for effect he motioned to the two marines to come at him. One of them tried to make for their gun so Thompson ran at him and drop kicked him into a wall. The other one had snuck up behind him and kicked him in the head, stumbling forward Jet turned and punched the approaching marine in the chest, sending him flying back 6 feet. All the marines were unconscious now. "That was fun Fleet Commander, do you want to test your skills too!" Thompson called out mockingly. To the androids surprise there was a reply, "Sure, I'm up for a challenge." Savage came out of the shadows holding one of the marines rifles, he fired, Jet dodged left but Savage had anticipated this and allready fired again. This second shot sent Thompson flying back into the wall, as he impacted the wall dented outward and Jet then fell face first into the floor. Thompson rolled onto his side and kicked himself into the air and landed on his feet. Another shot from Savage caused yet another dent in the wall. "Want to try for three?" Savage asked mockingly. Thompson would have tried for three but the second shot had fried a bundle of wires leading to his legs and now he couldn't move them and he knew he couldn't draw faster than Savage could fire. "Not bad," Jet said to Savage as the second Security team surged into the room. [/RP] There ya go Blades, and I didn't even make you look like a fool. 9. [RP] 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Medibay When Zeke awoke his leg had better bandages on the the fabric and duct tape he had put on. He felt strange and couldn't feel any pain coming from his leg, this made him angry. "Damnit! Hey you, medic, come over here," Zeke called to a medic he heard nearby talking to someone about second degree burns. He heard the approaching footsteps and then, "What is it Sir?" "I told you guys not to pump any of that sh** into me. Which part of it did you not understand?" "I don't Sir, I wasn't one of the people working on you." Zeke sighed, it doesn't matter now anyway, it's allready done, "What about this bionic eye problem, is someone going to come up here an fix that?" "I believe Mr. Caine left an Engineer behind to take care of that," the medic sounded annoyed about something. "Well bring him over. I don't want to stay in here any longer than I have to." Zeke was growing more and more annoyed with this medic. "Sure Sir, but could I get your name first? It needs to be logged." Zeke did a quick memory check and found the name of a Merc he had identified on the Vulture. He just hoped this person wasn't still alive, or at least wasn't in the medbay, "Frank LeBlanc. Now let's get this blindness problem fixed." He heard the medic walk away and a few seconds later another set of feet approached him, this person sounded heavier. "Allright, I'm not exactly a specialist in this area but I know a few things and I'm a quick learner," the engineer had a deep voice and was hard to understand. Zeke could feel fingers on his face and allowed the person to remove his eye. "Looks like some EMP damage, you must have been having more fun than me. Allright, I can fix this in no time." 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Nearby Nuclear Reactor Coolant System Jet finally finished running all of the tests and decided it was about time to check on his friend in the Interceptor. His scans indicated that the person was still in it and when he got there he was happy to discover that the person was still unconscious. Back in engineering he started to work on his new method. The first step was creating the new program, this took some time. He managed to finish it though without being bothered once. The Cheif Engineer was busy watching some new engineers who he couldn't make leave, they were from the 'Leo'. Jet started the program up, it was working, but it would take some time. Thompson hid the program underneath a whole bunch of other programs and so on and then went to find his Commander. Allready well aware that Zeke wasn't on this deck the android made his way to the turbolift. At Deck 2 he detected Zeke making his way out of the medbay. 20th May 3008 GCV-McKendrick Medbay As the engineer placed Zeke's eye back into it's proper socket he could allready see a blurred image coming to life, then everything was clear and he could see again. The first thing he did was look around to see who and what was around. He knew right away that he was onboard a Galactan Class Battlecruiser and the Engineer who had helped him really was a big man just as Zeke had pictured. Next he switch to infrared to see what was around that he couldn't normally see, then he tested out his night vision, just to see if it worked. A few more tests and Zeke was satisfied that the man had done a good job. "Thank you. I will be sure to compensate your crew for their troubles. Right now I have a favour to fulfill." with that said Zeke got up, rather unsteadily, he wasn't sure what condition his leg was in. It seemed better than it was so he made his way out of the medbay. He had to find Jet. 20th May, 3008 Modified Shuttlecraft from UCV-Susceptor When Jake discovered that Thompson had not been beamed aboard and also noticed a large power spike in the vicinity of the Vulture he came to the conclusion that someone else had beamed the crew off. Just in time too, since the Vulture feel apart a second later. Although Jake had managed to get a transporter lock on Thompson and was now tracking that down. 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Deck Two "Zeke, wait up." The Commander turned to see the familar face of his CSO Jet Thompson. "Where have you been Jet? I have been stumbling around blindly for the past couple of hours." "Sorry Sir, the Vultures Engines were disrupting my sensors. Blind Sir? How did that happen?" "Dang Marine and his Grenade, EMPed my bionic eye." "Have to EMP protect it when we get back to the ship, which I suggest we do real soon before we get in anymore trouble," Jet urged his Commander. "Sorry Jet, I have a favour that needs to be taken care of first. Do you know of anyway we can break into this ships comms systems and send a message to another ship?" "Actually I have a program running in Engineering which might do just that." Jet responded. "Good go down there and wait for me, I need to find Caine. He is the one who wants the message sent." "He must be incharge of the UCV-Leo. They came along and offered assistance to the Vulture a while ago. Must of got forcefully pulled into this whole mess. When should I expect you in Engineering?" "If I'm not there in 2 hours come looking for me. I might take care of some other things first." 20th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Deck Three Jet had been noticing the ship becoming more active for a while now and it was making him nervous. As he walked down the corridor he noticed some one heading his way and made sure to keep his head low. Suddenly, security doors were put in place and he quickly realized that they had finally spotted him. The next thing he noticed was gas being pumped into the room and he rapidly switched to his auxilary air tank. He still needed air to run his human brain but this backup tank would due him for a few hours. Thompson ran up to one of the security and began to pound on it with his fists. Thud, Thud, THUD After a minute of punching the door he realized that it would take him too long to get through. There were large dents in the door but by the time he got through a full security team would be assembled around the area. Before doing anything he shot the camera which was busy recording his movements. All he had was a wrist laser which he had been hiding under his sleeve. His other weapons were hidden in a good place. There was one other thing he managed to conseal, it was the home made bomb he had assembled on the Vulture. "I knew this would come in handy," Jet said to himself and placed the small bomb on the door, set the charge for 5 seconds and ran in the opposite direction. There was a loud explosion followed by the automated alarm system which went off at the first sign of trouble. Back at the door he stepped through and spotted a familar face. It was that of Fleet Commander Savage, Jet could remember hearing about Savage back when he was in Galcom. Of course he only knew his face from Communications to the Susceptor when Thompson happened to be on the bridge. Jet bowed amuzedly, "If it isn't Fleet Commander Savage, I was beginning to wonder if when you were going to show yourself." Jet scanned the area and found a security team heading their way, "Looks like your boys are coming to rescue your a**. You should know better than to wonder the halls by yourself." [/RP] I was wondering how long I could wander around before getting spotted.
  10. **Note: I am switching to first person. I need to brush up, been writing third person for all of my forum stories but I write first person in my novel** [RP] 06:20 hrs, 12th May, 3008 Solnar Heavy Cruiser UCV-Deathstrike Shuttle Bay As I awaited the ships Commander I decided to take a look at the outside of my ship. After a few momments of feeling and smelling the battered hull I came to the conclusion that the indside looked worse. I began to laugh quietly to myself, it was finally hitting me that I had actually survived the whole ordeal. Of course this contract wasn't completed yet, but at least now I was on a larger ship. A new smell hit my nose, it was that of a Gammulan, but I could also smell something else, he had told the truth about being partially Terran. The Commander must have been nearby. I ventured around to the other side of my ship and found the man also examining my hull. At first sight I couldn't help but curl my lip up slightly, it was always my first reaction at the sight of a Gammulan. I quickly turned it into a smile, I was going to give this Gammulan a chance to prove to be more than just a Gammulan. After a formal greeting I asked about the terms of our deal and he seemed to be acting friendly about it, saying he would have to look at the ship first, as I knew he would. Of course like any Commander he made sure I knew that I was only a guest on his ship, which was okay I wasn't planning on staying any longer than I had to. "Say, you wouldn't know anything about that undesignated Megaron nearby would you?" I asked him casually as he escorted me to some quarters. "Oh that is nothing important. Just some Commie trying to fool any unsuspecting Criminal who happens to be passing through." the Commander told me. It sounded like a reasonable explaination, but I had a feeling there was more to it. I also had a feeling that he didn't want me poking my nose into things, so I dropped the subject. There was minor chatting as we finished the route to my new quarters, but nothing important. I disparted from the Commander thinking that so far he was certainly better than any Gammulan I had ever met. I would follow his rules for now, since I had no reason not to. As I thought through what I was going to do next I decided the first I need to do was clean up, trying to hold that wreck together was turning my skin black. [/RP] ---------------------- Commander Falx (Valkerie/Mercenary) UCV-Thyella (Defender) "As every thread of gold is valuable, so is every moment of time."
  11. [RP] 19th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Engineering Jet was trying to hack into this ships main computer, but she was being a lot more stubborn than the Vulture. Galcom had obviously improved on their computers since Susceptor was last refited. He had tried every method he could think of, for hacking into Galcom computers but still came up with nothing. The Dark skinned android was now resorting to making up new methods from scratch and basically using the 'trial and error' method. "Wayne! I thought I told you to get down to the Nuclear Reactor and run some tests on the Cooling System," Jet was startled to discover that this message was directed to him. "Yes, I started down there but then I realized that I needed to run some preleminary tests from here first," Jet responded quickly, altering his voice pattern to match that of the engineering he had knocked out. "Since when?" the voice behind him interrogated. "Oh, you don't. I always thought you did, no wonder it always takes me longer than everyone else," he was stalling for time while he tried to finish up this new method he thought would work. Jet's internal sensors lit up as he detected the engineering starting to move his way, "I don't remember you ever..." "I'll get right on that boss, sorry for the confusion," Jet cut him off quickly and shuffled out the door without even turning toward the man. Looks like he would have to do some grunt work before he tested out this new method. [/RP] [ 04-26-2001: Message edited by: Commander Zeke Stone ]
  12. Looks good Shingen. This thread is turning into a great story. Spring is here and now I start writing on my novel in an outdoor scene . Anyway, I will probably post something tonight, just as soon as I get a couple things done. Hmm, too quiet in this room ::Pops in Dave Mathews CD:: That's more like it Now if only I could find out where Caine ran off too, my limping, blind character is waiting to escorted to the medbay. At least I still have another character... I've rambled long enough
  13. Sorry I took so long to post this. I was typing it up last night and this lightning storm came out of nowhere, I heard a snap, crackle and pop type thing, my modem disconnected and I could feel static electricity emanating from my keyboard. Of course my first thought was "oh ****" and I performed an emergency shutdown via the power switch, so I lost the story. But here it is again : [RP] 05:50 hrs, 12th May, 3008 Defender Class Vessel, UCV Thyella Cockpit "Don't take all day. Deathstrike out." It was decision making time for Falx, he could either board the DeathStrike, float around in space and wait for someone else, or find another way. Each decision had a good side and a bad side, just like any other decision he had ever made. Docking with the Deathstrike would involve intrusting his ship and his life in the hands of a Gammulan. He had never in his life met a Gammulan who had honor, the same could be said for every Valkerie he had ever met as well. This Commander had said that he was Terran and he certainly did have some differences than most Gams, but that was just the kind of trick a Gammulan would try to pull on some unsuspecting sap. Docking would also mean a higher risk of his cargo being discovered. Sure he had it well hidden beneath some minerals, but some nosey engineer could start scanning his cargo with a high quality scanner. This did not seem to bother him as much as trusting a Gam did, he had been raised in a society who Generally disliked Gammulans and Valkerie. His birth parents were very loyal warriors of the Valkerie Military. In fact they were so loyal that his mother remained on active duty during pregnacy, this is how his mother ended up dead and he ended up being raised by Mandorians. Of course over the years the Mandorians dislike for Gams and Valkerie washed onto him, especially when the Valkerie starting fighting with the Mandorians for control of Rinaal. What if I refuse him? Could I last out here in the Centris region until I repair Thyella myself? Not likely with that Galcom station nearby, they had undoubtedly noticed him allready. Why hadn't they sent a ship for him yet? Everwhere Falx looked things seemed to be stranger than usual, a Gam offering help, an undesignated Megaron nearby, Orion HQ not sending a ship to arrest him, even after he activated his SOS. On top of all of that there was a weird feeling in the air, Falx couldn't quite put his finger on it, but he knew it was there. Falx re-opened the link to the DeathStrike, Show no fear, he reminded himself. The Gammulan Commander was sitting in his command chair taping his fingers in a rythmical manner. Like any proud warrior, Shingen stood at the sight of Falx. Falx would have done the same, but then his head would not have been visible on the view screen. Instead Falx simply nodded respectfully and starting speaking. "I have decided to dock with that big ship of yers. I have never met a Gammulan worth trusting, but I let's see if we can change that number, allright? We should agree on a good price after yer fellas have taken a peak at this old beater of mine." Falx noticed that Commander Shingen did not appear to have a full crew on the ship, a good sign that he was indeed an Indie. 14. I do think we should start another thread for notes. As for our meeting, well to tell you the truth I don't actually have a sub-plot of any sorts yet, I was going to develope that as things move along. But my character is not likely to tell anyone anything about his current contract (assuming he has one, not sure yet ) or anything about himself or cargo until he either trusts you and feels he needs your help or until he absalutely has to. Quite a paranoid Valkerie I can write the meeting if you want but certain decisions I would have to leave up to you.
  15. **Note: I have changed my characters height from 6 feet to 5 feet. A little advise from Fleet Cmdr. Savage. ** [RP] 05:35 hrs, 12th May, 3008 Defender Class Vessel UCV-Thyella Aft Section Falx was starting to open up a panel leading to sensors, he wasn't quite sure exactly what was wrong. BEEP . . . BEEP . . . BEEP He quickly realized that someone had hailed him and walked over to the operating console. Actually he merely had to turn around, the back of the ship was so small and cramped. Bringing the hail up he could see that it was coming from a Solnar Heavy Cruiser designated UCV-DeathStrike. Though he could not reply to the hail until he got the sensors working. Back to the panel he took off the remaining two screws and took a look inside. Falx had to flick on his small flashlight as the power went off once again. Looked like a couple of burnt wires and a fried resistor. Five minutes later the Valkerie was sitting in his pilot seat sending a reply message. The main console, surprising was the other console not spitting out sparks on a regular basis. Falx did not want the person asking to many questions about what happened to him or what he was carrying, so he decided to make something up ahead of time. His message stated: This is Commander Falx of the Defender Class Fighter, UCV-Thyella. I was attacked by a group of Pirates in a Warmonger. My vessel is severally damaged and I need immediate repairs. Willing to pay your crew for repairs, transportation and protection, would prefer to avoid Galcom interference. I am carrying some minerals which I would prefer is left alone. Falx out After sending the message he scanned the area to see where he was and what was around him. There was a undesignated Megaron near to the DeathStrike. A military vessel. Could be a trap, nah, they wouldn't need to set up a trap on me right now. This thought re-assured Falx a bit, but he still didn't like the look of this whole situation. Besides that there was merely Terran/Trader LRT-10 designated UCV-Tidal Wave, which just entered the region from Tramis. Actually his scanners were so damaged at the momment he could not even see the jumpgates, he just knew the region well. He also took note that he had somehow ended up in Centris. [/RP] Not sure what system you are in Outlaw, you merely put Alpha Centauri. So I covered myself accordingly --------------- Commander Falx (Valkerie/Mercenary) UCV-Thyella (Defender) "Life is either a daring adventure or nothing." 16. Ouch, poor Edson Dang giants, always out to get us. [RP] 19th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Cargobay One Before the man could answer him someone began a speech behind him and Zeke instinctively turned around, even though it was not necessary. As the Commander listened to the man talking, who he assumed to be either Fleet Commander Savage or Insurgent One, he felt his luck changing. Zeke had succeeded in his mission, he knew what these people were up to, now all he had to do was find a way to profit off of it. "Damned if I know sport, I just got here. Hell, I don't even know where 'here' is right now," the man finally responded after speech giver was finished. Commander Stone was about to ask the guy if he could at least point him toward a door when the guy continued with, "Tell you what. If I help you get to a med bay, will you help me get a message out? I don't care how, but I need to contact my ship. Judging from what's going on, these clowns are going to need help, which means I can still make something of this." Still make something . . . Clowns . . . my ship. Plus he did not know where the medibay was. Of course, this guy must have been a merc. But how did he get invloved in this whole mess? Did he have a contract I didn't know about or maybe the same one as me? After taking a couple seconds to think Zeke said, "Sure, I can help you. If this is a Galcom ship I know how to hack into it." "Follow me my good man." the Merc responded. After a few seconds he began to walk away and Zeke quietly limped after him, following the sound of his footsteps. As he followed he thought he heard what sounded like the thump of someone hitting the hard steel floor. 19th May, 3008 GCV McKendrick Interceptor Bay 1 There were about 7 Engineers wandering in Engineering according to Jet's bioscans. As he waited, one of them finally came out and headed in the direction of Jet's location. "Who are you?" the man questioned as he walked into the Interceptor Bay. Thompson didn't reply, he merely raised his rifle and stunned the man. A few minutes later Jet stepped out of the Interceptor bay in a new Galcom uniform. He had placed the unsuspecting engineer in the Interceptor. Pulling down a cap he had taken from the guy Thompson made his way into engineering. Only one of them glanced up from his work, but didn't seem to notice the same engineer didn't come back. Thompson made his way over to one of the computers and went to work on his new plan. 17. Okay, now that I have the editing done with, on with the writing! [RP] 0500 hrs, 12th May, 3008 Aboard Defender Class Vessel, UCV Thyella Aft Section "Damn!" the Valkerie yelled after shocking himself. Falx was laying under computer terimnal attempting to splice to wires together. This was the last step in bringing the comms system back online. He had a barrel fire going in an attempt to heat the small ship. He found this to be the only method of heating the ship as the enviromental controls were damaged beyond repair. Falx was just happy that the artificial gravity and life support was still operating. The ship was running off of the solar reactor and therefor everything went offline everytime the rotating ship was pointing it's solar panels away from the sun. Falx had attempted to calculate approximately when this would occur but since the ship was rotating on three axis it was next to impossible without a computer. The last wire was connected now and the old merc merely had to activate the comms via one of the only consoles not spitting out sparks on a regular basis. When he activated the comms a couple of monitors and panels burst and sparked more violently than usual. Damn overloads. Come on old girl, hold it together for just a little longer. Falx tried to keep a positive mind as he ran a few system checks to make sure the comms were working. Gratified to find that they were he began to emmit an SOS signal, hoping some Merc looking for easy cash or maybe a nice Trader would want give him a hand. What he didn't want was Galcom help, as he was wanted by them for abducting one of their Commanders. Now, onto the sensors. I want to be able to see whats out there. 18. [RP] 19th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Cargobay One "Hey, watch where you're goin would ya? Where's the fire?" the man he ran into said angrilly, then added, "You blind or something?" There is no way he could have been mistaken for a Galcom or Insurgent Officer. Maybe the guy thought he was one of the Mercs hired for the mission. Zeke decided to take advantage of this distorted fact and turned to face the man. Hopefully this guy did not know what the other mercs looked like or saw any wanted messages from Galcom, if so Zeke's opaque eye would more than likely give him away. "Sorry about that, never been transported before. I was blinded by a blast from one of them Gams that boarded, could you point toward the door so I can try and find the medibay?" Zeke was holding back the urge to shoot something as he said this, the whole blindness deal was getting on his nerves. [/RP] heh heh, things are getting increasing interresting.
  19. [RP] 19th May, 3008 Modified Shuttle Craft from UCV-Susceptor "Where are they?!" Lt. Commander Jake Burke shouted at the computer angrily, pounding his fist on the console. A small countdown in the upper right hand corner of the screen was estimating 30 seconds before the ship collapsed. As if responding to his angry yell the computer indicated that he was receiving a hail from the Vulture. He quickly read over the message: Zeke is in a crowded room, can't get to him. Can get a hook up through the transporters. Awaiting orders. Jake began to type up a responce message when he noticed a strange power spike on his scanners. He temporarily switched to active radar and got a very dim readout of something out there, a cloaked ship possibly. He also spotted a silent runner simingly heading towards the unknown. The Fleet Commander may have organized a rescue operation. Jake sent the following reply message as he watched the timer pass the 15 second mark. 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Transporter Room Jet wasn't too sure if he was happy about his orders or not but he followed them. The reply message was clear and simple: Abandon Ship! "Condit . . . AS. All ha . . . abandon sh . . . rep . . . ndon ship. Th . . . is not . . . ill. . . .S. All han . . . , abandon . . ." Jet listened to the repeating staticed message from the computer, he got the gist of it. He was silently counting down the death of his friend in his own head. Thompson was still trying to restrain himself from going to try and save his friend, even though he knew he would never make it in time. 5, 4, 3 . . . Jet finished the final touches on the transporter hook up and stepped in. He always wanted to know what the transporter effect felt like, unfortunately his android body wasn't that sophisticated. When his vision became clear again the first thing he noticed was the lack of Mr. Burke. On the other side of the room he spotted Zeke through the mess of people. His Commander was pointing his wrist laser at the wall for some odd reason. Jet spotted an exit beside him and slipped out, tossing the marine guarding it on the other side into a nearby wall. He ran down the corridor and disappeared into a turbolift. 19th May, 3008 GCV-McKendrick Cargo Bay The familar tingling sensation from the transporter ceased and Zeke jumped to his feet. Biting his lip to stop himself from crying out as he landed on his bad leg the Merc then proceeded raise his wrist laser and point it about frantically. He was panicking, not knowing who or what was around him or even where he was now. After failing to point everywhere at once he focused on one spot, hoping he was threatening someone. "Glad you could join us, Karl." a voice behind him stated and he turned towards it. "Glad to be joined." another voice responded, "Any chance you're boys could drop the firepower? I think you'll find we're all on friendly terms these days." Firepower! Uh-oh, wait he ordered them to lower them, must not of saw me yet. Maybe no one did Zeke slowly backed away from the voices until he ran into someone. He froze. [/RP] If no one wants me bumping into them I will use a NPC. I didn't figure a blind merc was going to get far on a Galcom Battlecruiser [ 04-19-2001: Message edited by: Commander Zeke Stone ]

  21. Allright, here my introduction to this story and this galaxy for that matter [RP] 03:30 hrs, 12th May, 3008 Hyperspace Aboard Defender Class Vessel, SS Thyella Nearing Centris, Alpha Centauri Sparks were errupting from every which direction, most systems were offline, disabled or destroyed. Life support was barely holding up and the UCV Thyella would be lucky if her Inertial Compensator and Structural Integrity Field held up upon exiting Hyperspace. Her Pilot lay at the front of the small bridge, he was the only sentient aboard. Falx alas' came out of his unconscious state and was terrified to discover that they were still in Hyperspace. Quickly rising to his full five feet the Valkerie began to shout orders to the ship, "Computer! Why the hell is the Jump Drive still active! Drop out of Hyperspace now!" There was a few second of silence when all that could be heard was the sparking of computer consoles and the Jump Drive itself. Falx now knew that either the main computer was offline or the voice recognition systems. His grey, Raptor hands grazed the main console, pressing various buttons until the ship was abruptly shoved out of Hyperspace. The black void of space was replaced by a rather unstable Jump Anamoly. Coming to a complete stop within a matter of seconds pressed both the SIF and IC to their limit. Of course if these failed the ship would be torn apart and any unlucky occupants would be splattered into the nearest bolted down object. Luckily for Falx, this did not happen, although the SIF was redlined after the ship came to an almost dead stop. The SS Thyella was now rotating on three axis and anyone within the area who had sufficient scanners could clearly see she was disabled. Falx attempted to scan for anything in the vicinity but the scanners were severally damaged. Enviromental controls were obvoiusly damaged or destroyed as Falx found it hard to move his stiff, frozen muscles. Several monitors and panels were ice glazed and the small Valkerie was lucky to have survived this long. All he could see out the main viewer were distant stars and a white planet which he thought could have been a number of planets, he was too far away to be any more specific. "At least this means there is a sun nearby," Falx quietly muttered to himself. It was time to get this crate fixed up and before some nearby resident didn't like the look of him. [/RP] I was unsure of what the Valkerie look like for sure, so I took a couple of guesses. If anything is incorrect please do inform me. 22. [RP] 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engineering Tube, Deck 2 As he sat there and listened, he quickly became annoyed with them for not giving away their mission. Is it getting colder in here? Zeke suddenly heard a large clanking noise and felt something sliding over the opening. They were sealing it off! Did they find me? The Commander was well aware that this only occured if there was a hull breach and judging by the strange warning klaxxons this was indeed the case. Zeke had to think very, very quickly. Stay in the tube and possibly die from lack of air, maybe get sucked into space through a small hole or jump out into the obviously crowded room and risk capture. Zeke kicked the grate off and flopped out, almost getting his foot crushed by the sealing hatch in the process. 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engine Room Jet snatched his explosive up again and ran as fast as his mechanical legs would carry him back to the sealed Engine room door. 1 minute until this deck was done for. As he ran he heard an explosion ahead, no time to figure out what it was now, just time to run. When he reached the door there was allready a hole in it which he promptly went through without hardly losing speed. 45 seconds. Up ahead he spotted the merc who had shot him, it must have been the merc who blew a hole in the door. The man was struggling to get the turbolift door open, Jet shoved the man aside and rapidly tore the door open. The two men began climbing the emergency ladder alongside the turbolift's route, there was no time to see if it was working or not. 30 seconds. 23. Deck 3, uh-oh. Say Ben, are you in Engineering or the engine room, because last I checked Nimitz sealed off the engine room. [RP] 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engine Room What a nightmare this had turned into, Zeke wasn't sure what was going on. He had taken a couple of hours to detour into an unused section of the engine room and attempt to repair his bionic eye. This was after that crazy man had tried to kill him again, he barely escaped with his life and wasn't sure whether he had actually lost the man or not. After what Zeke estimated to be three hours of fiddling with his eye he popped it back into his face and decided not to waste anymore time. So he trudged on, blindly, in search of nothing in paticular, his CSO maybe. He managed to retrace his steps back to the ventilation shaft he had located, so he climbed in. As he crawled through the cold, damp shaft he could feel a slight breeze on his face. Then Zeke's hand landed on something wet and slimy, he slipped, his chin made contact with the cold steel. "Damn it!" he cried out in anger. Continuing down the shaft he came to a fork in the road and quickly decided to go right. A ways down in this direction he felt the shaft slanting upward, it went on like this for a ways. Whoever designed this ship must have been expecting people to crawl around in the ventilation shafts. Zeke came to a grate and was about to knock it open when he heard someone yell. "Caine, get your butt over here and give us a hand with these people!" This stopped him cold as he decided this would be the perfect area to listen in, in hopes of overhearing something of their mission. Off in the backround he could hear klaxxons sounding and wondered why this was. Then it hit him, vent shafts don't slant they go straight up, he must be in some sort of engineering tunnel or something else. Damnit, I certainly don't miss being blind [/RP] I was about to put Jeffrey's Tube, but that's Star Trek [RP] 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engine Room A screwdriver! The thought was still amuzing Jet when he found the last component on his list. The attack had merely cut his fake human flesh and maybe scratched the Titanium plating beneath. After Nimitz had run off to who knows where Jet had started to follow, figuring the man was chasing down his Commander. It was not long until he discovered the three of them were not alone. When he rounded a corner the Science Officer was attacked from behind, one blast to his back sent him into a computer console. He did managed to restrain the Merc who attacked him with a shot from his Rifle on stun mode. Unfortunately the Merc's shot had hit a bad place for him, his mobility was seriously damaged and he soon lost Nimitz. It took Jet an hour to mostly repair himself, just a few tics left over. A long search for Nimitz came up with nothing but the sealed engine room door, it was at this point when Jet decided to assembled a small explosive to pierce the door. An hour after finding all the parts he needed he had the thing ready too. "SIF failure occurring on all decks. Estimate structural collapse in 5 minutes, 30 seconds." This warning annoyed Jet tremendously, because he might not be able to use his explosive. He gavered up his explosive and went to the nearest computer console. Once again hacking into the mainframe he found the computer not be lieing, this certainly was not good. Even worse was he was on a deck that would collapse approximately 2 minutes from now. Then something good happened, everything suddenly got a lot quieter and his sensors came back to almost 100%. A split second later he knew where everyone on the ship was, including Zeke. Back to the ships computer he used it's sensors to quickly scan for his cloaking device and then stopped it, hopefully before anyone else saw the UCV-Susceptor's modified shuttle. Next he opened a private channel to Jake and awaited a responce. 19th May, 3008 Modified shuttle craft from UCV-Susceptor Jake was awakened by the computers voice, "Incoming message on private channel, voice only, origin unknown." He tapped the console and the voice of his comrad Jet was heard, Jake was relieved to hear he was okay but wondered why it wasn't Zeke making the call. "Jake, right now I am so glad you disobedied a direct order. This tub's SIF Field is about to collapse and I don't want to be on it when this happens. Can you get a lock on me and Zeke?" Jet said, rather quickly. "Not with this shuttle I can't, unless you are in the transporter room of that ship. The only other way is if I had a direct link to their main computer. Where is Zeke?" Jake responded. "He seems to be in a ventilation shaft, I don't know if he knows what is happening to this ship. That is what I thought too, thanks Jake. Keep a look out for us trying to get off this ship, right now I need to get off this deck, it's going to collapse in about a minute. Jet out." before Jake could say anything else the channel closed and Jake was again left in silence, surrounded by to many ships to be comfortable at all now. [/RP] There, I am all caught up again Well Mikel, I wrote where my characters went but tried to avoid saying what came of yours, but if you have any quarry with this I can edit it.
  24. I can see where you fellas are coming from and personally I never feel a story is long enough, but that's just me. Anyway let's just remember not to rush our writings in order to quicken the plot (there are other ways). Because rushing a story is like shouting "Macbeth" at the top of your lungs on opening night. ------------------ Commander Zeke Stone, Mercenary UCV-Susceptor - "Hope sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible."
  25. Well, we got three mercs. At least we're growing [RP] 11:58 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engine Room The door Zeke had gone through seemed to have lead to another hallway. It seemed rather long to Zeke who has hobbling along against the left wall. He could here something ahead now, like someone pressing buttons on a terminal, could be Jet. "Don't move," when hearing this Zeke froze and raised his rifle, unsure of what to do or who was talking to who. After a minute or so he didn't hear anything else and was considering calling out. This probably would not be a great idea, if the person hadn't spotted him yet he could soon have a gun pointed at him and not know it. Now Zeke thought it would be best to head back the way he came, he had passed a door not too long ago. 12:01 hrs, 19th May, 3008 Modified LRT-15 Transport SS Vulture Engine Room Total sensor blackout, that is what Jet seemed to be experiencing, and at the worst possible time. He didn't know who was behind him, what sort of weapon they had or even how far away they were. Jet heard something else down the hallway behind him, might be Zeke. He didn't dare turn to see, wouldn't want to give away Zeke's position if it was him. Now he heard a shuffling of feet from the direction of the the man Jet assumed had a weapon. It's now or never Jet thought to himself and performed a sort of sideways backflip away from the man with the weapon. While he was in midair Jet quickly searched for this man, all he saw was his arm which quickly moved the rest of the way behind a crate. After landing, Jet hit the floor and rolled to the other side of the crate. He didn't get the chance to check and see if it was Zeke behind him.
