Deadly shark attack kills a 14-year-old girl
Wolferz replied to LostInSpace's topic in General Chatter
It is unfortunate anytime something like this happens to someone so young. Sffice it to say that whenever we venture into an ocean we take a long slide down the food chain. All the way to bait. From what I have gleaned from the news shark feeding frenzy, These young people were somewhere they shouldn't have been. Beyond a natural sand barrier that keeps the predators away from the beach. If I want to go swimming I do so in a pool. At least there I can see what's in the water and I can be 100% sure that I'm not going to be eaten. I can only express my condolences for the young lady's family in their time of grief and pain. -
I can't and won't speak for a now dead daddy. One who apparently committed suicide by cop. Was it the judicial sytem's fault? More than likely. I say that only because the courts seem to weigh the balance against the fathers. Add in a vindictive ex spouse and you have a recipe that bakes this kind of cake. I have many friends who have been raked over the coals by their ex wives, even to the point of costing the father his job. Did these women want their children supported? I'm sure they did but, somewhere along the line these girls snapped and went into payback mode, even to the detriment of their own kids, in an effort to not only bilk the father out of his money but to have him imprisoned for non support. My ex tried to run me through the same wringer. Her only mistake was underestimating my love for my children and my tenacity for seeing things through to a positive end. The funniest part of the whole ordeal was getting a letter from the state, telling me that I owed $xxxxx.xx amount of money in unpaid child support. The kids were in my custody the whole time Nobody can tell me that the system works in an impartial manner. The majority of lawyers in this country are paid to skew the truth in the favor of their clients and the majority of judges began as lawyers. Fair and impartial judiciary? Not in a million years will that ever occur!
-
Not worth watching. Just more government news media manipulation. They will look for anything and everything to blame for their own failures. By failure I mean public education. I taught my kids right from wrong and it stuck in their minds when I told them, at the age of twelve, "that if they ever crossed the line and got caught...Don't call me from jail looking for a bailout. You got yourself in there and you can get yourself out." I never had a problem with them doing things like these jugheads. My daughter found out the hard way unfortunately, by getting into a fight with another girl. I wouldn't have intervened except for the fact that they were fighting in the hallway of the complex. The opponent had several friends with her and they were goading things on. Until I stepped out the door and ordered them to cease. They didn't stop until I had grabbed both combatants by the neck and pinned them against the wall. was the reaction from all involved. The only casualty was some pride I think, but I never had another problem.

Forget the orange jumpsuits. Time to take the old pillory and stocks out of mothballs methinks. Slap a few of these jugheads in the stocks for a day or two, along with their parents and I bet it stops very quickly. Especially after the culprits have soiled themselves because they have no way of going to the potty. I think a few days of smelling one's own stench would go a long way toward motivating these kids to straighten up and fly right.

Man leaves no stone unturned when it comes to crapping up the environment. Even on the really big stones. I'm glad I don't clmb mountains. -

Joel, Mister Gates is slowly selling off the souls of his most trusted employees. By the time the devil gets around to him, he'll have enough money to buy hell and turn it into a resort.

Two Recognition of Achievement Symbols ..... John the farmer was in the fertilized egg business. He had several hundred young layers (hens), called pullets and eight or ten roosters whose job was to fertilize the eggs. The farmer kept records and any rooster that didn't perform went into the soup pot and was replaced. This took a great deal of his time, so he bought a set of tiny bells and attached them to his roosters. Each bell had a different tone so John could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing. Now he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency report simply by listening to the bells. The farmer's favorite rooster was old Butch, a very fine specimen he was, too. But on this particular morning John noticed old Butch's bell hadn't rung at all! John went to investigate. The other roosters were chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing. The pullets, hearing the roosters coming, would run for cover. But to Farmer John's amazement, Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn't ring. He'd sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one. John was so proud of Butch, he entered him in the county fair and Butch became an overnight sensation among the judges. The result...The! judges not only awarded Butch the "No Bell Piece Prize" but they also awarded him the "Pulletsurprise" as well. Clearly Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most highly coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the populace and screwing them when they weren't paying attention?

Puh, Pizzonem. They burn our flag in their streets. Do we care? It's just a flag. The Quran? It's just a book written by men and they miss the big picture like every other religious fanatic on the planet. They can keep fooling themselves with a Holier than thou attitude. It won't save them from their own inequaties nor will it excuse them from placing an inanimate object above God. The only way to battle hatred is with love. Our only mistake is we keep loving them with our weapons. Loving them to death baby!

LOL Darkling, Lemme see, I take my ship and crew that I have spent literally days building up and go try and get snuffed on purpose? Sounds like fun

quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: Ralph Nader, socialist extraordinaire, I take whatever he says, and believe the opposite, because the man is just plain OUT THERE.... IOW, he's a fricking political hack and IDIOT!! Hmm, Totally negative opinion there my friend. I can only conclude that the brainwashing of America is complete when intelligent people stoop to calling other people names when their opinions don't match our own or they don't match with the herd mentality that is being propogated from the halls of DC. It is every American's solemn duty to question the actions of our leaders. Thats what freedom is all about. After all, it is We the people who put them in the hot seat to begin with and if they don't follow the moral and ethical procedures laid down by the founding fathers, or they attack our constitution and our very freedoms, then they should get what they deserve for stabbing us all in the back. A nice strong length of hemp rope with a noose comes to mind for the folks who are becoming rich off of We the People. One could look at it this way... There is no "I" in the word Team, but you can extract the word "ME" from it.

Nice find Jamotto, But, those of us with eyes knew this already. Now, if Mr Nader and Mr Zeese continue to press this matter, watch what happens to them.

In addition to the specs mentioned, be sure you have a clean OS install, Disc cleaned, defragged, etc etc. I only run the game from a fresh reboot and I shut down anything that gets started and runs in the toolbar. Winblows and their automated OS for dummies is nothing more than bloatware designed for a sole purpose... TO MAKE YOUR MACHINE RUN LIKE A DOG WITH NO LEGS. It's incentive for you to go buy the latest and greatest hardware. So, ya think Gates and Co. are in cahoots with the hardware guys? YOU BETCHA!

Sometimes it's like a herd of panicked Wildebeasts trying to cross a Crocodile infested stream. Most make it but, some become reptile appetizers. Safety in numbers has always been the way that nature deals with weakness. Nothing Gnu here, move along

It's not hard to fathom that the Phantom will be another major phlop. Especially when you consider the Phlim Phlam man behind it. I laugh at the gullibility of those who bought into it. The concept might have been viable if it were done by a reputable company. I'm with Grayfox on this one. Even if we all take our dollar and perform personal hygiene with it, we would at least have something to show for it. I would sell my crappy buck on Ebay, stating that some famous actor had wiped his hiney with it. I have but one word for the Phantom....Phooey! I'm through typing now, can't see for the tears of laughter in my eyes. This is very painful as my sides are splitting.

The new US RealID passes the senate
Wolferz replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Politics, Religion & Legal etc
LIS, The States wouldn't dare oppose it since their Federal highway dollars would dry up over night. It's just another halfbaked Patriot game to make some jerk look good to himself, keep closer tabs on the citizens, and add another stream of bureaucratic red tape and money grabbing. I'm sure all of the illegal aliens in this country would love a minimum wage job at the NEW Department of REAL IDs. Why not? It will have Federal benefits. So, they roll it out. What happens next? Law enforcement begins random checkpoints looking for miscreants who have not or can not comply with the regulation and then it's off to jail with them. Probably be charged as terrorists to boot. I think I'll have my private Social Security account invested in prison industries because they are about to have an extreme jump in productivity from all the new slaves that Uncle Bush and crew are going to be sending in. Welcome to Nazi America. -

I'm sure the PNAC is rejoicing over their victory on this one. America a Free country? It hasn't been free since December 7th, 1941. Oh guess what... The National ID has already been shaped by the Dept of Homeland surveillance, errr Security and the pilot project ID's are being issued as we speak, in the form of Commercial Drivers Licenses. Remember my thread on those? Embedded chips and tatoos are next. Mark of the beast anyone? Only $125.00 for the peace of mind of false security. It isn't the terrorists we have to worry about now. Watch America roll over and play stupid, errr dead. -
ROTFLMAO What did you expect? A nice Parasail drop into Los Angeles?

A Kilobyte= 1024 bytes or 8,192 bits. My DSL is rated at 1.5 million bits per second downstream. In the optimum environment you could see all of that speed. But in reality, you will only see @ 80 % of it due to lag caused by network traffic and other factors. I usually see download speeds in the 156 KB/s range. Sometimes higher. What you really want to pay attention to is the abbreviations. IE: KB/s is Kilobytes per second as opposed to Kb/s which is Killobits per second. Isn't Octal fun? All of this Octal goodness brought to you by a miracle of modern electronics called the Universal Asynchronous Reciever Transmitter. UART for short. I was required to build one in electronics school, on a bread board, using discreet components, It had four LEDs and would add in binary up to 16 by pushing a button. Mine was the only one that worked. LOL The school bought cheap components. I bought my own. Freaked the instructor out when he asked me why mine worked and no others did. "Simple" I told him. He did his best Tim the Toolman uuuuuh? "Switch bounce ya moron" He then did his best to come up with a switch debouncer circuit. Unfortunately there wasn't enough room left on the boards to install it. SOB tried to flunk me after that LOL He failed.

quote: : by Cmdr Chavik :Thank you. I would argue that a TRUE Ponzi is one with intent to defraud and the wikipedia article is mostly correct when it states that SS is not Ponzi because we all know what it is. Considering a report in the NY Times on the subject that stated "The Federal Government has borrowed 3.2 trillion dollars from the SS fund since it's inception kind of leads me to believe that it is a PONZI scheme because, taking everyone's money and diverting it for other uses is about as shady as it gets. I would call that defrauding future retirees. The system at its most basic terms was a grand idea that would have worked as intended had the critters not dipped their sticky fingers into it. Now, Bush is promoting the hatching of a new scheme for Social Security. He sings. He dances. He slam dunks us, again! Bush continues to spout this rhetoric about what's going to happen when us Baby Boomers retire and start drawing our promised funds and how there won't be enough cash inflow to cover the payouts. If anyone buys that load of Hill Hogwash then they are just as much a Rah Rah Retard as the seller. Q: So what happened to all the money we Baby Boomers have been paying in all these years? A: Uncle Sam stole it. Q: Are the Hill Critters really of the opinion that the Baby Boomers aren't going to be replaced in the workforce? A: Yeah, they probably are since they seem to be doing everything in their power to assist Corporate America in screwing the working man. And fouling up the economy to boot. I have stated my suggestion for fixing the problem so I won't be redundant and say it again. All I can say is " Bend over Baby Boomers"
