In regard to your Video Aperture setting, That one should be a figure equal to half of the amount of memory on your video card. Your specs lists 256 MB so te aperture should be set to 128. Glad you got it running .

But, Computers are very much like automobiles. It is very difficult to diagnose a problem without having the machine right in front of you and it won't be feasible to send your rig to me. I can only suggest that you comb through every inch of your rig, get rid of all non-Microsoft utilities and double check all of your settings in BIOS. Good luck and let us know how it's going.

The only problem I have with Cell Phone use is when people are using them while driving their car. Most states have seldomly used laws against using them while operating a motor vehicle. I think it would be an excellent idea to install very short range jammers that shut off only when the speedometer reads zero in every vehicle made. That is the only legitimate use I can think of for these devices.

Asso, It sounds like you either have an incorrect setting in your BIOS or your machine has a PCI video card. Did you construct this machine yourself? Your BIOS version isn't listed in your profile so I can't nail it down to one thing. A copy of your DXDIAG results would help immensely. Please send it via PM.

It may not be the resources under the auspices of the US Forest Service that were used, but the monies paid for outside help brought in to battle the blaze that they want the guy to pay for. It's actually quite hypocritical, seeing as how the Forest service, in the recent past, attempted a controlled burn in one park, that got away from them when the wind changed direction. From the report I saw on that one, alot of residents on the edge of the park lost their homes and a number of Smoke Jumpers lost their lives. I don't know of anyone responsible for that mistake being sued for the cost of putting it out. Or even jailed for involuntary manslaughter. I'm sure our tax dollars went a long way toward rebuilding some homes and now you can add in SSA monies being paid to the families of the firefighters that died. Granted, it was stupid for the man to do what he did. None of us are perfect. If we have no capacity to forgive others for their mistakes, then we can not expect forgiveness from others for ours. After you boil it down to the most common denominator, it doesn't replace the trees and it certainly won't pay the damages. Nor will it prevent some other moreoff from acting irresponsibly. Instead it's just more money poured into a judicial system that is controlled by greedy scheisters, for greedy scheisters. Mother Nature will take care of replacing the forest same as she always does and the rest of us will cover the cost of extinguishing the fire, and now they add insult to injury by spending more money on a kangaroo court case. I wonder if they have ever considered running a sprinkler line through dried timber? Just enough to create a fire break, not sprinkle the whole forest.

Our local government used to collect $10.00 a year from everyone who has a job. It was labeled as an OPT...Occupational Priveledge Tax. Only problem is, if you change employer, you pay the tax again. Now they have upped the ante to, work here, to $52.00 a year and the real kicker is that they are now arguing in session on what type of income they can legally levy this tax on. They want to include all types of income, not just wages. So if a resident lives here and recieves any type of income, they want $52.00 of it a year, for Police and Ambulance services. I'm thinking that it might be time to pull my Anarchist Cookbook out of the bookcase and start locking and loading. FIRE FOR EFFECT! (no pun intended)

"Why did a supposedly professional officer of the law allow a suspected criminal, in custody mind you, to grab his weapon? [*]. Wal-Mart is just another cog in the American Corporate-economic juggernaught. It wasn't like this under the hand of it's founder Sam Walton. He put a bid into the Toyota plant in Georgetown, Ky. to make a certain part for their cars. He related to me a discussion he had with the management at Toyota regarding the bid. They asked him "How much will your price decrease over time.?" Naturally he questioned their question.."What do you mean by decrease over time?"?" Their reply was, "As your company becomes more proficient, the increase in efficiency should include a decrease in price." His final reply was, "Have the prices you charge for your cars decreased in the same fashion?" There it is boys and girls. Others have called it the voice of your spirit guide. Mine has led me directly to places I have never been before. For example; I worked as a field technician and was always traveling to facilities that were out in the boonies. If I made a wrong turn along the way, there was always this feeling within me that informed me of the mistake in navigation. This has happened to me too many times to call it a fluke of the imagination. I had coworkers who noticed this when they travelled with me. Some were even spooked by it. LOL Another example; A friend of mine was attempting to light a campfire with gasoline. He had poured the fuel on the wood and let it soak in as if it were charcoal. He lit a match and tossed it into the pile, the match went out on the way down, so he lit another match and tossed it in. He then leaned over the woodpile, peering into the tangle of tree parts, looking for the match to see if it went out. At that very moment in time I got that odd feeling again and grabbed him by the collar and pulled him back from the pile. The gasoline ignited into a fireball that would have engulfed him. Unfortunately there were two other friends slightly downwind from the pile and they were standing in a large area of gasoline vapor which also ignited. Luckily they only recieved some singed leg hairs. Time is an interesting concept. I have read articles that theorize that the Earth bends space time as it travels around the sun. Kind of like a bowling ball rolling on a trampoline. Bending the space-time fabric might be possible in the future as we continue to discover new principles of applied magnetics.
