LOL, Is that why it's called "Flori-duh" Oh, wait, I shouldn't say that, I have read of laws in other states that are even more inane than those.

quote: Originally posted by Kalshion: in other words. The committee is above the law = NO ONE should be above the law I was referring to the interviewees, not the interviewers on the panel. Sorry if I caused any confusion. The Honorable *cough* *choke* Mr Bush and his cabinet have been very adept at delaying their apearance before the committee. I can only ask, why? I can only assume, to buy enough time to doctor everything up to give the appearance of innocence. You are absolutely correct that no one should be above the law but, our lawmakers think they are. "The law grinds the poor and the rich control the law" I read an interesting story in the NY Times this morning about a book written by an author named Lincoln Steffens, circa 1900, The book was about government corruption in cities where businessmen were elected to high office. Prior to the printing of this book, most Americans wanted to blame corruption on criminals and poor people the story said, but Mr Steffens wanted to find out the truth and took a tour of different cities around the country to see for himself. According to the article Mr Steffens found that most of the corruption, if not all of it, was due to these businessmen holding office and having a narrow point of view that did nothing for their constituents, but did increase their business profits. See a parrallel here? The Whitehouse has all the underpinnings of a house of mirrors. it has been occupied by one business man after another, except maybe Reagan, for quite some time now. Kind of hard for the committee to find the dirt on the furniture without mashing their noses on a bunch of mirrors. Sad part is, most of the members on the panel are businessmen. You do the math.

How to be seriously Annoying..... Adjust the tint on your tv so that all the people are green, and insist to others that you "like it that way". Drum on every available surface. Remove every line of someone's .newsrc file except the entry for alt.sex.fetish.hamster.duct-tape. Sing the Batman theme incessantly. Staple papers in the middle of the page. Ask 800 operators for dates. Produce a rental video consisting entirely of dire FBI copy warnings. Slip active anti-theft detector strips into people's backpacks. Hide dairy products in inaccessible places. Write the surprise ending to a novel on its first page. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go". Set alarms for random times. Learn Morse code, and have conversations with friends in public consisting entirely of "Beeeep Bip Bip Beeeep Bip..." Buy large quantities of mint dental floss just to lick the flavor off. Order a side of pork rinds with your filet mignon. Instead of Gallo, serve Night Train next Thanksgiving. Leave your Nine Inch Nails tape in Great Uncle Ed's stereo, with the volume properly adjusted. Publicly investigate just how slowly you can make a "croaking" noise. Honk and wave to strangers. Dress only in clothes colored Hunter's Orange. Change channels five minutes before the end of every show. Tape pieces of "Sweating to the Oldies" over climactic parts of rental movies. Wear your pants backwards. Decline to be seated at a restaurant, and simply eat their complimentary mints by the cash register. Begin all your sentences with "ooh la la!" Rouse your roommates from slumber each morning with Lou Reed's "Metal Machine Music". Leave someone's printer in compressed-italic-cyrillic-landscape mode. ONLY TYPE IN UPPERCASE. only type in lowercase. dont use any punctuation either Buy a large quantity of orange traffic cones and reroute whole streets. Pay for your dinner with pennies. Tie jingle bells to all your clothes. Repeat everything someone says, as a question. Write "X - BURIED TREASURE" in random spots on all of someone's roadmaps. Inform everyone you meet of your personal Kennedy assasination/UFO/OJ Simpson conspiracy theories. Repeat the following conversation a dozen times: "Do you hear that?" "What?" "Never mind, it's gone now." Light road flares on a birthday cake. Wander around the restaurant, asking other diners for their parsley. Leave tips in Bolivian currency. Demand that everyone address you as "Conquistador". Push all the flat Lego pieces together tightly. At the laundromat, use one dryer for each of your socks. When Christmas carolling, sing "Jingle Bells, Batman smells" until physically restrained. Wear a cape that says "Magnificent One". As much as possible, skip rather than walk. Stand over someone's shoulder, mumbling, as they read. Finish the 99 bottles of beer song. Sing the "This is the song that never ends..." song. (Ya know, Lamb Chops?) Leave your turn signal on for fifty miles. Pretend your mouse is a CB radio, and talk into it. Try playing the William Tell Overture by tapping on the bottom of your chin. When nearly done, announce "no, wait, I messed it up", and repeat. Drive half a block. Name your dog "Dog". Inform others that they exist only in your imagination. Ask people what gender they are. Reply to everything someone says with "that's what YOU think." Lick the filling out of all the Oreos, and place the cookie parts back in the tray. Cultivate a Norwegian accent. If Norwegian, affect a Southern Drawl. Forget the punchline to a long joke, but assure the listener it was a "real hoot". Routinely handcuff yourself to furniture, informing the curious that you don't want to fall off "in case the big one comes". Follow a few paces behind someone, spraying everything they touch with a can of Lysol. Deliberately hum songs that will remain lodged in co-workers' brains, such as "Feliz Navidad", the Archies' "Sugar Sugar" or the Mr. Rogers theme song. While making presentations, occasionally bob your head like a parakeet. Lie obviously about trivial things such as the time of day. Make beeping noises when a large person backs up. Leave your Christmas lights up and lit until September. Change your name to John Aaaaasmith for the great glory of being first in the phone book. Claim it's a Hawaiian name, and demand that people pronounce each A.Then advise them to seek treatment for their stuttering problem. Sit in your front yard pointing a hair dryer at passing cars to see if they slow down. Chew on pens that you've borrowed. Invent nonsense computer jargon in conversations and see if people play along to avoid the appearance of ignorance. Wear a LOT of cologne. Ask to "interface" with someone. Listen to 33rpm records at 45rpm speed, and claim the faster speed is necessary because of your "superior mental processing". Sing along at the opera. Mow your lawn with scissors. At a golf tournament, chant "swing-batta batta batta batta batta batta batta-suhWING-batter!" Finish all your sentences with the words "in accordance with prophesy". Ask the waitress for an extra seat for your "imaginary friend". Go to a poetry recital and ask why each poem doesn't rhyme. Ask your co-workers mysterious questions, and scribble their answers in a notebook. Mutter something about "psychological profiles". Incessantly recite annoying phrases, such as "sticky wicket isn't cricket." or "wakey wakey Eggs and Baky." Stare at static on the tv and claim you can see a "magic picture". Select the same song on the jukebox fifty times. Scuff your feet on a dry, shaggy carpet and seek out victims. Do not add any inflection to the end of your sentences, producing awkward silences with the impression that you'll be saying more any moment. Never make eye contact. Never break eye contact. Signal that a conversation is over by clamping your hands over your ears. Construct elaborate "crop circles" in your front lawn. Construct your own pretend "tricorder", and "scan" people with it, announcing the results. Give a play-by-play account of a person's every action in a nasal Howard Cossell voice. Holler random numbers while someone is counting. Make appointments for the 31st of September. Invite lots of people to other people's parties. Send fifty copies of this list to everyone you know.

Fun Things to Do in a crowded Elevator Make race car noises when anyone gets on or off. Blow your nose and offer to show the contents of your kleenex to other passengers. Grimace as if in pain while smacking your forehead and muttering: "Shut up, all of you just shut UP!" Whistle the first seven notes of "It's a Small World" incessantly. Sell Girl Scout cookies. On a long ride, sway side to side at the natural frequency of the elevator. Shave. Crack open your briefcase or purse, and while peering inside ask: "Got enough air in there?" Offer name tags to everyone getting on the elevator. Wear yours upside-down. Stand silent and motionless in the corner, facing the wall, without getting off. When arriving at your floor, grunt and strain to yank the doors open, then act embarrassed when they open by themselves. Lean over to another passenger and whisper: "Noogie patrol coming!" Greet everyone getting on the elevator with a warm handshake and ask them to call you Admiral. One word: Flatulence! On the highest floor, hold the door open and demand that it stay open until you hear the penny you dropped down the shaft go "plink" at the bottom. Do Tai Chi exercises. Stare, grinning, at another passenger for a while, and then announce: "I've got new socks on!" When at least 8 people have boarded, moan from the back: "Oh, not now, motion sickness!" Give religious tracts to each passenger. Meow occassionally. Bet the other passengers you can fit a quarter in your nose. Show other passengers a wound and ask if it looks infected. Sing "Mary had a little lamb" while continually pushing buttons. Holler "Chutes away!" whenever the elevator descends. Walk on with a cooler that says "human head" on the side. Stare at another passenger for a while, then announce "You're one of THEM!" and move to the far corner of the elevator. Burp, and then say "mmmm...tasty!" Leave a box between the doors. Ask each passenger getting on if you can push the button for them. Wear a puppet on your hand and talk to other passengers "through" it. Start a sing-along. When the elevator is silent, look around and ask "is that your beeper?" Play the harmonica. Shadow box. Say "Ding!" at each floor. Lean against the button panel. Say "I wonder what all these do" and push the red buttons. Listen to the elevator walls with a stethoscope. Draw a little square on the floor with chalk and announce to the other passengers that this is your "personal space." Bring a chair along. Take a bite of a sandwich and ask another passenger: "Wanna see whaf in muh mouf?" Blow spit bubbles. Pull your gum out of your mouth in long strings. Announce in a demonic voice: "I must find a more suitable host body." Carry a blanket and clutch it protectively. Make explosion noises when anyone presses a button. Wear "X-Ray Specs" and leer suggestively at other passengers. Stare at your thumb and say "I think it's getting larger." If anyone brushes against you, recoil and holler "Bad touch!"

The 9/11 panel can not and will not get the truth about any of this. The players are hiding in their Top Secret camouflage and will continue to play their National Security cards, aka (get out of jail free). That's the main problem with today's government. Too many secrets, which makes it all too easy for anyone in DC to do whatever the hell they want, with no fear of retribution. /puts freshly made aluminum beanie on.

The Cats Diary DAY 752 - My captors continue to taunt me with bizarre little dangling objects. They dine lavishly on fresh meat, while I am forced to eat dry cereal. The only thing that keeps me going is the hope of escape, and the mild satisfaction I get from ruining the occasional piece of furniture. Tomorrow I may eat another houseplant. DAY 761 - Today my attempt to kill my captors by weaving around their feet while they were walking almost succeeded, must try this at the top of the stairs. In an attempt to disgust and repulse these vile oppressors, I once again induced myself to vomit on their favorite chair...must try this on their bed. DAY 762 - Slept all day so that I could annoy my captors with sleep depriving, incessant pleas for food at ungodly hours of the night. DAY 765 - Decapitated a mouse and brought them the headless body, in an attempt to make them aware of what I am capable of, and to try to strike fear into their hearts. They only cooed and condescended about what a good little cat I was...Hmmm. Not working according to plan ...... DAY 768 - I am finally aware of how sadistic they are. For no good reason I was chosen for the water torture. This time however it included a burning foamy chemical called "shampoo." What sick minds could invent such a liquid? My only consolation is the piece of thumb still stuck between my teeth. DAY 771 - There was some sort of gathering of their accomplices. I was placed in solitary throughout the event. However, I could hear the noise and smell the foul odor of the glass tubes they call "beer." More importantly I overheard that my confinement was due to MY power of "allergies." Must learn what this is and how to use it to my advantage. DAY 774 - I am convinced my fellow captives are flunkies and maybe snitches. The dog is routinely released and seems more than happy to return. He is obviously a half-wit. The Bird on the other hand has got to be an informant. He has mastered their frightful tongue (something akin to mole speak) and speaks with them regularly. I am certain he reports my every move. Due to his current placement in the metal room his safety is assured. But I can wait. It is only a matter of time before I silence him for good.

The 9/11 panel is nothing more than a group of political vultures who want to feed their own agendas by using a terrible event. Oh, and don't forget, Jag. The Boodle Boys aren't looking to grab Iraqi oil for their own profit alone. They want it as the big cat's eye to knock OPEC's marbles out of the circle of their new World Government. It's all about controlling "ALL" the resources. The United Stated doesn't even have to worry about drilling the ANWR, now that we have a proven technology that can turn any carbon based material into oil. Technically, we could thumb our noses at OPEC right now. So the 9/11 panel is just another smokescreen to divert everyone's attention from what is really going on. You can't see the forest for the forest fire. I think I'll buy some stock in Reynolds Aluminum.

I for one see no reason to dissect this any more than it has been already. It's starting to look like vivisection and that does none of us any good. Ponting the finger of blame over a year after the fact is a ludicrous waste of time and energy. Plain and simple...We got caught with our pants down...... again. Or did we? The retribution for this heinous act is being carried out as we speak. But..... Is it directed at the right people? I still have some nagging inconsistencies rolling around in my Pons. Was it really the sole doing of Al Qaueda or was it? When I viewed the television coverage on that day a few things struck me as really odd. 1. Reports of hearing after explosions. 2.Both towers dropping like a controlled implosion. 3. No military air response to commercial aircraft disappearing from radar. It sort of reminds me of Pearl Harbor. There was a low grade officer at a listening station not far from Hawaii who was screaming bloody murder that something bad was about to happen. He was told to siddown and shaddup. Pearl Harbor was an orchestrated scenario designed to embroil the United States in WW II with resounding Senate and Congressional approval. I think if we pull all the baseboards off and shine the light of truth in there, we're going to see alot of rich little Roaches come scurrying out of the darkness. There was plenty of motive to orchestrate the attacks of 9/11 to give the green light for the invasion of Iraq and the removal of the Taliban in Afghanistan. But it wasn't Jeb's idea. He ain't smart enuff fer that. Funny thing is it's going to backfire right in the faces of those who conspired this travesty. Sure, we took Saddam out of power with the intention to return Iraq to it's people. Or did we? Now I have to ask myself.. Will OPEC sit by while we install a sovereign government in Iraq with lots of strings attached to the puppetmasters in DC(District of Connecticut)? Answer: Not likely. Opec is now on the defensive and they are doing everything they can to stir Iraq into a civil war. Iraq was not about terrorism or WMD's and never was. Saddam wouldn't get his marbles out of the bag and play nice.Soooo... The Bushies and their compadres who want to drink from that big 'ol Texas Tea spigot that Iraq is sitting on, decided to just swipe Saddam's bag of marbles and Opec wants them too. He who brings the biggest bag of marbles will rule the game. Nothing like playing a good game of Global marbles on the backs of innocent people, using a good plausible deniability cover story for the masses of course. The whole lot can go suck mud for all I care. I'm done with it. I'll just sit back and laugh at all the point-Counterpoint delusions you guys are having here in this forum I hope all of you have some really warm clothing stashed away. Nuclear Winter is gonna be a dog. [ 04-09-2004, 05:28 PM: Message edited by: Wolferz ]

Hmmmm... At 4.9 decades of age,I could write a book, but I don't wish to put more counting sheep out of work... I was an Electronics Technician/Commercial motor vehicle driver by trade, Recently sidelined from working by a stroke. I served 6 years in the US Army reserves as a 62-E(verything). I entered Basic training at the ripe old age of 33 (Grey hair and all) and proceeded to run up the asses of a bunch of lazy 18 to 21 year old kids. They called me dad in basic and Grampa in A school. I too have stopped a full bird from entering a restricted area, but I put him on his face with his hands behind his head.... in the dirt outside our TOC. Was married 17 years producing one of each. Daughter is 26, son is 25 and both have collectively produced 2 darling Grand-daughters. I am a BC-aholic like everyone else here. Hobbies: *****ing about the ignorance of our government. I used to build PC's but can't do it anymore. I'll stop here. Somebody wake up those guys in the back

quote: wasnt it a ford galaxy or something? Sort of... The very first Batmobile was a one of a kind 1955 Lincoln Futura concept car, Retrofitted by the famous Los Angeles customizer. George Barris. There were 6 replicas produced from molds of the original, for display at car shows. One was produced on a Ford Thunderbird chassis, the rest were built on a lengthened Ford Galaxie chassis. I have eyeballed some of the copies in person, they were disappointing to say the least. The current 1966 Batmobile is still owned by Mr. Barris and is worth 1 million dollars. Barris purchased the '55 Futura for $250,000. One of the few cars that came out of Detroit that didn't depreciate in value. [ 04-03-2004, 08:40 AM: Message edited by: Wolferz ]
