I personally think Warez deserve to go I have bought every single piece of software I own/use(including O/S's, Office installs and games(off course)) Warez take money from hard working devolopers who while not perfect put (in the majority of cases anyway) alot of work into their products and therefore take jobs aswell. If I'm looking to buy a new game I play the official demo(s) read the reviews listen to friends that have played the game and then decide whethar to buy it(I often go on an impulse aswell IE BC3K). If you can't afford to buy the software you want you should not have a computer simple!

TACOPS Zoom To function while observing planet or moon:
Emmett.hendrick replied to Thermidor's topic in Battlecruiser Series
If a probe or your CC is in a region you will be able to view it in your case you should be able to use the zoom to feature to zoom to your support craft if they are on a planet however you will need to observe the planet first. The quote from the VCF stops you from viewing a region that you CC or probes are not in but you do have support craft (read IC's shuttle and OC's) -
Congrats $ilk kids are one of the biggest blessings you can get.

Are enemy ships stealing my supplies?
Emmett.hendrick replied to ParadoxX013X's topic in Battlecruiser Series
Check your shuttle cargo, Intruders may try to nick some of your cargo and get away with it in your own shuttles. -
OOC: Demolition my character/AE name is James Smyth not Emmett IC: GCV Andromeda Cyron VI The Andromeda broke throught the atmosphere of the planet and joined the fleet assembled in orbit, on the bridge James sighed a slight relief but he knew this was probably far from over. He allowed himself to sit down.... "Recall our fighters and get some engineers on them as soon as there in the bay I want them ready to go again ASAP." "Sir I have commander Demolition on the line." "Put him through" "What can you do for repairs?" asked James "I got what you need, anything else?" "We need parts for the engine and we need medical supplies and are gettting a bit low on munitions at this stage aswell but the engine is the high priority" "I'll put what you need in a shuttle and send them over immedialty" Demolition replied "Thanks Andromeda out!" James flicked the comms to engineering and Faulkers voice rsponded,"Roy the parts we need are on the way can you get them installed as a matter of prioirty." "Aye Sir" James took a look at the tactical display nothing except the surronding fleet in the immediate area looking up at the bridgeviewer and then paused for a second "Helm get us nestled in-between the battle cruisers please at least until repairs are done.....Tactical situation check." "Tactical screen clear Sir but I'm not sure I think something is still out there but I can't get a fix on it" "Thank you," James replied,"Keep the ship on alert and get the parts off those shuttles asap I'll be in Medical keep me posted."

I don't believe I've ran into one with good personal hygiene yet. HEEEYyyyy! I resent that one I am a gamer have been for years I play D&d and Shadowrun regularly and play Warhammer 40K as often as I can find an opponent, I often pop into Games Workshop to top up my army. And MY personal hygiene level is excellent(my wife wouldn't stand for anything less LOL)

I really like the damage system in Shadowrun no hit points in sight instead players body attribute(which does not change without some serious training) against a damage rating that is only modified by armour. I also thought the Star Wars system was very good but none of the guys I rp with ever want to play it they say it never lives up to the films(go figure) granted I've never GM'd a Star Wars game with them and I'd love to give it a go(all my games are alway way over the top with mad twisting plot lines and greatly exagerated combat(In shadowrun I have started matrixing the combat scenes it seems to fit very well)) RPG's rock so do computers an I loose way to much time to both(so my wife says anyway now that BCM has arrived the divorce papers arrived a few days latter)

BC vets on the newbreed of newbies
Emmett.hendrick replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Universal Combat Series
Lets see newbies I suppose I'm sorta middle ground here as I'm not a newbie but don't consider myself a vet (not yet anyway)but I do fullfill some of the requirements listed above. The new group of newbies put me to shame(when I was a newbie)they are willing to learn and should give the big guns a run for their money when MP comes out. IMHO -

Myself and a few friends regularly meet up twice a week for a game of D&D. when one of the campaigns finishes we will then switch to a Shadowrun game. I don't believe the table top games will ever die actually the annual meet up and roleplay session over here (Gaelcon) is getting bigger every year I have fond memories of getting my A** kicked in a 4hour game of Warhammer 40K on the sunday. In fact there are about 6 "Cons" every year over here and they are permanently packed out and always great fun :-)

Ok here I go. Had this issue last night, Roam Scenario, Nightstar ship, launch base Lyrius.I flew to earth and decided to pound an insurgent base set wayoints for shuttles/fighters and OCs on the planet while in orbit and launched them all. One my shuttles launch my Tacops display would intermitantly switch to the bridge display but was showing the display as if I had landed on the planet(I hadn't my CC was still in orbit) this seemed to get worse once the OCs were deployed. Once it happened the only way out is to switch to bridge view(F1) and go back into TACOPS but once I select ZOOM TO - SUPPORT CRAFT - ANY OC, I would get the same view again. I have RC9 installed and have checked the VCF so hopefully I won't get shot out an airlock for this one.

GCV Andromeda Planetary Egress Cryon VI James stared at his tacops display watching intently as the Gamulan super carrier approached the huge ship was getting pounded by the other Galcom ships in the area but she was still heading straight for them. Arming four missiles and designating the Stormcarrier their target he check range to target they were just entering range just then four missile shot forth from the Darkstar heading for the Andromeda. James snapped up quickly "Now!" he yelled "shut down the engines avtivate EMD" The engines went dead and gravity immedialty took hold the Andromeda started to drop to the planet again almost immediatly, James watched with baited breath as the missiles streaked towards them and then breath a sign of relief, as did the rest of the bridge crew a they streaked accross the bow. reacting immediatly James checked the Andromda's list indeed she was falling but she had retained her heading which meant the nose of the Andromeda had Perfect bear on the Gamulan ship. James stood from his chair "FIRE!" The Andromeda's main IOD gun and Missiles opened up on the Gamulan craft streaking accross the now night sky striking at the very heart of the Giant ship. Explosions and smoke errupted from the great ship and she started to list to one side falling uncontrolably towards the surface. On the bridge of the Andromeda the Bridge crew let a yell of success as they watched the burning ship fall! "Well done!," James commented,"but most of the work was done for us. Re-engage the engines and get us out of here get two marines to a shuttle we are going to need a tow out of this system before more arrives" "Get me Demolition on the screen!"

Holly god what HaveI started LOL IC GMV Darkstar Engaged with Galcom forces Cyron VI Alarm sirens roared on the bridge as the Darkstar dove towards the planet and the approaching Andromeda ships systems were starting to give as the bridge was rocked by explosions. Shaken but undetered he stood staring at the bridgeviewer "Range!" he barked "Andromeda entering missile range now sir" "Fine dissengage the tracking systems on the missiles and fire" Four missiles shot out from the front of the giant ship arching towards the Andromeda. On the bridge he let a grin sneak on to his face as he watched the missiles.......

Clueless Newbie Questions
Emmett.hendrick replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
quote:Originally posted by JelloKing: Another newbie question... When you transport your self to a planet, is there a way to get back? It should be easy from tacops but I can't access tacops from first person. Maybe there is a way but i can't figure it out. I hope this hasn't been covered somewhere else 'cus I couldn't find any posts on the subject. Then again, that could be because the answer is obvious. You do have access to TACOPS on the planet it is ALT+S and I have used same to beam my AE back to my ship after beaming him down to the planet(check you keyboard command sheet it is on it) -
GCV Andromeda Planetary Egress Cyron VI system James stood on the bridge of the Andromeda as the great ship slowly climbed through the Atmosphere. "Sir incoming communication from Commander Demolition." "On screen! Commander pleasure to hear from you" "Commander Smyth we have engaged a gammulan Stormcarrier in orbit whats your situation?" "We have partial main power, we need repalcement parts for the hyperdrive and the engine coolant system we would appreciate any assistance you could offer!" "I'll see what we have that we can offer you, I'll contact you soon. Demolition out" James smiled as the screen cleared but the smile quickly died. "Sir. The Gammulan carrier appears to be on a collision course with us!" James jumped into his chair and pulled up his tacops, true enough the Gamulan ship was on a direct course for the Andromeda. Arming 4 missiles and designating the Gamulan as their Fatal target he raised his head. "Helm course change bring the nose up ten degrees, Tactical prepare the main gun." He flicked his com system to the engine room,"Faulker can we squeeze any more from the engine?" "Negative sir the climb is pulling to much from them at the moment and more strain and we'll need a new engine aswell as everything else" "OK thanks Roy." James thought for a second and then stood up,"Helm another 10 degree rise in the climb please. Logistix when I say cut power to the engines and divert it back to the IOD's I want a few full power shots" "Aye sir!" came the replies James sat and studied the Tacops display again the timing on this was crucial one mistake and all could be lost..... Edit: damn typos [ 12-06-2001: Message edited by: Emmett.hendrick ]

GMV Darkstar Cyron VI The giant ship rocked as vollies of missiles impacted on the hull, he grasped his chair trying to withstand the blasts grasping his vessel. "Damn it! Activate EMD and give me a status report" "Sir we have taken some damage to the hull, shields are holding but we've lost one of our PTA's and one of the Galcom vessels is attempting to flank us." "So thats they're game target that vessel all firepower dumb fire missiles if you must if that ship manages to flank us I will have you thrown in the brig. Where's the enemy carrier?" "She's leaving planetary orbit now sir will be passing our location soon" "Set a course straight for her I want to see her commander face before we destroy his ship." The ships great bulk strained as she swung to her new course noseing down heading straight for the planet and the approaching Andromeda......

Ok guys this fight I think is going a bit to easy I think we should add some more Gam support, anybody else want to RP them or will I just drop them in? Edit: I was looking forward to a bit of a furball of a fight during the escape and I had levelled the opposing Gamulan forces acording but now I think we over powerthem quite a bit.
