Yeah, this game is great, it's relativly new but has the old school feeling to it which is great. Since MOO3 is a major let down, this game is an improvement on MOO2. Would definatly recomend it. And yes, as opposed to other games like it, the AI is very nicely made, tough, some of them unpredictable, and every time you start a new game, the AI races will play it out differently.

Bush grabs new powers for FBI

It doesn't effect you till you start getting fed up and start opposing the government, then you become the terrorist, but one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter. -
LOL< Public education system, what a joke. Government doesn't want people to be smart. They only want you to be smart enough to do the job required to turn the economy over and make some $ to pay the taxes, but not smart enough to realize what's really going on and rebel. Basically they want you to be content, just at the point where it would be more trouble for you to mutiny than to stay put and take all their @#$%@#. Hence the dumbing of the average citizen, the dumber you are, the happier you are, ignorance is bliss remember.

I can't believe after so many space sims have been made over the years nobody still learned the lessons and took the best bits to combine into one game. And why is nobody mentioning Independence war I, and II. The system travel was handled well, the ship handling/combat awesome, but virtually no trade aspect, or ship damage/repair.

LOL, too funny, so guys getting the ultimate kick out of roleplaying as a female. Interesting.....LOL

Yes, to the big brother, a camera in every bedroom, we'll tell you when to sleep, what to eat, and if it's ok to breathe, did we mention we'll also take 75% of what you make for all the "services" (protection money) that we mandatory "offer". -

Ok, this is the general X2 wishlist, people are basically saying the things they would like to have been included in X2. Some of the like the systems taking damage and repair control, planet landing ect... Wishlist Battlecruiser discussion thread in the same forum Battlecruiser Series Another wishlist thread This one is somewhat different, it's more interesting, as people are talking about how X2 compares to other space sims. Compare Couldn't find the old BC against X2 thread. So I did a search. This one is funny, look at second page. LOL< "careful, Derek fans are volitile". LOL, Damn right, u bash our one and only REAL space sim, we'll push back so hard u'll end up on your butt. LOL other general stuff [ 12-21-2003, 04:56 PM: Message edited by: Soback ]

LOL, I just came back from X2 forums. You can't believe the ammount of people b#@%ing about how there's no planet landings, can't walk around anywhere, getting out of the craft is useless, the combat sucks. LOL, Yet some of the same ones bash on Battlecruiser series with planet landings, where u can invade bases on land, fight on foot, vehicle or fighter, ...ect.. you all know the story. The funniest thing is, I guess there's just no way to keep people happy, if it's not that then it's the other, I was reading and cracking up.

The biggest problem here is the goverment MANDATING vaccinations.

Precisely, IL2 is great, you know how many times I've played with the cockpit view on, once, for about 15 mins, and every time I start a new mission, I look at the cockpit for about 10 secs, switch views and off I go. So, while it's nice eye candy, I will so bash the game, just like this one in this case, for not developing easy to use "open cockpit view" with some essential information in the corners. It's damn frustrating to stare at the same tank like interior that fills up half of my screen, limits my view of the outside and is essentially useless.
-
Actually those 3d cockpits are surprisingly annoying. They are fun for about 10 mins, but when you actually get into the game, how many times do I have to look at that damn spar obstructing my station or ship view. I would much rather have the full screen view, with some essential readouts here and there, and maybe a few small windows that I could pop open/closed in corners of the monitor.

I rarely get sick, and when I do, it is not that bad, and I've yet to actually get the Flu. Not only that but it is the thought of why would I want to inject myself with the actual flu bug? Yea I know it is supposed to be dead, and only to be used to make my immue system aware, but I don't want it. Well with this year's Flu season being so bad, my wife is asking me to reconsider getting a shot. I will not get a shot, I don't want it, I feel I don't need it. I wouldn't be surprised if the first shot I get, I'd get the flu for that season. LOL, THIS YEARS FLU SEASON IS REALLY BAD? Notice a little dejavu? Every single year you hear on tv "a devastating, not like any other, surprisingly bad, flu season this year". Pfffttt, *%$^&*%$ shut up, never have recieved any flu shots, was the flu bad? NO, did I ever get the flu? NO.

To activelly jam a signal is illegal all over US, not just on public property. Also, trust me, since it's illegal, and anyone is caught jamming, prosecuting them and winning damages will be easy, in addition to personal damages there will also be criminal charges (duh, it's illegal to JAMM THE SIGNAL), the law is already in place and has been for a long time. It will be a shame though if something seriously wrong happens because of that important missed phone call, but there's no way around it, just let things take it's course.
-
Cell phone jamm = lawsuit. If someone misses an important call and suffers damages because of their call being jammed, well then... Hmm... what's more important, your dinner, or the doctor on call.
-
Come on, player reviews? Anyone? How is it?

Whoohoo, and I thought I was feeling like this all by myself. So, instead of talking about it, how do we create an uprising, and clean house?

"The gigantic capital ships and structures that were demonstrated in initial presentations of the game have been replaced by much smaller counterparts. The gaming world is nowhere near as dynamic or interesting as initially promised--factions don't expand their borders, there's no dynamic economy, and the only nonplayer character activity involves security patrols and transport convoys traversing scripted pathways." This statement here is a major game killer for me. When it drops to $20, then I will buy it.

I am telling you, this game is ridiculous. The automation doesn't make it easier to play, but harder instead. Even if you change the minor settings to your own liking the AI will change them back eventually, so what's the point of going back every 10 turns and reseting the settings? Also, the whole interface is ridiculous, clutter, and some of the stuff are pretty much useless. As for combat, don't even get me started there. MOO2 was a TON better compared to this game, this game shouldn't even be in the same line as Master of Orion, it just doesn't belong there. Research? What research, you just wait intill they announce they got a new discovery made for you. The most you can do for research is allocate what percentage is spend on what, not even what tech to research in what area. MOO 2 had better interface, better graphics, better AI, better gameplay, you just had better control of the whole game period. Whoever made this game seriously messed up, and I think that a part of the problem is when they took out the Imperial points you could spend on controlling the stuff yourself, but left all the automation there. But in either case that wouldn't have mattered much, the game is just.... so frustrating when something like this happens to a great title.
