The review, unbelievable. Can a game SUCK so bad??? Looks like my friend was right. Can't wait for BC:M and GCO, ah, gonna go play some BC 3000AD.
-
I saw this game in EB world and it looked kinda nice but my buddy said that it sucks. So if anyone could give me some feedback about the game, whats it about and basically everything you know, especially if you actually played it. Thanks.

1.0 version is not supported, I don't think you can get all the bug fixes anywhere, so find version 2.0 in the stores and download the update patches and you will be set, or just wait a little bit, BC:M is almoust out.

America has it's faults, but this country is way better then any other countries.

Yeah, they figured out that laser burn hurts so why not be full of morphium first, plus think about how much cooler those laser beams look !!! LOL [ 04-13-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]

Yeah, the US pilots were saying on the radios "WRONG WAY, WRONG WAYYYYY" (he was flying closer and closer to the right) and he thought that they were calling him "WONG WEIY, WONG WEIIIII" [ 04-13-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]

#4 makes me hungry, I think I am gonna go to burger king now.

I never had any problems with intruders. Keep half of your men searching at all times, when intruders board they will always try to steal a shuttle or a interceptor. I also keep 2 marines in each shuttle (used to keep 1 but he was complaining about how there was nobody to play cards with) and keep your power for launch control off. It's not a big deal if they do board, if your marines are patroling then the intruders will be killed in less then 5 minutes. By the way, I don't think that this will be changed and also they don't need to crack your transporter codes, they got their own transporters. The only thing I feel is unfair is them getting onboard when your shields are up.

Make sure that your game resolution and your desktop res. is the same. Maybe that will fix it.
-
I think he is asking how to tow a broken ship to the station with the help of your shuttle. If that's it then go to your shuttle, lock onto your battlcruiser, fly close to it and hit "t" for tractorbeam, and tow it to the station, when you are within 25k, dock back with your battlcruiser and once inside hit "alt-d" to dock with the station. If you want to tow something thats already being towed then you can't do it. [ 04-13-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]

Hey Neo, make sure that your desktop is set to 16 bit resolution and so is the game.
-
I think that by the second question he means "how can you regain control of your ship and still pilot the shuttle" If that's what he means then the answer is you can't, the option to just hop between ship, shuttles and fighters has been removed from BC:M. It's not realistic to do so.By the way if you are leaving the ship, make sure you give it some orders first. By the way, I am Russian too, been living in US since I was 11.

Throw a party at SC place. I don't think his neighbors would ever speak to him again.

Everyone who mails me 5 bucks gets the highest rating from me.
-
Well, I think SC is worth 5 stars, then most everyone else 4, and the newbies, (including myself) we can just hand out and earn those stars later.

I mostly agree with Eclipse, although they do need to be taught a lesson. If not nuking them then at the very least stop buying their products here and a trade embargo.
-
Maybe he means the demo? (say it's the demo) By the way I have almoust the same computer and C++ and when I play Diablo 2 sometimes I get a similar message about the program trying to debug that game, my comp doesn's freeze though.

True, but lets say that there's a nebula close to a jump gate, then you wont need to have cloaking tech on the ship, plus if you want to cloak your ship for some time while you wait for the right prey, your people will die from radiation. Otherwise you can just power down or fly into the nebula and that way nobody can see you on radar while you just sit there and wait to ambush someone. Also makes it a nice way to hide if theres a price out on your head and you need time to fix your ship. By the way if your ship gets damaged in CGO, repairs are real time, do you need to be logged on for the repairs to occur or does your ship still exists in the universe when you log off?
-
Happy Birthday!!!
-
Will there be nebulas in CGO or some kind of way that if you are a raider you can lie dormant without anyone being able to see you but you being able to tell what ships are uproaching, so that if you see a trader ship or someone you can loot approaching you can sneak up on them and loot them.

You obviously don't like reading the manual. Everything is described in it, if you don't read it you will not know much about the game besides the very basics, and will be missing much. I will be kind and help you along, to fire weapons you need to activate your weapon systems first, do that by pressing "w", to fire them press "enter", to change missile press "backspace" to fire missle "space bar" to switch controls press either "ALT+O" this will bring up an options screen where you can choose whether you like to control the ship by keyboard or joystick. Good luck, and read the manual, without it you wont get far.

Could someone clear it up for me. The multiplayer for BC:M supports about 16 players(or something like that) Is that a persistent universe or does it reset everytime you log on, and will there be a dedicated server? Basically can anyone tell me as much as they can about the multi for BC:M and throw in a few words for GCO. That would be nice, thanks.
-
Great, I totally agree with the game shipping in single player and getting the patch for miltiplayer later as long as single player is stable and bug free, as for the features it would be nice to have ship to ship boarding since those damn intruders can do it, I would just like to get back at them with my marines. Be really nice if that could be worked into a patch later on. Thanks SC for taking the time to answer.

If he meant Star Fleet Command 2 then BC:M is way better, SFC2 is a static game, you just do your missions and advance through the game that way, wheres the fun>? 99% of games out are like that.
