  1. I have voodoo 3 card with 1.7 drivers, does that support Directx 8 or will I have to upgrade my 3d card?
  2. They will probably try that line in marketing ---> "$2500 dollars for a cool case and the best 3d card you can find with a 2.5 GHz chip thrown in for free". LOL
  3. I wanna play that mission.... When's the next download coming?
  4. Originaly posted by Emmett.hendrick "I will watch the last episode(s) just to see if they get home but other than that the only redeming feature is Seven of Nine....." LOL
  5. Read the "ADVICE NEEDED BUYING NEW PC" thread in this forum. Also: This is out of COMPUTER GAMING WORLD 06/2001 issue. Tech Medics. Q. WHICH PROCESSOR SHOULD I BUY I'm thinking of ordering a system from Alienware and I was gonna get a machine with an AMD T-Bird 1.2GHz processor. But they also have an Intel Pentium 4 for about the same price. Which processor would you choose, and have you heard of either processor having any issues with games? A. Since they're the ones that are gonna build your machine, I forwarded your message along to Gerald Zapata, Sales Manager at Alienware. This is what he had to say: "Alienware has extensively tested both processors, and as a result, both processors are very stable and compatible with all your current games. But Intel's Pentium 4 will eventually outperform even the fastest AMD processors currently available as soon as games optimized for it are released. The Pentium 4 also uses the fastest Front-Side Bus af all processors that are available now, 400MHz. Another good thing to keep in mind is that the Pentium 4 has been optimized for Microsoft's upcoming Windows XP, which means even more potential for extra power from the processor."
  6. Ok, this is starting to look like that thread in the newbies section. It has been explained before about the #0 and #1 that's why SC (if he will hack the forum) can only get #2. So, let's stop repeating it over and over again. Thank you.
  7. My guess is that he will incorporate that into GCO. Nice.
  8. The W98 means for Windows 98. It seems to be the same game, but I don't understand why the hell is chips and bits selling it, and what's with their release date? Wasn't it supposed to be an ebworld only deal?
  9. This will probably sound stupid, but it's better for the question to sound stupid then be ignorant, Whats UBB?
  10. Voyager finale will be on wednesday may 23.
  11. Yea, "imitating SC" "Now sit down and shut up" .......... Next....... [ 05-10-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]

  13. Originaly posted by Supreme Cmdr "OK, the problem with the assert error has been found and fixed. This fix will also be in the E2 demo. The problem occurs because the demo runs in non-debug mode and there is a particular error that is trying to record to a non-existent debug file. This error relates to NPC transports docking with stations and resupplying them. To fix this error in the demo, do the following: delete the default BCM DEMO shortcut (you can't modify it) Create a new BCM DEMO shortcut (which points to BCM.EXE) and add the /d1 parameter at the end. If you do it right, the shortcut target should look like "C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium DemoBCM.EXE" /d1 "
  14. No, it doesn't work with the station that's in the region you start in. Don't know why. So, just capture the hostile stations in the next 2 regions.
  15. Do not try it with the station that is in the system you start in, for some reason that one does not work for me either. Jump to the next system and try it with the hostile station. Also, start the game by double clicking on the "shortcut to bcm.exe" file that you have created and added /d1 parameter to.
  16. So, who is under #1 now?
  17. To Guyffon 1st, to fix the droping problem after playing for a while. Go to the folder where BC:M demo is installed, open it, inside there is a file called bcm.exe right click that file and choose "create shortcut". After that you will see a file in that folder that is called "shortcut to bcm.exe" right click on that and choose properties. A window will pop up, in the line where it says Target:"C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium Demobcm.exe" type in this /d1 it will make the line look like this "C:Program Files3000ADBattlecruiser Millennium Demobcm.exe" /d1 2nd Regarding the station capture in scenario 2. Jump to a different system, target the station and fly to it, preferably cloaked, pound it untill its shields drop, then turn off your pta and pound it with your main guns untill it has about 1/3 or armour left, then lower your main gun power to 10% and one shot at a time keep shooting untill a stationn starts emiting a "SOS" signal, then after it does, press "ALT-D" it will ask you if you want to capture the station, press "Y" and you are done. Now you have C&C of the station and all it's ships.
  18. I was just browsing through the forums and something occured to me. Why is the Supreme Cmdr member # is 308? Shouldn't it be #1, who are the other 307 members before him?
  19. Also I don't know how big of a role traders can play besides resupplying ships with weapons and replacement parts. Maybe they will be needed to resupply space stations so that they can rebuild/repair themselves and their fleets, will they be needed for providing materials for building and repairing buildings on planets? I guess we will have to wait for the role of traders to come more into focus. So, just post any ideas on the mighty trader alliance.
  20. How about organizing some kind of trader alliance? Lets say traders get together, we look after each other, and make faction laws as we go along. I am not sure though if there should be different trader guilds, because supplying one side will obviously anger the other. So there should be like lets say one trader alliance with separate factions within it. Anyone has any ideas about it? Maybe some mercs want to join in for escort. 21. From what I have heard the cockpit graphics will not be in the game, there is just so many ships you can fly that making a cockpit for every one of them is too much, but what I have heard is not from SC, so you never know. Also it might be under the NDA and that's why you were not answered when you posted the first time. "A stupid quetsion (2nd time). [ 05-07-2001: Message edited by: Soback ]
  22. In GCO you can build in space, in the air, on planets, under water. So, you can build your own space station etc... the scientist caste is needed to develop tech level or something like that (look in the newbie forum under scientist caste) and I think you also need colonists and a building permit to build, well, it will still be a year so that's all getting worked out. One things for sure, it will be like nothing you played before.
  23. I think it's very much possible, build a trading outpost on one planet, a bunch of orbital defenses and a space station in orbit. Hire a couple of NPC for escort, man imagination is the limit. An underwater trading outpost is great, have rare stuff for sale down there, well protected.
  24. I didn't know he had a voodoo, just made a guess "hope this helps". Don't know how he fixed it though if he doesn't have a voodoo. By the way, lots of people are saying to disable the z-buffering, I haven't messed with it at all, checked it before running BC:M and it's enabled, still haven't messed with it and the game runs just fine. I think it's better to see if something works first, then if it doesn't, start making adjustments, why mess with something if it doesn't need messing with. By the way, I have voodoo 3.
