  1. Whoo..... It begins NOW. It was a great preshow. Really patriotic and such. The Super Bowl feels more, uh, I don't know, "American" this year. Really good tribute if you ask me. It's ironic that the Patriots made it into what is most likely the most patriotic Super Bowl ever. It's a shame I'm cheering against them. I expect a great game today. Online Game Center here Another useless statistic: The Rams are the only dome team in history to win a Super Bowl. (This is according to Fox. I'm pretty sure it is, according to my memory, but I'm not exactly sure.)

How the CSS is processed also depends on how much detail the author provides in the CSS properties. It's wise to be as specific as possible. Hehe. I've seen way too many sites that (cheaply) use IE-only CSS properties. (Or shortened versions of the same property, that only IE can read.) I forget which especially, though. At one point, I also went the bad path, unintentionally, when I tested some pages and they didn't work with Netscape or Opera.
  3. Heh. I used Opera. Until I realized some of the disadvantages. CSS heavy sites may have some problems being shown. Heh-I figured this one out, when I was using Opera to test out some web pages I had put together. I'll stick with IE for the time being. It's been looking stable since 5.0.

  5. Good idea..... I'd do it myself, but... Too bad I can't build over Ep5's property. Epsilon? Ya there?
  6. Um. I've seen this before. Just unassign those engineers from that place, and look past it. It seems to happen every once in a while (it's a glitch or whatnot -- I use the term "glitch" lightly), and it doesn't do any damage. When that system is damaged, and you repair it, it usually corrects itself. (In my experience.)

  8. quote:Originally posted by Hudson: Eventually the poor heavy carrier sank and all that was left was the poor commander swimming alone in the middle of the ocean... (from that point you can cut nicely into the beginning of Castaway) Even better: A lone commander..... Carrier destroyed..... Resources depleted..... The ultimate test of his life awaits. He's stranded with Resnig. *A man screams "nooooooo!" and it echos in the background*
  9. LOL! I remember being linked to there from some other web forum I was browsing. Heh, back then it was just that front splash page and nothing else. It's grown quite nicely, considering the fact that it's pretty derranged. That's Real Ultimate Power fools!
  10. Now what this remids me of, is that old "Engineering 101" thread in the RP section. We were trying to create some ideas to how some of the technology in the BC universe worked. Until the server hiccupped and the thread disappeared.
  11. Mofo: It's it's own word more or less. It's sorta like fool, or baka or something like that. It's also sometimes used as slang for mother-f***er. Or actually motha-f***a, if that strikes your fancy. Mofo has turned into a common insult used by 11 year-olds in my area. 11 year-olds more specifically means my little brother and his "fruity mofo" friends.
  12. quote:Originally posted by Hudson: I eventually figured that out SC, but at the time when I didn't it was amusing.I remember the story where SC was taking some of those pre-release pics, and he was spacewalking on the hull of the ship, when it decided to go hyperspace. Good times.... Good times, indeed.....
  13. ROTFLMAO!!! I'm gonna send that link to a couple people I know.....
  14. Looks like a good idea. Good luck. You'll need it, since TacOps can be pretty picky if you want this actually sanctioned. (Which you might or might not; depending on how "unofficial" you'd like.) quote:and over zealous police forces.Hey! As an ex-Terran/Police commander, I resent that. Hehe, I'm imagining what'll happen when Spuzzum gets over here. He'll bust you up so quick, and have your balls for breakfast. Edit: Post 1100! Boy, time sure has flown since I joined these boards..... Isn't it great how far we've come? [ 01-29-2002, 21:47: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  15. Fleets don't like to utilize resources (manpower resources included) from a corporation, group, or guild that caters to it's enemies. That's why Intercorp had all it's rules set in. It protects the corporation, the employees, and the clients. On another note, Intercorp does not hire out mercs for protection, unless necessary, or if it's the job or part of it. It doesn't deny access to anyone. Thing is, it makes sure it pairs GalCom Friendly-Indies with GalCom missions, and Insurgent Frienly-Indies with the Insurgency. They don't have many humans flying around the Gammulan Quadrant either, and vice-versa. Get the picture? Intercorp is a free-form corporation. You aren't bound by much. If you don't like it, you can quit. If you don't want to take part in a certain mission assigned to you, you can decline it. (At least, that's how my understanding goes.) This is a multi-race/caste organization, which makes sure everyone is treated fairly on whatever mission they've gotten. It's like an bounty hunter/mercenary job system, with the corporation in the middle. Get in the corp, you've got jobs open, bonuses, and you can also get backup from the corp if there's trouble. Anyway, if you insist on this, go ahead. A little thing though: there'll always be Raiders around. They'll just drift from place to place taking you guys out. Hell, GalCom HQ doesn't care if there's a Raider in Earthspace, as long as it doesn't engage them. That means every single region could pose a threat to you guys. You won't be able to protect yourselves if you don't hire mercs. Even though you say this: quote:It would be a matter of voluntary service for your own "mutual protection" if you want to be protected you will help protect others so that they may help you if the need arises. You've got to remember that Commercial and Trader castes are only equipped in transport vessels. You won't be able to "mutually protect" each other very well; even with armed transports. Think before you speak. Plan before you post. Plan for the best, but prepare for the worst. There are many different faces to cover: forums, MP, RP, and so on. You've got to try to place in your mind if it's gonna work with other players or not. Right now, I think Intercorp's still got the better deal with cheaper prices for members, and easy job-finding. Good luck. Nova, over and out.
  16. quote:Originally posted by R_wilco: Sheesh guys, you give up too easily. Assuming we can't do a *complete* B5 mod(sounds, faces, weapons, hyperspace effect, etc), start with a "just for looks" mod. Find some B5 models from other games, and convert them to .3ds format. I already have models of the station and fighters in .OPT format for X-Wing Alliance and .mex format for HomeWorld. Of course, this is probably easier said than done... We can do a really good MOD though. You can do sounds, models, and crew/NPC pics (useful if you're making missions). Yes, crew/NPC pics; that means you could turn Resnig to Spock, with the click of a mouse. I'll join one of the teams (I don't care which one--B5 or Star Trek) if you'd like. I can do 2D Images and Sounds (if you can get me someplace with images and sounds from whatever show or movie you're doing). Also, since I've tweaked with my BCM enough, I could set up an installer, too. Replacing sounds is as easy as finding what sound you want to replace (it'll be in a zip file), and then naming your file the same thing and putting it into the same directory as the zip file. Same with images. If you've got people scripting, and people doing the models, if you could coordinate them to send their work (when final) to me, with filenames (like soundfxofficersco.zipBCV91OCO.wav) or descriptions of what they want to replace (like Resnig:"Marines assigned to search duty"), I could have a working installer set up. You'll see. Still easier said than done, but I could be a great asset to you guys. Any takers? See my contact info in my profile.

I'm so glad that we've finally found one of the (possibly many) troll accounts here. Heh. I bet it came as a surprise to poor, old, Shirley. Damn, I'm gonna have to save myself a copy of those Shirley user profiles. Has, we've been waiting for this for a long time. You know, the detractors are probably going to be browsing as guests from now on. That is, unless we go back to the "locked" forum we've had instated, then deactivated, then reinstated again, then as of now, deactivated. And it's incredible: some of those names on that visitor list, I've never seen before. All these strange names look like old-time lurkers to me. Cool, the community's actually bigger than I thought. And what's up with all these people on the boards, not posting? Well, Nova, over and out.
  18. And we now have birth dates in our user profiles. How many fools am I gonna have to guess are gonna say they were born in 1900 or 2012? Sweet update. Schweet indeed.
  19. w00t! I love it, SC! Even better is the "Printer-Friendly Version" button at the bottom of every topic. This is sooo gonna make archiving those old, epic RPs easier. And we even get post previews now! And edit timestamps include times finally! Mucho thanx, SC! Keep it up!

  21. Less than 2 minutes left...... Rams lead 29-24.... Eagles ball; 4th and 7. They go for it as a last ditch effort. Rams intercept. Later..... 3 seconds left, Eagles have 1 play... Tension mounts. No cigar. Rams win. It was so damn close. This was a great game. God, I coulda sworn that the Eagles caught that ball..... Really good game. That's what you get when you pair up the #1 Offense of the NFL (Rams) and the #1 Defense of the NFL (Eagles). One word: schweet! Rams vs. Patriots--Super Bowl Sunday @ New Orleans. Next Sunday at 5:08 PM; preshow starts at around 1 o'clock. (A couple side notes; even though there was the possibility of an all-Pennsylvania game, both of those teams lost... And out of the 4 possible teams to go into the Super Bowl in today's games, the Rams were the only technically non-North Eastern team. Ph33l d4 wr4th 0f d4 m|dw3st, b4b`/.)
  22. Patriots beat Steelers 24-17. I was frankly surprised. That FG Block->Touchdown play, IMO, really screwed Pittsburgh. Right now, on the NFC side--the Eagles lead 17 to 16. My bet still stands on the Rams. How 'bout you guys?
  23. Yes.... On topic. Less than 3 minutes left in the AFC Championship game. New England has possession, and is leading, 24-17. (Live Online GameCenter thing for the AFC Championship.) The NFC Championship game starts in only a few moments. (GameCenter thing for NFC Championship.) This is gonna be good.....
  24. The links on my site are being refreshed and uploaded right now. The official mirrors appear to be up, because the new timestamp on the file is 1/27/02 (on 3d Gamers, at least), and the filesize is different. Mirrors should be up around 10 min from this post's timestamp. Nova, over and out.
  25. StarStations. As opposed to StarBases. Not Supply Stations.
