  1. Well boys, I'm heading out for my vacation. Won't be back 'til Thursday, but I just might post at their house. Merry Christmas everyone!!! (And watch those newbs for me, please!)
  2. Cool, man. Damn cool. Can I say more? I'm listening to Mario '8-bit Eighties' as I type this..... Nova, over and out.
  3. Boys, what you speak of is basically the idea behind BCTC (Battlecruiser Tactical Command). Yes, it's already been thought of. The idea is to have interiors for every single ship class and station type. Some big stuff we're talking about. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  4. Yep, but even if I did wait until Christmas, I don't own any of those games listed..... Ooh, and I noticed the quote of the day on VE: "See what I mean about comprehension skills? I don't understand a word of what you wrote. Derek Smart" [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  5. God, it's already final when you said "this weekend" earlier! You are da man, SC! Now please take a break! Or at least one of those long drives again....
  6. Alrighty. Here it is. It starts with this (non-glitched), and turns into this, if you get the camera in a specific angle. It seems to make the moon actually disappear, while putting a white overlay over the whole screen. I think this is the thing netshaman is talking about.
  7. I've had this too. Lemme go get a screenshot. Try to view EarthStar in Jupiter (using F10), and change the view, so it aims right towards the planet. The planet goes semi-transparent, and framerates take a huge hit. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  8. Yep, I'm there. The Newbie Welcome Wagon, at your service..... (And if you have an IRC client, you don't need to go to the ISS site, just head to irc.galaxynet.com; channel #galcom.) Also, if you want, you can look at my Newbie Info Page. It's not complete, but it gives you a good idea of the fleets and such. Nova, over and out. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  9. PLAYMOD!!!! w00t!!! (See BC3k and see the GBSCheats folder for more info..... ) As for status.... I can't even use a random. (I'm a cruiser.) [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  10. One post. Fine. I couldn't resist. And I didn't look at the date/timestamps on the earlier replies.... Guess the battle's over. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  11. Oh, god.... I see another flame war erupting. It's a paranoia I've had since the last time I was at VoodooExtreme. I guess I'll sit this one out. I celebrate a kind of online-pacifism, so you know. Never been good at arguing with dense-minded/hard-headed people if you know what I mean. Nova, over and out.
  12. Cool. Another patch... Way ahead of schedule.... Well, get this patch up, and go take your vacation. You've really deserved it this year. Nova, over and out.
  13. Your behavior, and activeness plays a big role in graduating. Since MP isn't out, and hasn't been, it's been our practice to go by those 2 norms. After a while, if you seem to be learning the ropes pretty well, you get along with the rest of the gang, and so forth, one of your superiors (usually Commandant Badger, but sometimes someone like me, $ilk, or someone else) will put in a good word for you and contact the Fleet Commander for immediate graduation procedures. From there, it's the FC's choice. (This "good word" thing usually happens somewhere between 5-10 months after enlistment, depending on behavior. Some exceptions are ones like Epsilon 5 or the late Hamblin, who may or may not get in sooner or completely later than others; but time will tell..... ) This is how we run ship. It's a tight ship at first, but once you've proven yourself a good guy to us, then it's all good. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  14. quote:Originally posted by Tac: It is kinda hilarious though Nova.. them both are newbloods...on a newblood's intro thread. We should tie them naked and shove em outta the airlock for a little while *grin* Hehe.... Man, it's been a while since someone's been shoved out the airlock. Yep; since I became Newbie Welcome Wagon, the openness to newbs has really improved...... Boy, oh boy, do I remember my time out the back-door. Even though times have supposedly changed, let's do it once for old time's sake! 500 Galcreds says neither of them can stay concious (sp?) for more than 1 minute.
  15. ....JJ, you know better. But I'll let this one go by. (Oh, and put your link in your sig as described here. You've got an entire thread dedicated to you, man; use it.) quote:I thought that Fleet Commander Savage ran a tighter ship than that. Now you should know better as well. Remember how Blades nearly resigned? He said that he just didn't want the stress of looking out for every single person's attitude and such..... Stuff like this........ Alright.... So, freshmeat. Hm.... Okay.... We've sorta gotten off on the wrong foot, but here it goes.... We at Orion Fleet are looking for new recruits. We're the HEAVY STRIKE FLEET in GalCom. Our ranks are the best assembled ones in GalCom. We've been through tough times (the recent ones were all just this month), but we've stood the test of time. We look for the best and the brightest. We look for the cream of the crop. Even if you aren't as l33t (hehe) as you think you should be, our Academy will show you the way. We're active and show lots of initiative. You won't be alone. (Especially in multiplayer.) Some of the perks include: -Free Training (ingame if/when GBS-II is released and we can script some Orion-specific training missions; other than that, you're going to be taught the old-fashioned way on the forums) -Trust (most of our crew trusts each other, so we've been lienent (sp?) towards punishment; at least to my knowledge) -Free POP3 orionfleet.com e-mail address! -More! Come on. Other fleets may try to wow you in by using their logos. We cut the crap right here. Join us, be the best, beat the rest. And I'm sure you'll fit in in Orion. From what I see, you're just the type. (We're as mad as you, Frank.) Okay, you'll be a cadet for around a month or two, depending on your behavior on the forums. But if you can keep your cool (and I'm guessing you can), you're all set. You should (I think) graduate before BCM's Multiplayer comes out. Which means being first on the front-lines alongside the best. Think about it. E-Mail [email protected] for recruitment, and head to the Orion Forums and post there, if you're interested. After you're initially enlisted, then you'll probably be ordered to come to me for some new recruit orientation procedures. (A new procedure at that--caught me by surprise when Blades sent someone to me for the first time and I had no clue I was going to be the one to do that....) Hope to talk to you later. Nova, over and out. (And JJ, congrats on post 200+! ) [ 12-19-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
  16. quote:Originally posted by Epsilon 5: 'The Anchor Holds, again' Hehe....
  17. lmao @ Tac
  18. Yep. Epsilon 5's back and Blades is back. It took this near-disaster to do it, but now our community's banded together, and we're much stronger than we've ever been! Check the Orion Forums for more info.
  19. quote:Originally posted by Fendi: Heh you thought that was bad Kenada. Months ago when I first posted, Nova and someone else thought that I was a woman and wanted me to go topless. My digicam will be used today just to dispell anyones myths about me... Hey! I remember no such thing! It was probably Outlaw. *points finger, stage right*
  20. Yes! Something related to Obsidia! I've recently had an obsession with the Syrion Quadrant, trying to explore and further GalCom's research..... And I'm also looking for info on the Galaxians. Guess I'm like the futuristic version of a crazed scientist looking for dinosaur bones or mummies or something..... I'm patiently awaiting the ACM, SC! Nova, over and out.
  21. Great to have you back in the flesh, Ep5! quote:Originally posted by $iLk: For every "professional" program out there, there is a less expensive or freeware version that can accomplish the job just as well with a little more effort. Yep. If anyone's looking for a good free wordprocessor, check out AbiWord. It's just as good as MS Word; especially since it doesn't have all that Microsoft Bloatware that comes with Word. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Cmdr: You are a staunch member of this community (like that other pain, Blades ) That's what Orion Fleet's like, basically..... I guess it all happened that way by coincidence, but you never know... Nova, over and out.
  22. Alrighty. I'll wait until later before pestering you to show it again.... I've got some pretty good ideas for comics (script-wise). They don't really relate a single bit with each other, but I'm not aiming for the "graphic novel" style yet, so it doesn't matter...... Of course, I can't draw worth beans. (I'd still love to see that one strip... ) Nova, over and out.
  23. Okay.... Yeah. You're all probably wondering why I'd actually reply to a 3 month old thread.... I'm bored. Sue me. Okay. As you guys probably know, some of the vets have decided to create a fan site for BC, titled "Starstation: Centron". Now, this thing has the backing of most of the community. Even though this thing isn't for certain, it got me thinking...... A comic would be nice..... Do you guys still have whatever you sent to the SC around? Because I'd like to see it. I was thinking of making a BC Comic or something like that myself, but my art skills are horribly lacking.... So, wanna show us? *smiles innocently* (PS - And even if it's not for Centron.... I'd like to see it. I like comics...... ) [ 12-17-2001: Message edited by: Cmdr Nova ]
