  1. I'm thinking of being police. I wonder if I can do some undercover investigations (rpg idea)? That would be so cool. And that would make the rpg's a lot more complicated and the plots thicker.
  2. ........I'm still here! I've been out and around lately. Boy, even though it's been almost 2 months, there's not much to catch up on. Oh well. (Also, I've decided that in the long run, I want to be Police Caste, so I'll write up a short story, sometime after Into The Fire. I think the police caste can really add some variety to the already-thick RP plots we have here.) Um let's see.... Where was I. Oh yeah! I just got done sending the apology to Blades. (RP) GCV-McKendrick, Alec Nova's Guest Quarters After writing the apology, Alec Nova took a rest. The quarters given to Alec were probably the worst 'guest' rooms given to him. Because of the entire crew evac to the McKendrick, they had to use some prisoner space as rooms for the rest of the people. Later, Nova listened to some music from his PDA and sat in the bed in the room. He pondered what he'd learned so far, and just let his mind flow to get rid of his stress. Holy crap. Top-ranking command scum, always being so perfect, and strict, and uptight. Blades is cool, though. It must've been the booze or the fact that I almost died that I called him a shitty excuse for a FC. Still, he's really gotta work on his people skills. But man, that Somerset guy. Spit-and-Polish my ass. More of that uptight perfectionist crap............ I've never actually seen Rattler before. I only heard about stuff he did. Just the look on his face.... His expressions..... His movements..... The fame.... The power. That must be an incredible feeling. Ah, what the hell am I thinking! I'll never have that much power. I just wish I could do something to help. Something to prove myself. Then all those seasoned uptight bastards won't think of me as the all-talk no-work guy. It was true. Alec's mouth slipped on several occasions, landing him in really bad positions. He had big dreams, but his mind and mouth combined were just too macho for anything. Earlier, before the Vulture left Pixan, the crew was asked which ones would like to be in the mission, and which ones would just stay and serve as guards. Alec volunteered for the biggie. It just may be his biggest mistake................(/RP) Well, nice to hear from you DeSylva!!! I've seen some of your stuff a while back when I was a mere lurker. Great to have more experienced folks around (I just started RP-ing in April). Also, what I was saying about that Police caste thing was that I think having the variations with a police character would be cool. Imagine if one of the people on this mission was a police officer undercover, and what that kind of side plot we'd have to go through. That kind of junk.
  3. hey, is GMV a usable prefix? check with SC first, plz.
  4. Yeah, we could start up that Indie Guild/Corporation now, that I was thinking of. The ideas are still in the indie forum. Let's make it work! I can't wait for multiplayer............ I might not be around for long. My parents are changing our ISP, and I'm not sure about my email address right now. Don't worry, though; I'm sure I'll pull through.
  5. hey, is GMV a usable prefix? check with SC first, plz.
  6. Look back in this forum (change view posts back if you need to; its around March), and check the Station Docking thread. There is a download patch for the 1st demo there, which should correct the station docking sequence, and prevent your crashed in that particular instance.
  7. quote:Yeah I explained that a while back. My character is a former Galcom Officer and when he and the majority of his crew decided Galcom was not for them they just didn't bother to give Galcom their ship back. Anyway, that's a different story. I think that would make you a traitor, Zeke. Doesn't a traitor get the death sentence if caught (depends on where you live)? ......And don't tell me any bull that you're too fast and they'd have to catch you first . Just don't get cocky. Watch yourself; us indies are becoming a target to some Galcom and Insurgent peeps. I'll be floating around. My RL is getting really busy, so I won't be RPing as much until around June/July.
  8. The proof to aramike's statement is here. Check the profile of anybody with member #0. (see Epsilon 5's link above) it displays this: No member profile found for member number end of discussion. member 1 is most likely tin, the web designer who programed this and set it up at first. Check the fleet DB and he will show up as the first person.
  9. We need a name that sounds more specific. More guilds/sects/groups are better, and Multinational Guild of Independent Players sounds too general, and would be like forcing only one. --- Names: -Galactic Alliance of Outlaws (GAO) -Multinational Indie Trade Syndicate (MITS) --- Come on, be creative! I'm thinking Black and Red are good colors, but we're still searching for a good name. What do y'all think?
  10. Hey, Shingen: Stop talking trash about the fleets. Dude, we won't have a job if you bash EVERY SINGLE FLEET!!! --- To clear up the record, indies can be: Explorer, Police, Scientist, Raider, Assassin, Diplomat, Mercenary, Paramedic, Trader, Commercial. For more information, see the Fleet FAQ; Click Here Finally, mercs can do more than trade and be hired for jobs. We can still mine, and do all sorts of stuff. It's just like going under 'free flight' of BC3k, except you are a different caste, and you don't get violations (and no regular paycheck , looks like I'll be living off of trading & job hunting more than usual). But don't worry, I won't attack anyone except if I'm hired to or if they threaten me first. I'll be busy gettin jobs and scoring against gams.
  11. Felt like passing on the word......... quote:Originally posted by Blades (Orion Fourm->Advanced Warning Thread): Im due to skip off on my hols from the 8th May and wont be back in the good old UK until the 16th. As a result, I probably wont have any net access (Deliberate) since all I do at work all day is sit online and fix some damned fools problem and dont really wanna be doin that when I should be relaxing. Just for the curious, Im gonna be back in Florida during that week, stayin at our family retreat in Davenport. Much Disney related shenanigans are expected, and If I get the time, I might even do some sight seeing down in Ft. Laud if I get the time. I hear they have some right weirdos around them parts ... Good luck Blades, have mucho fun, amigo! --- quote:I hear they have some right weirdos around them parts ... lol! remember, the SC lives around there! (Sunrise, Florida, USA) (haha, not like he's a real weirdo; but remember, lots of inventive geniuses have been pretty weird) And remember to relax (being a FC should be tough! ). 12. Shingen, a few would be nice. 3-6 is cool for me. For now one is good, unitl have enough to actually make more than 2. quote:Originally Posted by Supreme Commander: It'll be nice and quiet.....until someone shows up in orbit and finds a bunch of TTDs huddled in a remote section of a planet. lol, or an OTS nuke. hey, wasn't it somewhere that you (SC) said that there would be some non-combat hangouts? (BCM or GCO?) i remember seeing that somewhere in the site.
  13. Don't worry Shingen. Check "Know Your Role", and I'll wait and make one once I get a name for it. Post ideas there. Know Your Role (Page 3)
  14. quote:Originally posted by Supreme Commander, on the New Commander thread (link in above post): quote: --------------------- You have your work cut out for you. If you want a unified gif you become a fleet. Guess what? Not possible with "indies". --------------------- Indies can have theirs I think, its just that I don't want it abused. I mean, you could have several Raider caste factions, all with a different insignia. Then again, who said there was anything organized about Raiders anyway? Hmmm. Just wanted to bring this up. C'mon, the SC said it................. If someone makes up some sort of name, I can make an animated gif, when I get around to it. If it isn't abused, like Derek said. And, if its okay with him.
  15. Thanks for the support, Joaquin. (Wow, 26 posts since Dec 98!) I also heard some talk by SC about some non-combat areas on certain planets where players can "hang out". Something like that is what I'm thinking of. Also, there's more anti-indie stuff goin' on. Click here and go near the bottom to where they talk about the Indie logo. Hey, what's a good name for this (guild/group) we're talkin' about?
  16. As I said again, welcome Straker. (Applauds) I was (and still am) thinking of joining a fleet. So far, I seem to be making more enemies as I go along, so I think I'll stick with you guys. So, does Mercenary or Police sound better? I don't want to really get shot at, and the Insurgency is already after me. I'm merc for now, though, until BCM multiplayer (then I make my final decision). --- Hey, here's an idea from a while back. Why don't we have some mini alliance of indies? Not really an organization, its more of just simple "I'll scratch your back if you scratch mine." stuff. People inside help out other insiders, and we can go on missions together. The idea should get us more indies here. We could set up bases for only members (in galactic command online, base commanders can control a list of groups or users who can dock and hostiles who always get attacked), and trade routes. We can watch each other's backs. We are all different, have no leader, and don't really take orders. Well, think about it and check it out. One more thing, no one is forced into being in it, we don't have any targets, and our overall purpose is to make sure more people become indies and that indies don't get picked on by both galcom and insurgents (that happened to me first hand). Come on, Galcom has all other Commies on their side basically, and the same is for those Insurgent peeps. What do we have? Nothing. Remember the name of this thread: Know Your Role!!!!!!! We can help assasins and mercs find jobs, help police with criminals (once in multiplayer), and just have what all indies are supposed to have: Freedom and Fun (Hell Yea!!). (and a little action here and there ) We could do this on the message board in the indie forum and on the BCM Multiplayer system and GCO. We're just like a little "Indies Anonymous" organization. Just for fun (too much time on my hands): (RP) The first meeting. "Hi everyone, I'm Alec Nova." "Hi Alec!!!" "My ship's called the Dark Outlaw......." (continues) (/RP) And if you don't like the idea, don't flame. I probably won't remember this until I read this board tomorrow. RL is calling!!!!! C ya.
  17. quote:Originally Posted by Papi: Cmdr Nova, consider your craft a valid target to any Prime fleet 2nd squadron craft, since taking out tourist crafts is illegal, and we don't bargain with two siders, choose wisely or don't take sides! Don't worry Papi, I'll stop all illegal actions from this point forward. Also, I'm thinking about changing my caste to something else, 'cause I'm not sure what choosing wisely is anymore. (Getting confused...) You know how you spoke of choosing from personal goals? Well, I'm sort of a good guy, but don't like chain-of-command and taking orders (so I'm not insurgent). I like to sneak around and explore planets and stuff, and mine minerals, and do all sorts of stuff. What kind of benefits are there for being an (Explorer, Scientist, Police--those are the 3 I'm considering), or is there something where I can be assigned to something like BC3K's Free Flight? quote:Originally Posted by aramike: Makes one wonder if we're just entertainment... I have to admit, it's entertaining, but yet, I like the pride you all show in your fleets and groups. (Salutes) That's why I think I should join an actual fleet (esp. for multiplayer). I'm sure I won't last long alone, but I can supplement a group, when in combat. quote:Originally Posted by BCFreak13: Hey If you can't beat 'em RUN like there is no tomorrow!!! Whatever......... 18. Welcome aboard Straker! Nice to have some newbies around. Cool system, too. Cable is only $38/month + modem (buy it or lease it) for 512kbps download 256 kbps upload where I live.
  19. quote: What's that Smith? The Insurgent is Richard Simmons? AHHHHHH!!!!!!! Blow it up! Blow it up!! I don't want to be anywhere near that!! P/A system: "Attention all crewmen and women, We have a ship belonging to Richard Simmons on out TacScan. I suggest you get to your battle stations" What? A mesage from Simmons? well, let's hear it! Richard Simmons:C'mon ladies move those muscles ROTFL...... LOL, man. Keep it up. Continues ROTFL.
  20. It wasn't that I was against Insurgents completely. If I felt like killing someone, chances are, that it would be Insurgent over Galcom, because I hang out in zones with lots of UCV ships and often find more Insurgents around (you seem to have large patrol areas, well outside Insurgent Planet space). In RP, I dislike them both, and that's why I'm indie. I almost joined Orion Fleet at first, but decided to hold on until making a decision. There is a possibility I'll join a fleet after I've gotten the hang of BCM Multiplayer. But for RPG, I'm a strong indie (for now--cuz you never know what'll happen in RP ). I still work for nearly anyone (Galcom, Insurgent, All Alien Races except Gammulan), no questions asked, no backstabbing, etc. if you've got the cash for it. I take jobs from escort, deliver cargo, assasinate, sabatogue, and trade in the spare time; you know, the basic hired gun bit. In my spare time, in BC3K, I used to attack hackers & tourists for fun, along with those few poor Insurgents who flew too close to me when I was pissed off. 21. Hey, I'm an indie, too. The reason I like being an indie is that you don't have to take orders from anyone. I'm a jack of all trades, and do trading, escort, and other stuff. Even though I don't like the politics of it, I do prefer Galcom over Insurgents. If there's ever a big battle between the Commies and Insurgents, I'm in. Watch out, Insurgents; whenever the Dark Outlaw isn't taking a job, I'll be after you.
  22. Email the Community Action Team (CAT), and give them some sort of explanation of the problem. [email protected]
  23. Good stuff; keep it coming. I might join, after Into The Fire. Outlaw: (Well, they stopped showing Outlaw Star on Toonami beginning of this month. Well, at least I still have Tenchi! lol).
  24. Chavik: quote: I figure with the McKendrick sitting still ( it wasn't posted otherwise so don't know) the shuttles will catch up. I'll expand later or proceed from here. The McKendrick is going back on course to its normal patrol route. If you are left behind, let's hope that you were picked up by one of the tailing ships, lagging somewhere behind the McKendrick (Leo & Graf Spree; correct me if I'm wrong). quote: Neena nodded. “Contacts moving in on the wreckage. We’re returning to our normal patrol route now. Should be there in under an hour.” “Good.” Said Savage. “I don’t like the idea of sitting under cloak for this length of time. I can feel my testicles retreating into my abdomen already.” Good luck Chavik, and I hope everyone makes it into and out of the mission okay (when we get to that point).
  25. Let's get this ball rollin'!!!! Can't wait for the mission! (Limp Bizkit music plays in the background, as Nova bangs his head up and down.) Hey, what happened to Foss? He never seemed to make it into Act 4.
