  1. (RP) The onslaught to the Nevermore was more than unexpected. Rattler stood on the bridge, cursing at having been such a fool! "Shadows, Attack those Warmongers!" "Stay with them for as long as you can." "Attention all Insurgent Rescue Shuttles, Drop your survivors with the nearest Galcom Ships in the immediate vicinity! Priority One! Upon completion, dock with your assigned ships. Necromancer Shuttle 2, Take Nevermore under tow and proceed to Sygan!" "Insurgent Vessels of War, Form up at Anchorage Theta, these Thieves must not escape. We've been fighting the wrong enemy for far too long!" "Coms, Get a message out to the Tenchi. Send it in the clear so that everyone can clearly hear and understand what is being transmitted." "To the REAL Commander of the Tenchi, I did not rescue you those so many years ago to see you fail. I have and shall always watch over you. Whether you remain Galcom, or chose another path is the choice that only you can make. We of the Insurgency hold no ill will towards yourself or any on this field of honor this date. I know that circumstances well beyound your control and grasp have come into play this date and I shall hold those guilty of infringing upon the sanctity of our private relationship accountable. Now it's time for you to stand up and BE what I have envisioned as your Destiny. BE A STARSHIP COMMANDER! It's now time for you to STAND AND BE COUNTED! Do not take this meeting as chance or circumstance. Take it as a friendly visit from one who cares!.......Rattler.....Out!" "Aboard the Necromancer, make all preparations for immediate departure. Spectre Fleet, Cloak and get underway to Theta! Helm, Take us to Theta! "Coms, open a hailing channel to Savage! Send him my compliments on his ability to control his Fleet. Also send him my regards, One Leader to Another. Invite him, And His XO to Spectre for a "One Time Guaranteed Safety" Visit. We have much to discuss after this meeting. Tell him that the offer will be on the table for as long as he wants it. Now send it Coms!" With that, Spectre faded into the twinkling stars and Nebulae. Once again becoming what the namesake portrays. Spectre became the shadows of dreams, Nightmares if you will, that scare most humans when encountered. On a closed channel, Rattler sent word out to every Starstation and Starbase in the galaxy. He sent a message of recall. With that message, every Insurgent became active. This day would not go unavenged. This day was the first day of the search for Akira. Those responsible were immediatley marked for termination with extreme prejudice. On a second message, aimed specifically at one receiver, was sent. It simply said...."Jester, Time to go to Work!" 2. Akuma, what kind of uniforms do you need? I'd be honored to have you do one of myself, but as for uniforms, I need to know what you are looking for. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 3. Heh, Been there! Might I ask what version of IE are you using? Back when I was using 5.0 I sometimes had that problem. Only way to fix it was to do manual refresh of the page while viewing it. That usually fixed the problem for me. I might add that it didn't always happen though. Sometimes the pages didn't refresh when comparing the ones on the net to the ones in memory. Was really wierd. Went to 5.01 and higher and I haven't seen the problem lately. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 4. Roger that Derek, as I now understand it, those who already are registered, sustained members have been "grandfathered" with their vanity email addresses. That sure takes the pressure off of some of us. Thanks! Greg, I wasn't going to mention your name. I was just pointing out that those of us who are responsible for correcting our subordinates were not guilty of the infractions that we must hold our subordinates accountable for. SC's fixed that paradox though. If it's easier for you to keep that vanity address, by all means keep it. I know how it is being away from home base and not being able to keep track of your regular address. Trust me on that one. Derek, I'll get the basic info on the new fleets together for you tonight and in the morning. You'll have it before time for you to post tomorrow nignt. Again, Thanks! To you fellow Fleet Commanders, I started this thread to just prove a point. We, as Fleet Commanders have the power to do great things on and off this board. We just have to work as a team, help each other and somewhere along the way, benefit Derek, The Game, and the Gamers. All we have to do is get together and make it happen. With that, I suggest that we, as Fleet Commanders, gather whenever possible and see what we can do for each other to lighten the load a bit. If only to gripe and complain, that's ok as well! Somewhere along the way we'll find something that will bond us as a group, more than we are now. I'm still going to come looking for you when BCM goes multiplayer, but I'll do it with more understanding and personallity! Thanks Guys, For listening and responding! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 5. Gentlemen, I draw your attention to the thread down in our neck of the woods that I just posted. http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/Forum16/HTML/000030.html I just went through the data base again, making sure that my troops were legit. Guess what, some weren't. I've taken things into my own hands in the Insurgency because, ultimately, I am accountable. I strongly suggest that you do the same with your Fleets as well. I know for a fact that one XO in the Galcom Fleets is using a "Vanity Address" and probably more have slipped through the crack. Just a word of caution. He's going to be checking as well! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 6. All Right Insurgents, "Listen Up!" I've just gone throught the new data base and checked all of your new profiles. Some of you just don't get it! There can be no utilization of "Vanity Email Addresses", PERIOD! Places like Hotmail, and the like are forbidden. If you fall into this category, and I know who ALL of you are, you have untill tomorrow afternoon at 5PM EST to provide me with your REAL IP email address. After that, I'm bouncing you and making you register again. Plain and simple. While you are at it, make sure that your user's profile and the like here on the bulletin board matches your new profile. This is not a hard thing to do Insurgents. We just need to play by the rules so that when it's time to play BCM online, we CAN because we followed the rules. "Nuff Said!" ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  7. Gentlemen, I can't help but notice that there are some of us that aren't as active as we have been in the past. We have our troops in chaos, wondering where their administrative leadership is, and why we aren't showing more interest in the Data Base Entries. Well, I also have that question. Fleet Commanders, Please respond to this thread and show your people that you are still out there. While we are on the subject of the Data Base, I've noticed that some are attempting to register utilizing "Vanity Email Addresses." We all know that these are not allowed. We must use email addresses that are provided by legitimate ISP's. Addresses such as Hotmail, Bigfoot,Yahoo, etc are not allowed. We should all know this by now but some just refuse to recognize the inevitable fact that someone really is out here screening these applications and will most assuredly reject your application if they find one of these Vanity Email Addresses. Bottom line, step up and use a REAL email address or you just won't get in. Period! OK, I've ranted enough. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 8. I must echo what Gallion hath said. BlackIce has been compromised. How do I know? I recently had BlackIce installed. Went down to the market with the wife and when I returned, found me computer doing all kinds of strange things. Files being downloaded and system files being deleted. A quick disconnect from the hub stopped the intrusion. System check revealed that not only had someone found a way past BlackIce, they went into the register and turned the registered period clock off the charts. It expired and shut itslef down! Once the perp managed that, my whole system was open to his whim and wish! Be afraid, be very afraid gentlemen. That little episode cost me one heck of a lot of time in re-installing the complete system. "Nuff Said!" ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  9. Actually, I was indeed given the "Handle" of Rattler by one of my Exec' on the USS Eisenhower, back when I was a CPO. He thought that I warned my troops too much of impending doom if they continued screwing up. He also knew, from personal observation, that these troops were about to experience the lethality of ignoring these warnings. The CO heard him give me this title and it stuck. That Handle followed me for the next 12 years, from ship to ship too! As for the Necromancer, that name was given my ship while conducting the first BC Gathering at the Rattler's Den. Chavik, Gallion, and I were discussing what to name my ship after I had killed the "Darkstar Nebula" in one of the RP threads. We were discussing my escape from the DN and capturing of a hulk in the battle scenario. While we were in deep discussion, My wife Snafu (Charles and Gallion know her ) simply walked in, listened for a second, and said call her Necromancer, From dead becomes Life! Was just that simple! Spectre Fleet comes from the organization that I now support in my Day Job. Spectre, as we know it, comes for you in the dark. Spectre, in today's military scenario is an armed Gunship, who's distant relative was "Puff the Majic Dragon" for you old timers! Spectre is alive and well out there, and now is Alive and Well inside this great community. That's it in a nutshell. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 10. It should be fixed by now. Try again Please! Thanks and get those other guys out there REGISTERED! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  11. OK Insurgents, The New Registration Data Base is now open for business. Some of you have already registered, some have not. NOW is the time for you to get out there and get it done. Without your registration I cannot count you as an active member and must consider you AWOL. Need I say more? Now get out there and Register! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 12. Trot back down to your local EB and purchase V2.08 would be the easiest solution. I gather that you are not located in the United States. If you are, then check out your local software stores and pick up V2.0. Should cost you around $9.00 here in the states. That truely is the best answer for now. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 13. Insurgents, I have not forgotten you so fear not. We WILL be issueing travel orders shortly. We are going to do wholesale swapping of two Starstations, bringing in line the duties and responsibilities of those stations. I have to work with Andergum on updating our roster as well. We've grown in number and I wouldn't want to leave anyone out. While I'm on the subject of leaving anyone out, I need EVERY Insurgent out there that uses ICQ to send me a message. I want to make sure that I have all of you in my data base/contact list. BCM's coming and I need to get this all done before the Demo gets out. We Shall be organized. Have a geat Insurgent day and "Kill a Galcommie for Uncle Rattler!" ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 14. Ladies and Gentlemen, I'll once again ask, nicely I might add, to keep the RP comments and bantering in their appropriate places. I ask nicely because I've been guilty as the rest in the past. That being said, "Welcome Aboard" Commander Pyro Penance. Welcome to the Insurgency, if indeed you have made the choice to join us. One final step has yet to be done, unless I missed it. Please add your Ship's Name in your signature, Preceeded of course by the designation of ICV. Follow the examples of the other Insurgents and you will be ok. Again, Welcome Aboard. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 15. Damned fine job Commander! I never got that far either! Almost, but almost doesn't count. Keep up the good work. I'm sure that we will be hearing more from you in the not too distant future. One last thought before I go. Think Insurgent!" ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 16. (RP) "Shuttle 3 to Mother, Tractor engaged. Commencing Tow. Destination set to Fleet Anchorage. Distance to Destination, 600,000 Kilometers. Time to Destination, 4 minutes." "Very well, Shuttle 3. Commence Tow! Launch IC's 3 and 4 to escort, I repeat, ESCORT Shuttle 3 and the Tenchi out to Fleet Anchorage. ANY and ALL hostile actions directed towards that group are to be met with EXTREME Prejudice. Am I Understood?" "Inteceptors 3 and 4 launched, Sir! Shuttle 3 and Tenchi are outbound. Inteceptors closing the distance, estimated rendevoux in 45 seconds, Sir!" "Attention all Vessels this location...I have initiated tow of GCV Tenchi to neutral space. Additionally, I have dispatched my inteceptors to safeguard that effort. ANY and ALL vessels attempting to intefere with said effort will immediatley be fired upon by my inteceptors and those of the group that I now command. This means Insurgent and Galcom Vessels alike. This madness stops here! Insurgent Vessels still under the control and Loyal to Insurgent One Acknowledge IMMEDIATELY! Rattler.....OUT!" 17. (RP) "Sir, She's making a high energy turn, bringing her weapons stations to bear. She'll be in range to commence firing in 30 seconds!" "Helm, Hard over to 045 degrees. Commence +90 degrees climb to the vertical! Afterburners ON!" For the next 15 seconds the Necromancer grew the wings of an eagle. At the end of the 15 seconds Necromancer had distanced herself from her nemesis by 38000K, Well out of harms way. "After burners OFF! Helm, Hard Emergency Roll 180 degrees to Port. Initiate Hard climb to 090 degrees Relative! Increase to thrust factor 9.0. That should just about settle that!" "Remain at Battle Stations Ladies and Gentlemen! This thing's going to come apart very soon and I need to know where all the pieces go! (/RP) For those of you who know what I've just done, Yep, it can be done in space as well as in an atmosphere. For those who have never flown with the eagles, Necromancer just pulled off the "Z" and is now 38000K directly above this churning caldron and now can observe in safety. In such a position, it's always best to seek the "High Ground!" ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 18. Damned The Vagrants, Full Speed Ahead! (RP) "I need more support ships out there! Have my shadows launch their shuttles as well!" The man in the mirrored glasses watched 16 additional shuttles appear on screen and scream into the jaws of what would be a death trap. Rattler knew that this act would blow the cover on his escort but only a naive child would believe that Insurgent-One would travel without a healthy escort. "Redirect Necromancer Shuttle 3 to the Tenchi! I want her towed out to neutral space and left there under her own power. I've seen enough ships die today. I only hope that everybody is paying attention out there! I surely wouldn't want to be the commander that fired on unarmed shuttles." "Helm, change course to 133.6, roll 27 degrees to starboard.........Execute!" "Keep an eye on Nevermore. If someone carries the fight to her, I want two shadows to join that fight. The offending ship is not to make it. Understood?" "Now launch IC1 and IC2 for MineSweeping duties. The insanity stops here!" (/RP) ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming! 19. Heh, You dealt that hand Hamblin. I only played it as it was dealt. If you want to have the Sark tracor the hull or what remains of it, that's your option. I wouldn't recommend attacking those shuttles though. They are there on a Mercy Mission. Would prove to be quite hazardous to all concerned at this moment. This battle would be fought and won by whoever could get to their keyboards the quickest. Not fair to all concerned. Let's be polite and get the survivors first. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  20. (RP) Rattler watched intently as the ship plowed into the mine field that the Nevermore had carefully planted. It was brutal, but even more violent. With the debarkation of the bow and the debris now filling the space around this Dance of Death it became quite evident that this chain reaction would all but engulf every ship close at hand if something were not done and done NOW! "Helm, take us up to full speed,Maintain Cloak. Change headings to 179.4 Degrees Relative. Initiate 30 Degrees Roll to port. Steer clear of the Sark. Execute!" "Now open up hailing frequencies, in the clear and make it loud!" "Attention ALL Forces within broadcast range of this signal. This is Rattler. Cease Fire, I repeat Cease Fire! Stand down your weapons and withdraw to safe distance. Ships of Insurgency will acknowledge this order immediately. Galcom Forces are asked to follow our example and report to your Fleet Commander via what ever channel you so choose. Necromancer is launching shuttles to search for survivors and render medical assistance only. We have no intent to take prisoners. I will turn all survivors, I repeat, ALL SURVIVORS and the bodies of the unfortunate over to Fleet Commander Blades immediately upon ascertaining the status of said crew." "Necromancer, Launch all shuttles. No Interceptor escort required. Launch, Launch, Launch! Rattler.......OUT!" (/RP) OK Blades, Your Dime. ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 21. (RP) Having heard and seen enough, Rattler quietly backs up to the entrance of the Nevermore's red lighted bridge, blending into the erie shadows that linger where no one looks. Quietly he whispers into those mirrored glasses that are always present. "Necromancer, Traveler inbound, beam me straight to the bridge." With that he simply faded from view with a twinkling and almost unnoticeable event, save the wink he saw as he was leaving. Nothing escapes Akira's view on Akira's watch.....NOTHING! "Insurgent One On Deck! echoed across the bridge of Necromancer as his emergence completed. Seizing the moment, Rattler barked questions and orders as if it was second nature, which it actually was. He knew the current situation, he knew what his next actions were going to be, but......Did his crew? This was a time honored tradition and Rattler was a stickler for tradition. Bring us around to a heading of 273.4 Degrees, Roll 45 degrees to starbord. Ahead 1/3, gently now so not to disturb the surroundings. Now, lower PTA to 10%. Target and lock the Sark's solar panels, just the solar panels please. On my mark..........FIRE!.........Cease Fire!!! Now hail the sark for me, Please!" Sark, just gave you a friendly reminder that all is well in this quadrant. We shall remain in neutral position for as long as the Galcom Forces here do the same. This could have been much greater and will be if the need presents itself. Rattler.......OUT!" "Cut Transmissions and take up station keeping position. Find me that Fleet Leader, NOW!" (/RP) ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  22. To all Insurgents, at this moment we are observing the actions in this thread. We shall not interfere with it's ongoings unless a direct threat is attempted to our Stations and Ships. Remain in Neutral positions and simply observe. It's taken a long time to get all of the pieces of the puzzle together so let's let Gallion and his crew finish the script. OK? ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? You ain't seen BAD, But WE'RE Coming!
  23. Heh! You don't know the half of it. Like the good Inspector Callahan once said: quote: A man's got to know his limitations! I found mine in the X-36 Combo. Why do you think I still use a mouse and keyboard as well? There's plenty enough bells and whistles there to negate the use of both but it's just too darned hard remembering just where you put that command when your shields are coming down like a runaway elevator and your hull isn't that far behind! ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad? 25. {RP} Range to target and Status of Necromancer Mr. Brown? Sir, we are 3.5 kilometers off the stern of the Sark, fully cloaked, missles locked and ready! Mr. Brown, if there are any signs of increased power utilization on that ship, I want her to just go away. Is that understood? Aye, Aye Sir. If her needles peak positive, Our missle bays peak negative. Very well, maintain Cloak and keep tight monitor on the Radiation readings. I'm beaming over to Nevermore. Mr. Brown, you have Necromancer. {/RP} ------------------ Rattler, Insurgent One Commander-In-Chief, Insurgency Official Tester,Battlecruiser Series [email protected] ICQ 12894104 "Bad?
