Cmdr Floyd, What you have there is the Euro (UK) Release of V1.0 or some derrivative of it. Now I'm out of ideas other than, if you can find it, buying the upgrade patch to 2.0 and going on from there or just purchasing the 2.08 release. I understand that it is now available down under so that's the way I'd go. Good luck in either decision you make. If, indeed, what you have is the UK release of V1.0 or a later derrivative, I fear that it's a dead end for that version. V2.08 came with 142 page manual, V2.0 came with 40 page manual, and V1.0 came with 30 page manual. Don't know what version he has with an 80 page manual! quote:O.K. Remove the Display Doctor. That's step 1. Sounds like you definitely have the wrong drivers installed. Working from Memory, DirectX 7.0 only addresses your primary card's drivers. You need to get the latest drivers from your Voodoo II Card Manufacturer. Also, Eclipse is correct. When all else fails put the 3dfx drivers from the site directly into your BC3000 Folder on your hard drive. Also make sure that you aren't trying to overclock your processor, Voodoo card if possible, and also make sure that you did set up your sound card correctly. If all else fails, do a complete re-install. That means uninstall from the control panel and then go into hard drive and delete the entire BC3000 folder and it's contents. BTW, You didn't try to configure from within the game and then abort it did you? Try the above remedies first and get back to us. Also, on the shortcut there's a box that says "close on exit" I believe. Make sure that isn't checked and try to run the game again before you start deleting. Eclipse, best way to get here is Hop on I-10 east, go to Crestview Exit (about 46 miles) and turn left under the overpass. Eclipse, Just as you and I discussed, I tried your saved game, BTW it's Thomas's Artifacts FF Script. It's corrupted! Don't know how or where it got corrupted but it's a non-playable game now. For those interested, After Eclipse Evac'd his ship and got another issued, He had run-away AI in Auto Pilot, His PTA would come online when commanded but would not fire, and if he hyperjumped to any target his weapons symbology would disappear, never to be found again. Pure and simple corruption. Bad, Very Bad Indeed. Now on to the meat of my post here. Commanders, If you are going to be brave enough to try to use a "home cooked" script out there, and it fails, THAT's YOUR Problem! I don't believe they are supported here, and furthermore don't believe that they should be. That's my personal oppinion though and not the position of the management. They can speak for themselves. By all means keep making those scripts 'cause they add diversity to this great game. Just don't expect them to work all the time and don't expect a problem in them to be solved easily. In my experieces, Yes it will be plenty, that is until the SC rolls out that "Box Buster" somewhere down the line that's goig to require something better than a Cray! By that time we'll all be doing VR Computer Gaming I would think. K6-II 500Mhz isn't the fastest or newest out there, but it's no slouch either! I've got a lot of respect for AMD and their products. OK Commanders, Now Hear This! If you are out there in ACM land and find yourself with a little spare time on your hands I can ease that pain of "Costly Repairs", Rising fuel prices, and just general out and out need for thievery! Got your attention yet? Don't need cheats or play mods either. It's right there in the game. I'll surely get time in the brig for this one but DON'T tell the SC. Right after that first Terran Diplomat launches from Galcom, Grab that sucker with your trusty tractor beam and run like the dickens to Majoris with him. Don't stop for nothing! Once in Majoris space, let that baby go and he'll beat feet to Majoris mui pronto! That's going to leave you about 27 minutes to high tail it to the debris field and grab all those goodies out there with your shuttles. When they get down to say 3 pods remaining, go to Tacops, zoom all the way in and out again. Return to the bridge and the field has regenerated with pods! You can do that for as long as you have time. That's getting rich the easy way AND keeping on track with the ACM as well! Oh, almost forgot one important thing! If another ship, just happens to venture out there with you and starts grabbing pods that you farmed, simply target him, hit "v" to view his cargo and send one of your shuttles to MUG that sucker! He stole it from you first, only fair you get it back from him! In true Insurgent Fashion, Grab them pods and cargo like your life depended upon it. Word to the wise, IT DOES later on in the ACM's! It's all covered in the FAQ's Commander. It is possible to use programmable Joysticks in BC3k, but not always (if any time) in their native digital mode. Do either of your joystics emulate another joystick? If yes, check the FAQ's. Found my old nemesis again SC! You guessed it! config file was hosed! It was getting corrupted while I was congiguring my Joystick. Here's a lesson from the past kiddies! IF you go into the configuration from the main screen and then change your mind instead of completing the transaction, it might just corrupt your config file. This leads to black screens with background sounds. Word to the wise also, if you are doing a complete reload, do a complete reload! That means select uninstall from your control pannel, say yes to BC3k.ini file deletion, then go to your drive where it was installed and delete the entire BC3000ad folder.
