This new patch isn't going to wipe the saves, is it?

First, you can't upgrade at a station. You first buy the upgrade, then launch and upgrade from your Logisix computer. Second, this isn't the right forum for this question. This is where you post strategies, tips, etc. If I were a moderator, I'd move it, but one will come along shortly and do it.

In a Questar (Heavy Crusier), I was unable to use the T.A. Shield. The upgrade light wouldn't light up.

Well first off, you can't substute fighters with shuttles. There's a world of difference between the two. If you want to buy a new one, (brace yourself, it's expensive, and make sure you have room in the cargo bay) go to TradCom and buy a "FC Asset" or "SC Asset". Then go to Tactical/Loadout and click on the vacant designation to assign the new ship. It should pop up saying that ship was destroyed, but you have a replacement in the cargo bay. There will also be a button that says "Replace fighter" (or shuttle). Three guesses on what to do next. Okay, I have two problems with BCM on my other computer. My system specs are with the registraton, with one change (sorry, I messed up): the video card is a GeForce 2 AGP, and has 32MB. First, the fonts game-wide are messed up. The demos don't look like this, nor should the full game, as I've seen it shown properly on my other computer. I have a screenshot of the phenomenon; I'll email it to you if you wish. I just downloaded the lastest drivers, but they haven't helped. As for patching, I installed the game, then applied the full 1.0.01 patch, then the updated nav data file, in that order. I haven't tried reinstalling the game yet, but I don't think that will work. The other issue isn't video-related, so I won't post it here. EDIT: I reinstalled it, and it's working perfectly. Go figure. Sorry for any confusion. [ 11-26-2001: Message edited by: Urza ]

I noticed something. If your Navitron computer is destroyed, but you try accessing it anyway, you'll get a small picture of your immediate area. If you click on the picture (in an attempt to scroll it), none of the other computer systems will look right (even the ones that are working perfectly). They won't correct themselves until you quit the game entirely and restart it. Try it and see what I mean. Note: I haven't registered yet because I haven't tried it on my computer yet, so please don't eat me! This computer's specs are: Athlon 1Ghz 256 MB RAM GeForce 3 with latest drivers 52X CD-ROM If you need more info, tell me, and I'll provide it.

Is 50,000 (Stg Cmdr) the only command ability milestone? And are there any for the other careers?

How accurate is Gallion's estimate? And are there ways for time to pass without actively playing? (i.e., do you have to be playing 2 hours for AI do go up one point?)

Yes, I also like the Firestorm. (I wonder why ) But in the asthetic category, the Questar wins, hands down.
