  1. To: cadet Most From: Lt. Cmdr Bannon re: New standing orders As of 0830 est you are hereby ordered to read the Lonesome Dove series by Larry McMurtry, if you have not already done so. Failure to carry out this order could result in an article 15 and letter of repremand That is all...
  2. Poor Jake, however he did serve the counterbalance of the idea that every kid wanted to be in Starfleet. I like that he din't want to go into the family business. I also liked his friendship with Rom who was sort of a Ferengi "Eddie Haskell" (Thats a Leave it To Beaver refernce for those of you without Nick at Nite) Also I think the episode where Jake and Ben were stranded in a solar powered windship was pretty good.
  3. My point was obviusly missed so I'll reframe, If I want to support a joke , like the one intended by the reference to Sen. Clinton, which is obviously a take on the Defense Department deck of cards portraying Iraqui bad guys, I'll just buy a deck of the originals. They to me are just as much as a joke. More over unless you haven't noticed we got bigger fish to fry than to be worried about Sen. Clinton being elected. It's hardly the time for frat boy frippery and partisan politics. I live in a commonwealth so broke they are laying off cops, firemen, and paramedics. Meanwhile we're spending a combined 70 million a month in Iraq and Afghanistan. Dude wake up and smell it. It aint coffee.
  4. Ditto. Sci-Fi channel has appeared to have upped the ante. They have projects upcoming with Emmerich/Devlin and Martin Scorcese in the near future and lets not forget the universally loved Battlestar Galactica : the next Generation
  5. I aint gotta order any made up cards from Hillary. If I want made for tv media hype I;ll just buy the ones the White House puts out. You know the ones sponsored by the US Dept of Making Shit Up.
  6. Couldn't agree more $ilk. The guy you're talking about is Jeffrey Coombs, a B-movie icon who has played in such classics as Reanimator. I also like the guy who plays the Cardassion tailor and Armin Shimerman who plays Quark. I also have a soft spot in my heart for Gul Ducat (Marc Alaimo). As much as I liked ST:NG its looks a little hokey and dated watching the older episodes. I also feel that DS9 benefited from having in some respects to compete with Babylon5. I really feel the space battles in the Dominion War are derivative of the B5 scenes. Just my opinion.
  7. Gotcha..still gonna buy it. I think I wore the other one out.. and the VHS version as well, it's completly fried.
  8. What? No Halo in the land down under? No Steel Battallion? Haven't tried Splinter Cell? Dude, you should get out more..
  9. I have been rewatching ST DS9 on dvd via my netflix account and have been suprised to find it has held up much better than ST:NG.The stories seem stronger and the episodic approach (no doubt influenced by the superior Babylon 5)have forced me to conlude that DS9 is a better series that Next generation. any opinions to support or reject out there?
  10. Not a bad episode and of course she was hot, but i actualy think this show is getting better. I was not always a fan and I thought that the show might suffer going over to Sci-Fi but it has been pretty consistent.
  11. I will be in the theatre(with the missus) on her birthday to see this one. I too think Costner gets a bad rap, but Dances was a widely acclaimed Oscar award winning film. I liked the Postman and Waterworld which were both panned by critics. Speaking of Tombstone SC are there any restored scenes in this version or a directors cut? I have seen Tombstone so many times that some of my friends and I can recite the dialogue word for word. (Sad, I know but true) I too agree it is the best post modern western and I feel Val Kilmer's performance was oscar worthy. Ironically Costner's Wyatt Earp came out around the same time and was expected to be the better film. So much for critical acclaim.
  12. Yippie! already got one.
  13. Here'e a heads up on a Jolene Blaylock appearance on SG1 tonite (9:00pm est) She plays a scantilly clad Jaffa killing amazon. that in itself is worth the price of admission.
  14. I give up. I was hoping that all those hours of writing code would slow down your thought process and maybe you'd let something slip about EFC. Hell SC I ain't asked about it in a year! throw me a friggin bone!
  15. Okay is that nice try "it'll never happen" or nice try" If i told you I'd have to kill you?"
  16. SC, awhile back you mentioned the possibility of thier being a BC related project for Xbox and I was wondering if there was ever any progress or news in that area. not that you ain't busy enough already.
  17. I'm on a hard boiled kick right now. I'm reading "Moving Target" by Ross McDonald , "Potshot" by Robert Parker.(Another Spenser novel). On deck i've got " A Red Death" by Walter Mosely and in honor of his 83rd birthday on Aug 22 , I am going to reread Ray Bradbury's the "Martian Chronicles" and the "Illustrated Man" I cut my science fiction teeth on Bradbury and spent many a summer day under a tree reading his stuff. BTW anyone interested in recording a birthday greeting for ole Ray can log on SciFI.com and look for the link on the the "News of the Week" segment.
  18. Lemme see, it's freezing in Australia, dark in New York(the city that never sleeps) and it 's 100 degrees in England. Me Im in a secret bunker awaiting the remaining signs of the apocalypse. No reall I'm just hanging out down here in Brown sector with the rest of the lurkers.
  19. Last year I read in Game informer and Gamespot about a game that was supposed to challenge MetalGear Solid and Splinter Cell. Called Duality, it was supposed to take place in the real world and in cyberspace, hence the name Duality. It was developed by Trilobyte and was slated to be released last year. (2002) Anyone heard of this game?
  20. Hehe, that was Newegg that I got the GeForce3 not tigerdirect. My mistake.

  22. Gotcha! Just f**cing with you.
  23. A couple of months ago I got a GeForce3Ti 128mgs at tigerdirect for 93.00 dollars shipped. Great card great price and no complaints. Thanks to Greg Miller and my ole buddy the Fox for thier sage cousel on the matter.
  24. Don't matter what's flyable though as I said earlier I'd love to be a Falcon driver, I am so going to buy this game! I'm still playing Top Gun: Hornets Nest and would like to add some new air combat games. I open to suggestions (hint, hint). Also I'm thinking of getting a new joystick for flight games. I'm currently using a low end Microsoft Sidewinder (USB plug and play, no software) and am considering a Saitek Cyborg any thoughts?
  25. Another satisfied customer!
