  1. A LOT of things are going to be revealed in the coming weeks. Keep checking those tweets!
  2. There is an update coming out later this month actually. I have been a bit hesitant to release too many updates given that we have some upcoming competition (Planetside2, Tribes Ascend, Firefall) which, though they are different games, I still have to be careful not to reveal too much about our game.
  3. Yeah I saw it. I thought it was good - as long as you don't have very high expectations.
  4. No news is good news. We're still hard at work; but more news, shots, info and more are on the way.
  5. FIRST!! Yay!! Another upgrade
  6. OK, the blog is not yet up, but you guys get first dibs. My blog (up later today hopefully) will have some explanations and such. Inside the Arkangel Station (in orbit around Lyrius planet) Starbase Frostbite Starbase Nightbridge (completed version) Lyrius Space Region Enjoy!
  7. Well the big reveal is out. And as I expected, it doesn't reveal much. http://www.planetside2.com
  8. There are no patches for UCCE v2.0. So there is nothing further for you to download. That patch file you are talking about is for the original UCCE v1 game
  9. Read this
  10. Good things come to those who wait. Trust me, you WILL like this update (due tomorrow). Apparently there is a Planetside 2 announcement due out today as well. I don't want to rain on their parade just yet.
  11. That was the whole reasoning behind my including the concept of Fireteams in the game. You pay a small fee (there is no fee to join) to create a fleet (aka guild) and you can then split up your members into smaller specialized fireteams as you see fit.
  12. Yah sorry guys; change of plans. The reveal is next week after the July 4th break.
  13. Thanks to those of you who sent me an email that the board was down earlier tonight. Apparently it was a dB driver error and it was quickly resolved. In the future, plz send any such notifications to webmaster at 3000ad.com so that someone else is alerted in case I'm not available. Thanks!
  14. It will be epic. New blog, screen shots and all. Coming down Tues or Wed. Be there!
  15. Looks like they hit the Bioware boards as well.
  16. Earlier today the forum was acting wonky so we ran some checks and discovered that some tool was using some sort of PHP cross-site injection exploit to inject errand code in our PHP files. So we took the board off-line for a bit. Everything seems fine now but if you see anything curious (e.g. extra large category banner images), please send email to webmaster at 3000ad dot com.
  17. It's all in your head.
  18. Anyone who actually bothered to read the specs for UCCE 2.0 should have noticed that it uses the updated graphics engine kernel from Echo Squad SE - which is far more advanced that the original 2004 UCCE. Which means a revamped UI. Which means that some UI differences between 1.x and 2.x do in fact exist.
  19. While I understand what you are saying, headshots are here to stay. What you don't know is that there is a defense against it: a full body impenetrable Aurora shield which when activated prevents you from being injured from all but a direct rocket launcher hit.
  20. Congrats Ben!!!
  21. There are no rare weapons. The only way to prevent forced item drops is to not get killed.
  22. You can either manually drop it or it will be dropped if you are killed.
  23. My guess is that there are LOT of things in the game that you still haven't seen.
  24. Yes, the ODS do work in both UCCE and UCCE v2 (which I just tested again). The issue is that they are moving so far around the planet that their target acquisition matrix will reset quickly because they do NOT stop to fire - and they will NOT fire if they don't have a near perfect solution. Especially those that use missiles instead of guns/turrets. In fact, they were more powerful back in UC, but I think since UCAWA I tweaked them and that carried on to UCCE. Capital ships only cloak when conditions warrant it. Seriously, who hasn't run up against cloaked ships? Capital ships only use missiles when conditions warrant it. The reason being that depending on the range, target type and the target priority, they will use their more powerful main guns and turrets. Also, it is more efficient for them to launch fighters than directly engage high level targets (e.g. stations, other cap ships)
