  3. The Digital River e-commerce version is now online http://www.regnow.com/softsell/nph-softsell.cgi?item=13068-1
  4. This has now been fixed in the just released 1.00.06 patch.
  5. Use the game Updater to download and apply the patch. The online VCF has also been updated. NOTE: If this is the FIRST time that you are downloading a patch for this game, and your original CD-ROM is v1.00.01, be sure to download the latest Updater tool before using it. This replaces the original version included in the first release of the game.

  7. Don't waste your time. The key is only in the registry so you don't have to keep entering it each time you try to run the game.
  8. It is the responsibility of the reviewer to review games based on merit and what they are, not what they want it to be or think they should be. It is really that simple. It is also the responsibility of the EIC to assign a competent reviewer to a game based on that reviewer's experience and exposure. You can't assign an sports game fan to review a deep, complex game. The results won't be pretty. There are glaring holes in his review, which clearly point to someone who is used to playing a different kind of game and has no patience for it. Giving a game a 4/10 score because you don't like it, is clearly incompentence and unfair. Especially when you consider that he's complaining about the size of the manual, tutorial etc. And telling a rather GLARING lie about the lack of keyboard commands. I wonder what would happen if he was asked to review, say, Silent Hunter III, Falcon Allied Force or Dangerous Waters. Of course he's getting paid to do a review, so there's no way he's just going to say he can't review it for whatever reason. So why not type up a bunch of rubbish and assign a score that is in line with a previous review. I dunno, but to be it reeks of pseudo-plagerism. No wonder they're looking for reviewers over there.
  9. You don't have anything to worry about as far copy protection is concerned. I've got it under control.

  17. Yeah, I know. But apart from crossing the line - by a huge leap - he knew that what he was doing would get him banned. In fact, he posted just that in another thread.
  18. Wasn't scary at all. Then again, I'm not easily scared anyway. Nope. Didn't have any gore whatsoever.
  19. Now's your chance. Have fun.
  20. OK, I have reproduced this. The jump fx is not working correctly and it is another problem with the Starforce protection because it works just fine in the unprotected version. Since it is timer critical, I think the protection is screwing it up. I'm looking into it now.
  21. I don't plan on changing the game universe. Why would I want to do that? At one point I was consdering adding a second one, but decided against it; as it serves no purpose. The game universe is part of its mythos and I see no reason to mess with it.
  22. Its in the manual. In fact, its in intro section of the manual I think; where I discuss some of the revisions.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Cruis. In: http://www.worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=28185 I thought that was an unfair review. I wouldn't even bother to pick it down, just in case you hadn't seen this one Derek, I put it here. I dunno why anyone would call it a review. It reads more like a preview by an adolescent, more than anything else. The one thing I did find amusing was this After struggling to play with only a short list of keyboard commands Clearly, he's talking of out his a$$. A short list of keyboard commands?!?! Never send a boy to do a man's job. I guess Rainier must be short of good reviewers. Here is their UC review. quote: Originally posted by Teknocack Prime: Yeah. A completely unbalanced review. You know what? Mainstream reviewers should not be allowed to handle this type of game for a review. Mainstream? Since when was Worthplaying mainstream? I guess I must've missed that memo.
  24. quote: Originally posted by DennyMala: You've been warned. No. He's been perma-banned. Anyway, which fx are we talking about? There are two. The jump fx is the stretching fx seen in the external cam view. I didn't check this, since I assumed he was talking about the transtion fx. The transition fx is the mult-colored one seen in the HUD view. This worked when I tried it.
