  1. Dunno bud; since you're the only one getting it, I would suggest a re-install of your video drivers, directX etc
  2. Works fine here EDIT: I also just ran the IA scenario Homeland Security and it works fine. You can also use the cheats to create hostile crafts around you (in ROAM mode). Thats the quickest way to see if they work or not. SNG with Violon Halt craft & activate turrets Use cheat menu to create Gammulan/Military Violon Press ESC to activate TOM Press F4 to give the hostile Violon SAD orders Give your CC orders to attack the Violon and activate PTA I just uploaded a saved game which I used above. Download and resume or restore it. I think whats happening is that the Violon turrets have such a rapid rate of fire, that - due to the performance increase in the game - you can barely see them fire (or even register in the HUD). I might have to reduce that. But let me know. They are definitely firing. If you F10 the hostile, you should be able to see it fire. [ 09-09-2005, 09:57 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  3. BMT advises that replacement CD-ROMs shipped out today.
  4. BMT Micro has advised that manuals started shipping out today. Don't forget, these are limited edition manuals and there won't be another reprint. We expect the current batch to sell out by the end of this month.
  5. Fer crissakes I was just kidding. Don't piss around with your video card settings unless you know what you're doing. Whatever fog the game uses, the card will automatically use. Those settings are there so that you can force the use of a specific type. *sheesh*
  6. ATI doesn't support the type of fog used in the game because the version we are using is similar to the fog machines hollywood uses in movies.
  7. For starters, you could stop pissing around with your video card settings, since it doesn't appear as if you know wtf you're doing.
  8. Nobody would be caught out if they actually read the provided docs. There is no excuse for that.
  9. I disagree with the collision detect comment and sent him email about it explaining why it was disabled for vegetation and why it is listed in the FAQ. So I have no idea what he meant by this, considering that if there was no general collision detect, first person would be unplayable (e.g. bullets won't hit etc) quote: Collision detectionÔÇöa critical part of making first-person environments feel "real"ÔÇöis still essentially absent,
  10. heh, you're not alone. Eclipse had the same problem.
  11. So don't run 1.00.04 Yeah, this is just silly. Besides, wtf is slow menu response anyway? And since you're the only one getting it, you're on your own.

  13. First click on the Lobby button. You should then see several lobbies depending on which game (UC, UCAWA, UCG, UCO) you have installed. Choose a lobby (e.g. UCAWA). Then press the Play button to display the servers for that lobby. This is in the GameCQ documentation as well as in the UCAWA manual btw.
  14. I suggest you send them an apology RIGHT NOW!!
  15. Why? It is on the public domain and anyone can host it. But with all the mirrors now hosting it, why would you want to?
  16. Its not required for UCAWA; but you can try adding it to see if that makes a difference. I doubt it.
  17. Use the game Updater to download and apply the patch. The online VCF has also been updated. NOTE: If this is the FIRST time that you are downloading a patch for this game, and your original CD-ROM is v1.00.01, be sure to download the latest Updater tool before using it. This replaces the original version included in the first release of the game.
  18. Let me go look into that and see what gives. Could be missing files or somesuch. EDIT: Missing MP entries in one of the PTE INI files. I've fixed it. [ 09-07-2005, 01:36 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  19. Works just fine. I just loaded the lobby and could see three UCAWA servers online. I just started a local and internet server and they loaded just fine. If you didn't install the GameCQ lobby software correctly, then you need to re-install it. There are several registry keys that the GameCQ installer creates. If they are incorrect, then it won't find that DLL. e.g. quote: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE3000adGCQServices] "Path"="folder where GameCQ is installed" [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE3000adUniversal Combat A World Apart] "path"="folder where game is installed" "program"="ucmpGCQ.exe" "version"="1.00.04" "postcommand"="/logchat" "lobbyprogram"="GCQL.exe" "lobbypath"="folder where GameCQ is installed"
  20. It is a really nice map, you'll like it. We used to sell those back in the BCM days and they're back as limited editions. The sales page for them should be up later today once BMT Micro (I *love* these people. I've been working with them for so long, its just amazing just how smooth everything is when dealing with them) set it up.
  21. OK, it has been confirmed that we have a batch of bad disks in the latest 1.00.03 burn. This originated from me, not BMT Micro. Looks like the new brand of 700MB disks, don't like being overburned (which was necessary, given the size of the game). I should have checked the master (a copy of my original master which works fine) myself before it went out, but I didn't. My apologies. A few people got this bad batch and new CD-ROMs (v1.00.04, since thats my current build) will be going out tomorrow. For the inconvenience, each person with this bad batch, will be getting a copy of the galaxy poster map for free. It will be shipped separately. We're looking into this now and I will get back to you in a bit. btw, do you have broadband access? If so, we can create an expiring download link for you; while you wait for a new CD-ROM to arrive.
