  1. Yeah, it works on ME just fine. ...but seriously, you're NOT running ME are you? Are you?
  2. Yeah, I did a ton of tweaking. I tried hard not to go overboard with the planetary units though, or you'd never succeed without cheating. The NPC personnel could still need some tweaking though, since they sometimes doing funny things; especially in densely populated scenes.

My bank account thanks you in advance quote: I'm sure everything will fall sweetly into place on the digital download front SC. If anything, it will make future releases a bit easier seeing as you'll have experienced the problems first hand.Exactly!! Its all a learning process which I only have to go through this once. Then its smooth sailing from there.
  4. quote: Originally posted by Chavis: Ok I will. I filled out the info on the ChoiceMail One page. Yeah I got it now. Will look into it tomorrow because I'm taking the day off. quote: Originally posted by Darkling: I found that the game seems to run it's best with all the ATI video card settins all to Highest Quality. For some reason when I try to set certiain things to Higher Performance I get random CTD's. Could you be a little more specific please?
  5. quote: Originally posted by Algeroth: Although this may not be true for UCAWA, the percentages for the developer are usually far better from BMTMicro than an online publisher too. That has always been the case. I have had a long standing relationship with BMT Micro going back almost ten years. In the case of the online distros, the percentage is lower but not as low as with traditional publishers. So yeah, we make more money through BMT Micro; but then again, you get your product on the CD-ROM. And also thats the only source of the limited edition printed manual if you wanted one. The biggest delay with the online distros, is that I had to implement - test - test -test all these various DRM schemes. Lets see TryMedia's www.trygames.com, uses their proprietary ActiveMark DRM. Boonty's www.boontygames.com (and other portals which they have partners for) use Exent's DRM. Digital River which has the largest network of affiliates through their network and RegNow, use Software Passport (which used to be Armadillo until DR bought the developers). Tuner's GameTap's service at www.gametap.com also use Exent. They have BCM & UCG for this Fall's launch and UCAWA for Q1/06. Then of course I used StarForce ProActive for the CD-ROM version which BMT Micro sells. I used that because then BMT can replicate discs without requiring special equipment which replicators who fulfill jobs for CD-ROM based StarForce (the much hated version) and SafeDisc require. In fact, Boonty also are able to use StarForce ProActive and I'm going to have them switch to that instead. Less testing. So you see, its not a simple thing of just implementing these DRM schemes. I have to test them. The publishers (BMT Micro, TryMedia etc) have to test them etc etc. Then it goes into their queue. Considering the number of game going online for purchase these days, God only knows where in the queue we are for these online sites. So, you folks just have to either wait or bite the bullet and get it from BMT because I have NO idea when it will all be ready. I am in the process of figuring out if its worth my while to setup our own downloads page. We have several servers but just need to get the shopping cart and billing system setup. Thats what I'm working on right now so that we can probably use the BMT Micro billing system but have the downloads from our servers. More on this once I get the final word sorted out this week.
  6. I haven't received anything thus far. You might want to resend it.

Might as well add Bush Sr., Reagan, Carter, Ford, Nixon etc... ALL the past administrations KNEW about this problem with the levees and didn't do anything about it. Bush DID do something about it. He cut their funding.

  9. quote: Originally posted by Psirat: Yeah, mostly looks good. I'd never noticed that ATA and STA missiles were ineffective, so I can't comment on that. If you're talking about this excerpt, its complete and utter rubbish. Anyone who read the missile specs and knows how the target acquisition works (lock versus dumb, locked vs EMD jammed, range etc), knows how to use them effectively. quote: 1. Missiles: In space and versus ground targets missiles work very well. But when things turn, Air to Air or Surface to Air, they start to lackseverely. 7 out of ten missiles will miss their targets completely, two will come close and one will hit. : To be honest after watching missile performance during ground assaults for while, I stopped loading my fighters with ATA missiles and just relied on fighter guns and CC PTA fire to down enemy fighters during base incursions.
  10. I totally agree. They had ENOUGH warning and there is NO excuse for this catastrophe. None whatsoever. They were just lax. Or relying on Hoodoo. Or sumthin. Even down here in FL, we get wind of a hurricane? Everyone bolts out the door. The more I follow this farce, the more I am truly sorry to be an American. Forget about the tragedy itself, since there would have been casualties. But this administration's failure to respond quickly is inexcusable. Just inexcusable. The good news is, next year is the start of the election year facade. We'll just vote the whole gang out of office. Apart from the fact that everyone is politicizing this; it has now become a race issue. You see a Black guy carrying his belongings in a Black garbage back, he is said to be looting. You see a White person under the same premise, they say the person is fleeing. Disgraceful. Utterly disgraceful that this could happen here. Look how FAST we responded to the Asian tsunami!! And here we are, FIVE DAYS LATER, before supplies get into the area. I see the plight of these people on TV and I have to fight back the tears and the rage.
  11. I should have some more news on Tuesday (Monday is a holiday here in the US)
  12. Better grab it now; even if you don't need it. I use SuSE Linux 9.3 but grabbed Linspire just because it was free. I'll probably stick it in a dual-boot partition and mess with it a bit.
  13. Nope, I had to post in that thread to let them know. But you must remember, BC3K is a classic.
  14. quote: Originally posted by Raziel: Would you like to know more? LMAO!! Oh man, that was classic!! YEAH! tell us more about it. I plan on downloading it this weekend.
  15. Even though there is no box for UCAWA, you will like how the back of the manual contains the text/graphics that would have been on the box. So, just make belief you have the box.
  16. quote: Originally posted by $iLk: The National Guard shouldn't be in Iraq. That's what we have an actual Army/Marine Corps for. New Orleans is going to hell in a handbasket, and National Guard are having to be pulled from all over the country to fill the gaps left by Mississippi and Louisiana National Guard in Iraq. Absolutely. Anyway, I found the comic to be hilarious.
  17. Enough with this crap please. If I get one more PM, I'm going to come back here and hurt someone.
  18. Anyone tried it yet? Is it worth getting?
  19. Yeah, I see how that could be confusing. pah! he was merely saying that he ordered both at the same time. You silly - silly - man.
  20. You got a free copy of BCM because you ordered your copy early. Did you NOT read the BMT orders page? The CD-ROM for BCM is inside the BCM manual. If its not there, you need to contact BMT and let them know. In fact, I already created a separate thread about the UCAWA manual orders. The manuals were produced AFTER the CD-ROM and are two COMPLETELY SEPARATE orders and items. sheesh
  21. In 2001, FEMA warned that a hurricane striking New Orleans was one of the three most likely disasters in the U.S. But the Bush administration cut New Orleans flood control funding by 44 percent to pay for the Iraq war.
  22. Came across this site today from a comment posted in a C|Net article.
  23. 10 real PC games you can download for free Guess whats on the list
  24. Are we banning someone today? Who? and why?
