Public Preview Demo 3 Released!
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Game Demo Discussions
If your system can handle it, go to Config and change the NPC GUN CRAFT SOUNDS to ALL. Then wait until the carnage in Mars (first scenario in the demo) breaks out. Be sure to use the F9 and F10 camera views [ 07-07-2005, 06:19 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ] -
With the imminent release of UCAWA later this month, a third and final demo has been released. Servers will soon start popping up everywhere. Check the downloads page for links, though I think 3DGamers will have it online first, since they are pretty quick. Unless your system meets with the minimim requirements for the game, don't even bother. The demo contains elements from the previous two demos, but all the scenarios have been revised e.g. the RFM scenario now takes place in stormy weather; in the CMDR scenarios you are piloting different crafts; some of the marine scenarios feature different weapons etc etc Based on final game code/engine with revisions since the game first went Gold on 04-15. These revisions include improved graphics, assets, tweaks etc etc. All Dreamcatcher branding and assets removed and replaced. Based on previous two demos, so they are not required, as this will install separately.

Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You HAVE been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. WARNING: Due to users going from the base 2.00.00 patch to the current 2.00.xx patch; this patch WILL delete ALL saved games. So, if you are upgrading from 2.00.19 or higher, backup the files in the SAVE folder before applying the patch. If you run an mp server, you should also backup your UCSETUPMP.INI file. After applying the patch, copy them back to the SAVE folder. If you attempt to do this with any saved game version earlier than the specified version, good luck bud. This patch contains a DirectX 9.0c runtime update which Microsoft has released. Since some folks are not reading the VCF, let me point out that you MUST install this update by running the DXSETUP.EXE file located in the new DIRECTX folder where the game is installed. This was included as of the 2.00.30RC15 patch. So if you already did this, you don't need to do it again.

AFIK, it is still with sci-fi and the new season starts on 7/15 @ 10pm EST. Maybe NBC has licensed the re-run rights.

First read the interview. Then read the comments. You'll be rolling by the time you're done.

....and then the lawsuit. Lets not forget the LAWSUIT!! Methinks she's been drinking far - far - too much Vodka.

Pretty funny, this Computer & Video Games quote: So, Boiling Point then. Unfinished, dated, buggy, oddly translated, extraordinarily demanding on the system, brimming with sound problems, riddled with diabolical AI and with voice-acting so bad that one character can occasionally have three voices. But also quite fun. Probably the best shit game on the market. How so?

About bloody time

....othe than that, I think he likes it.

If you are getting a crash when changing game resolutions in Config, I have uploaded a patch refresh. Simply apply on top of the current version. The version number has not changed.

Please don't clutter my board with rubbish or you will be banned.

The sig is fine; since it is an XFire (which we support) sig.

I refreshed the patch this morning. Everyone needs to re-download and apply it on top of the current installation. The new UCSETUPMP.INI file now contains fields allowing user servers to report to the GameCQ lobby.

Performance issues with Creative Labs Audigy/2 Cards

Looks like I packed an incorrect script into the patch. When you try to connect, the client is launching the single player world instead of the mp world. Looking into it right now. Standby. EDIT: OK, I have re-issued the patch. If you downloaded it before, grab it again and re-apply it as normal. [ 07-03-2005, 08:42 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

This patch contains our unified GameCQ lobby which was to be released in the final patch. All our future games (including UCO for which it was designed), use this lobby. It is add-free, spam free and provides a unified interface for chat, server browsing and joining, net browsing etc etc. It is very much a Beta which we will keep on improving until finalized when Universal Combat Online goes Beta next year; since most of its features are specifically designed for that game only. The VCF shows you how to install the program. It contains docs which describe the basic features. Everything else is self-explanatory. Welcome to the future. EDIT: If you get a "bootstrap" error when you try to connect to a server from within the lobby, your game path is not configured correctly in the registry. Go to this registry entry and make sure the "path" variable is correctly set to where the game is installed. Pay attention to the trailing backslash character in the path!!! quote: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWARE3000adUniversal Combat] "path"="C:Program FilesDreamCatcher3000ADUniversal Combat" Do NOT go editing your registry if you don't know what you are doing!!! OMG!! As a big fan of the first, and a fan of Jason Statham, I almost jumped for joy when I saw the trailer.

Ganked from GameCloud. Pretty funny actually.

Gummy, try updating to the *latest* DirectX 9.0c from the June 2005 SDK distro. MS screwed up with some D3DX DLLs (see my latest UC VCF entry) and that may be the cause if the game uses D3DX and you don't have the required DLLs. You can grab the DLLs over here I think and apply them after applying the latest DX 9.0c (well, its 'd', but MS isn't saying so). I will be including them in the upcoming UC patch. quote: Originally posted by ShoHashi: Hmm..there seems to be enough of us getting it...maybe we oughta start a 3000AD Falcon squadron! Good idea!!! I can even setup an mp server, since I have a spare machine and tons of bandwidth. My copy shipped out from GoGamer on July 1st and should be here on the 5th. The wait is killing me. But I'm not uninstalling my current F4 version until I get that box in my hands. Too bad we're not going to get that nice spiral manual that came with the original F4. Man, that was the manual of all manuals.
