  3. Its not a patch and please don't post in any tech or game forum until you register and add your game CDKEY to your sig as indicated in the topic at the very top of the forum. Thanks.
  4. Q: I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong life. Is this true? A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and that's it...don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster. Want to live longer? Take a nap. Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and vegetables? A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable products. Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio? A: Well, if you have a body, and you have body fat, your ratio is one to one. If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc. Q: What are some of the advantages of participating a regular exercise program? A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy is: No Pain...Good. Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you? A: You're not listening. Foods are fried these days in vegetable oil. In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be bad for you? Q: What's the secret to healthy eating? A: Thicker gravy. Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little soft around the middle? A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets bigger. You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach. Q: Is chocolate bad for me? A: Are you crazy? HELLO ...... Cocoa beans ... another vegetable!!! It's the best feel good food around! Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had about food and diets. Now go have a cookie...flour is a veggie!

Ironically as I type this I had hit the MS Start Menu key instead of ALT and just lost an hour+ of play....ahh a galaxy for an autosave, or maybe just a sticky note on the monitor to "SAVE THE GAME EVERY 10 MINUTES" If you run your game in a window (/w1), the game will multi-task all day long, it won't crash if you hit the Win Key, and it's NOT supported, so use at your own risk. Yeah, and if you want full screen but windowed, you can use /w2 if you first set your desktop resolution to whatever resolution (e.g. 800x600, 1024x768) the game is running at. That will give you windowed mode but in fullscreen. Its all in the FAQ. Most games have a problem with the Windows key while running in exclusive fullscreen mode and the only remedy is to disable this key. Going to Google and searching for "windows key" or "wkeykill" shows tons of pages about this.
  7. I have actually been working on the MP patch off and on and there are some fixes in the 2.00.16 related to that though I didn't include VCF entries because this 2.00.16 patch was purely incidental due to problems some were having with the [recently pulled] 2.00.15 patch. I am working on the critical MP issues (listed at the bottom of the VCF) here and there as I find time; since I'm primarily working on UCHI/UCHTL now. But MP kernel bug fixes in UC have to be fixed for the UCHI kernel anyway; so never fear, I'm on it.
  8. I released this last night with the 2.00.16 patch. Check the registered user downloads page. This lite version is like GBS-II for BCM Gold and can only be used to create scripts. Nothing else. From time to time I can field questions here and will one day get around to actually documenting some of the script command usage in the gbsIII_qref.pdf file. Though the kernel is different, most of the tutorials in the GBS-II thread are valid. The distribution also includes: Sample scripts, the script parser, some docs BCStudio for viewing models. Copy bcstudio.exe and bcstudio.ini only, to the game install folder. Playmod for hacking cheats into an existing saved game. Copy playmod.exe to the game install folder. No, you cannot modify the INI files in the DATA folder. Try that and you will invalidate your game. EDIT: I have updated the VCF on the downloads page to reflect sample usage for the new commands included in the 2.00.16 GBS-III parser. I also re-uploaded the zip file. It now contains PTEstudio which can be used for finding mzone locations for planetside scripts. [ 10-21-2004, 08:17 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

If you had, you'd have seen this quite clearly in the tech forum.
  10. Yeah, I have no idea what was going on there because it worked fine here with a clean install end the 2.00.15 patch. Oh well.
  11. Gamespot has the scoop This is crazy, just crazy. I keep saying this over and over, pirates should get the death penality. Its the only way to be sure.
  12. I couldn't reproduce this, so I've gone ahead and released my current version as a new patch. Be sure to read the VCF.
  13. Check the reg page. The online VCF has also been updated. You have to positively read the VCF before applying this patch. You have been warned. For those of you new to UC. You need to install the v2.00.00 patch first, before installing this patch on top of it. The MD5 hash file is also on the page. You can use a program such as WinMD5 to compare this hash against the file you downloaded. To check the download's MD5 hash, do the following: download the patch and extract the contents into the game install folder. Run winMD5 (or similar program) Go to File/Open MD5 file and load the patch MD5 file located in the game install folder. Go to File/Open File and load the patch file you downloaded above. If winMD5 reports the status as good, then your patch downloaded correctly and can be used to patch the game.
  14. OK, I'm going to do a fresh install and see whats going on. brb
  15. Everything works 100% as it should. NONE of the scripts, nor the interpreter were modified in this patch and NONE of the revisions have ANYTHING to do with scripts. That part about starting on the surface of galcomhq is just rubbish. If you folks have hosed your environment, start from scratch. If you want to go back to the previous patch, be my guest, but this patch is fine and will remain as-is. Until someone who knows what they're talking about (which excludes both of you) tells me otherwise, this issue is now closed.

    LOST

    LOST airs tonite!!!! hehe
  17. n00bs, let me explain something, since I don't want to get involved in this: If you see a vet (e.g. Shingen) taking their time to help you, give hints etc and you keep tripping up, they're going to stop. Guess what? You'll be on your own. The game has a very advanced AI that is NOT supposed to work the way you expect it. Thats the nature of AI and that is how I intended it when I spent - the better part of almost fifteen years - coming up with it. Its not an exact science and if it was, NONE of you would last five minutes in this game world when up against the dumbest NPC the game creates. I single handedly wrote the game manual (like I do all my manuals). I then came up with an extensive tutorial and tips file. Those are designed to give an insight into how the game works and plays. If you don't read and absorb this information, its your loss, not mine. My game documentation is as accurate as its ever going to be and when I change or revise something, the revision file gets updated. So if you choose to split hairs while NOT reading the manual (e.g. incessantly posting about your speed vs the AI, when in fact you didn't even READ the manual section on power allocation and how it affects your ship's max thrust), again, thats your lose. Finally, if DEFEND and ESCORT were ever designed to do the same thing, there would be one instead of two. Similarly SAD and SEAD are absolutely different orders. Again, you can ignore all of this and go it alone.
  18. wot? lemme go check that. EDIT: Works fine here. The game is running faster now and if you sit around after launch, you will immediately come under fire from the hostile raiders in the region. In fact, you can try this theory yourself; just add the /i cheat to the commandline and run it. [ 10-20-2004, 06:32 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  20. Ah yes, another month, another industry lawsuit.
  21. Wal-Mart are complete bastards. You have NO idea what they put game publishers through. They are a classic example of corporate America gone wrong.
  22. erm, welcome
