I just hope support doesn't go the same way once BCG is live. I can't wait, although I will need a major hardware upgrade to run it (and have a wife to convince!). Its not that. I mean, BCG will be the fifth title in the series. And after 14+ years of the same franchise, I mean, who wouldn't want a break? Why would support go away? We're still supporting even BCM, which was released back in 2001. Support has nothing to do with this. I'm just tired of it. The XBox project presents a clean break and BCO will always be there for when I need a Battlecruiser fix.
  2. Cool. Keep it going guys. I have a plan.
  3. LMAO!!!
  4. There's nothing wrong with the ship. I just tried it and it works just fine.
  5. quote: Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Darn; PerTrak sounded really cool. Is there no way to make a just four panes each one the appropriate deck? But just have it info and not another interface. Tacscan does the same thing with dots and that works great. No, thats not possible. You are forgetting the fact that its not just dots on a screen. Its dots in the correct location. If you see a dot in, e.g. engineering and moves out of there into the corridor en route to operations, you have to track that on the schematic. And when that dot goes from one deck to another, you have to do the same thing. Then there's the issue of how many captial ships (and transports) there are. Well, go count them. Each one would need a set of four deck schematics. Too much work. Too little benefit. Adds nothing to the game - that isn't already there - except one more interface. And I'm out of time and quite bored with this BCG project already. All the challenges I once faced when I started out, are gone. All gone. Now its just a matter of time and resources. And thats the reason why I even considered doing BCO so that I don't have to piss around for two years - and a ton of money - on a single project. Its just not fun anymore. And I've said this already. If this were BCO we were talking about, then putting in stuff won't be a big deal because there aren't any deadlines to worry about, resources etc etc because it is an MMOG project which, in itself, can be in a perpetual state of advancement. As long as there are subscribers to fund it. In fact, we've been working on the XBox project for about two months (pre-production was about four) now and I need to get this [bCG] over with so that I can focus my full attention to that. It is a new challenge and while a lot, lot smaller in scope than any BC game, it is a lot of fun and quite challenging. quote: Originally posted by DREADA: Feelings are mutual. Since there's no BCTC now, I was thinking all's not lost as we'd still get PerTrak - the closest we were going to get (until BCO?) to a graphical view of what goes on inside ships. Oh well... I fail to see the connection between BCTC and PerTrack. Maybe because there is none.
  6. You can re-open it now. No need to remove anything
  7. quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: I mean PERSCAN / assign marines to ship defense/patrol screen(s). The reason I'm asking is one of the most often stated complaints (from infidels) about BC series is the reliance on text lists to convey information, thus I was kinda wondering if SC has done something about that. Was it still just like existing PERSCAN, or did you went to dots moving in RogueSpear-type 3D wireframes yet? ah, I see. Nope. Haven't touched it and probably won't. Perscan works well and does a good job. I do have a new interface called PerTrak in my design docs but it remains untouched. It was to be a top/down schematic view of the ship and which only shows icons for personnel as they move through the ship. The problem is that its going to be a lot of work (since there are multiple decks) for just info. And since you can send orders in Tactical already, there was no point in adding - yet another - interface to the game. So, this feature is actually #3 on my cut list.
  8. quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: P.S. Jascatar, fix your sig to include your system profile information! He can't, until he registers the game and gets a link. Since he only just got a CDKEY, he'll probably get around to it. In case you missed all the hilarity, check this thread.
  9. quote: Originally posted by LostInSpace: What amazes me about this whole thread is the fact that only when you made a comment about no one helping with the translation did any help come in with that. I guess better late than never. The threat of banning them I think was the key factor. Yeah, hardly what you call a community spirit, is it? Poor guy.
  10. quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: Has SC decided what the marine screen will look like yet? Is it going to be pretty much the same as the one in BCM? Or will there be something more, uh... graphical bent? You mean the first person view? If so, like the interface itself, it has all been radically revised.
  11. quote: Originally posted by aggressor27: Somethign has to have these Susans pissed, I'm just curious what it is. As far as lethargy goes, getting butt hurt over a friggin' game is ludicrous, you know, like the rapper. Its quite simple really. Most of these misfits are not used to people giving them back a taste of their own medicine. And it righteously ticks them off when the pain giving is coming from a developer who has absolutely NO FEAR of engaging anti-social misfits. These Susans really, truly hate it. To the extent that, even when I'm wrong, their actions alone just makes me look that much better. It never fails. And most are really, truly to dumb to realize that, good, bad or ugly, I still win. And speaking of misfits, here is our man's latest email to CAT. Just imagine what he posted and which got him banned. I don't even want to post it because it is 10x more offensive than this and quite a few people saw it before it was pulled. quote: From: "Larry Walsh" [email protected] To: [email protected] Bcc: Subject: Re: Topic Moved: Debris Fields Date: Fri, 04 Jul 2003 02:14:03 +0000 How's it feel, being the asslicker of the biggest ******* on earth? Toady. I'm putting your addy on ignore now. Bye bye. quote: Originally posted by aggressor27: quote:Originally posted by Kasey Chang: Uh, Aggressor... You ought to fix that sig of yours... My apologies, does alcohol offend you? uhm, can't you see that your sig is broken? Or are you that drunk?
  12. Thats great. Really great. Target #2 acquired.
  13. Ho Lee Cow!! Thats the funniest thing I've seen in a while.
  14. quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: And glad I can contribute to the BC universe. And we're glad to have you around. Stick around long enough and who knows where you might end up in the higher echelons around here.

  17. The minute I saw the topic of this thread, I swear I started laughing. I'm still laughing. Now thats the funniest and most stupid think Resnig has ever done. I sure hope you have a saved game! btw, the VCF has been updated with something you recently encountered and which I promised to find a solution for. Now tell me, what kind of game gives you this kind of experience?
  18. quote: Originally posted by jascatar: no, i think it's not necessary. I think that i have understand. I have recieved the CDKEY, and have registered BCMG. I promise as well to buy BCG as fast as possible when released in european coutry I'm waiting hardly for that Thank God for that!! Can I go to bed now then? quote: Any date ?How about next week? Will that work for you?
  19. What carrier? And if the fighters are in READY status, what happens when you issue the launch command from the menu?
  20. After this twit, lethallarry, insulted everyone on the board (with name calling, profanity etc etc) and which the mods alerted me to and which got the post deleted and him being banned, here is the email he sent to CAT. I mean, is this fool fer real? quote: Just thought his lordship might wanna see what his actions cause other people to think about him... not that he particularly cares what others think, anyway... anyhow, here's the addy of just one of the reviews I'm posting, which I'm putting on all of the boards I go to. I doubt this will result in anything, but if I can cause just one person to avoid buying a game from The Supreme *******, them I'll be satisfied. http://www.moo3.at/board//index.php?act=ST...st=0entry5029 Thanks!
  21. You must be thinking of somewhere else, as there are no sub regions in Pluto. Some regions (e.g. Jupiter, Uranus) which have multiple moons, were split up into smaller sub regions in order to ease down on the processing. Just think, its bad enough handling a space region with a single planet and station. So imagine what would happen if you had Jupiter and all its moons in the same region. So, thats why I split them up. And they're not on the navchart because they are small sub regions which you can only get to from the primary region. e.g. in Jupiter, you can go to any of its four four regions from within the main region.
  22. quote: Originally posted by William McBroom: Does pcdocter for windows check for bad sectors? I have a copy of it on my computer will check and see if it does. Thanks again Dunno. Read the docs. But let us know how it goes because this an unheard of problem and I'm quite certain there's something screwy on your end - especially since it works and then breaks again. This could be a corrupt file (being written to a corrupt disk sector) or something like that.
  23. quote: Originally posted by Epsilon 5: Not funny. I could not log on earlier. Well I thought it was hilarious though. quote: If I didn't paid attention much to jascatar is because I'm playing 100% of my gametime Planetside. Nothing else. NOTHING. Except occasional flash games. (Waiting for BCG and the GBS2 though)I see. So, in the time it took you figure out that couldn't log on (I knew that would get your attention), you could've either (a) translated this crap for him - since I still don't think he gets it ( sent him PM explaining the situation. So, fer crissakes, will you please explain to him that the CDKEY I sent him via PM is for his current copy of BCM or BCMG (I have no clue which he has) and that he doesn't have to pay me anything. As long he promises to buy a legit copy of BCG, we're cool. Goddamnit, don't make me come back here and find this guy still confused or I'm holding you personally responsible!
  24. quote: Originally posted by William McBroom: Do you know the best way to check that on xp? Like a utility or something? Thanks Unfortunately winXP does not come with a disk checker which you can use manually. You'd have to use something like Norton's, Winternals or something.
  25. quote: Originally posted by LostInSpace: As for the canadians did you expect any thing otherwise. They didn't even help us out with Iraq. And now to add insult to injury they won the Olympics. heh, ok, lets not turn this into a Canadian bashing gig, OK? I was just poking fun at Epsilon5 actually.
