Anyone else tried Star Wars Galaxies?
Supreme Cmdr replied to Scrivener's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
All SWG posts go in here. Any twit who creates a new thread, is getting ass-blasted (the first person who gives me the meaning of this term, gets a free gift). You can also go and post here if you like. -
...and why the HELL do we need yet another SWG thread? I'm going to delete this thread when I get back, so, just cut and paste your post in the existing thread by the time this one is deleted. The next person to create a duplicate thread - ANYWHERE - on this site, is getting ass-blasted You've been warned. [ 07-07-2003, 11:17 AM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Today throw in some catch phrases, car crashes, wire fighting, and CGI effects then top it off with a trailer that includes all the best moments and voila' big hollywood movie, how utterly insipid. Looks like you need to find another form of entertainment? How about cultivating an ant farm?

Would be fun to get either/both the real file date/time, or the ingame date/time, or maybe the current location (quadrant/system/planet) And *please*, SC, auto-save when you dock? [/QB] No. And neither of the above are going to be in any BCM game. If/when I add the date/time stamp in the display - like any new feature - it will most likely be in BCG. There are no plans for an auto-save. Save before you dock. The resume the game.

Question about mine defense grids..
Supreme Cmdr replied to TopSpeed's topic in Universal Combat Series
quote: Originally posted by TopSpeed: I was recently dealing death in the Zelana system, and had decided to refit a bit before reinforcements arrived. When I had jumped into the system, I was told the 'mine defense grid' was now active'. Thinking nothing of it, I set my course for the allied base in the system (I can't remember the name). AP took over, and HyperJumping, off I went. I waited, with the base targetted, and eventually flew right past it. I ended up at the other jump point in the system. Again I got the 'mine defense grid active' as I exitted the jump. I figured I put something in wrong, and when my engines recharged, set the course for the base again (It showed up under 'other', I believe). This jump took me back to my original jump-in point. I checked my nav points (none set), pointed towards the station (with it targetted), then tried to jump there again. Once again, back to the other nav point. What I'm wondering is why? Is there something about this system or that base I'm missing? does it sound like I'm setting it up wrong? Or did the 'mine defense grid' somehow cause me to go astray? Thanks 1. You had no idea what you were doing at the time. So you made an incorrect jump. See #3 below. 2. Mine defense grids don't activate unless you actually launch a mine and thats when Mother will say the message. 3. You need to PAY ATTENTION when you're playing the game or you're going to keep posting these false positives. Rule #1 of any commander - even a n00b - is extensive SA. If you were paying attention, you would have noticed that with the AP active, you had changed the target from what it originally was to something else i.e. you were fiddling/pissing around with the NID/TACSCAN targets (take a wild guess what that FP: at the top of the HUD is for), so the AP set course for whatever you had programmed. Thats HOW it works. -
Crash to desktop when recovering drones
Supreme Cmdr replied to CWRM's topic in Battlecruiser Series
quote: Originally posted by William McBroom: I found where the corruption was coming in. If I use the ctrl+alt+s key combination then the next time I launch shuttles there is a crash. If I use the command system menu there is no crash. I have tried it 6 differnt times with the same results. You may want to check the code for that key combination. There's nothing to check. That key combination is used to go to the save game menu and has NOTHING to do with drones. So, I have NO idea what you're talking about. -

Crash to desktop when recovering drones

quote: Originally posted by William McBroom: It happens on both versions. I have norton internet security and let it check all files before I disable it to play BCMG. The only thing I can think of is a bad cd. I ordered it from Dreamcatcher. I have checked drive it is good no problems with western digital diagnostics. It definitely has nothing to do with a bad CD or you won't be able to play the game, let alone have it crash at some point. The fact that it worked, then stopped, tells me that you have something wrong with your system. It could be a bad memory stick. Either way, if it can't be reproduced - which is can't - then it can't be fixed. Sorry. Extracting drones never has and shouldn't ever cause a problem. In fact, your description below is not clear enough, as there are several ways to extract a drone. So, you might to explain EXACTLY what you are doing and HOW you are doing it - STEP BY STEP, so that someone else can try to reproduce it. quote: I have tried to get around this and have failed sofar. When I send shuttles to recover filled drones the game crashes to desktop. It happens with autopilot or me piloting. The first shuttle to get over a drone and start landing game crash. Is this a bug under investigation? I am running BCMG. -

Not really. It could just be a resistance rally celebrating some major victory, and not necessarily the end of the war.

Until then you'll just have to be patient No, don't. I removed them because the public version of BCS is for model viewing. Not exporting. quote: Originally posted by Cmdr_ Laracuente: If you find a proffesional modelling package frustrating you might want to try wings 3d (it lets you model in a simple way but does not lack in any specific area), but don't expect it to be near or even half of 3d studio max. It was designed for true newbies. wings 3d cheers Milkshape3D is the best modeler for newbies and pros alike. It is also the most extensible due to its ability to export to various formats and for implementing specific formats. You folks need to STOP recommending modeling packages because you have NO idea wtf you're talking about. Unless you can export to the game's .3D file format - which you can only do via MAX plugins - and which NO other modeling program supports, it is a WASTE OF TIME. So KNOCK IT OFF!!! quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: Q1: As there is no display of in-game time/date or actual save file time/date... Is there any way to know which is first and which is last, besides naming each savegame in sequence? Nope. But you can check the files in the SAVE folder using Explorer. I'll probably add the date/time stamp for saved games, to the Restore display in BCG.

Crash to Desktop in Syrion Quadrant...

quote: Originally posted by Kasey Chang: I know, SC... However, it's rather consistent. I remember watching the other AI ships get pummelled, then POOF! I'm back at desktop. It's happened enough times that I'm a bit suspicious. You could have some corrupt files. Or something. I just tried it and it worked fine once the NPCs showed up. You say its consistent. Is that with a new game profile or one you are already playing with? And you need to give steps for reproducing this, since going to the region and sitting around doesn't do anything bad. -

quote: Originally posted by $iLk: Just saw it... finished off the series well enough, though I personally would like to see one of the films set in the future... No doubt there will be a T4. If you listened to the ending narrative from John Connor, you will hear him say that the war has just begun. And since judgement day was always supposed to happen, no doubt the next one will take place on that day and focus on the ultimate war of man vs machine. But given his age and the time it took to go from T2 to T3, it is highly unlikely that Arnold will be in it.

How to get second 4 FC ready to launch?
Supreme Cmdr replied to TopSpeed's topic in Universal Combat Series
You probably didn't wait for the pilots to get INTO the craft. Don't confuse a destination with a location. When in doubt, use PerScan. -

Yeah, I got my copy a few days ago. I'll try to get a scan sometime next week.

Your system could be low on resources. I haven't come across this one before and if I can't reproduce it, I can't fix it. -
Fact is, since BCG is going to be the last BC title of its kind, there is a 99.9% chance that the GBS-III tools and support for Milkshape3D will be included. And all on the CD. This will end any aggravation, speculation, harrassment etc etc.
