Well, it was the same as everyone else. He was impressed. We were at a social gathering the night before and he decided to stop by etc etc. He also said that they were looking into doing new benchmarking programs and whether or not I would be interested in doing one using the BCG engines etc

  6. quote: Originally posted by James C McQueen: but I belive that would have to go into a wishlist thread. No it doesn't. BCG has been on a feature freeze since January and nothings going into it that wasn't already planned. In fact, several features (nothing major though - and which may very well appear in a later patch) have been also been cut, due to lack of time.
  7. Nope. Last I heard, it was in June. btw, there is a topic about BCMG for testers in Area 51, did you miss it?
  8. Goddamnit!! I'm gonna ax you fockers!!! And you're first in line EP5!
  9. Hi James!! Welcome aboard and thanks for your continued support!!
  10. Here's a tip, go up against one and you'll see for yourself. In fact, try this Add the /cheat param to your game shortcut Start a new game with your choice of assets and whatever e.g. Ter/Mil Launch from station and press 0 to stop the ship Left-click on the CHEATS menu that appears on the top-left. And go to CREATE/CRAFTS. Pick the Stormcarrier from there and create it as any hostile race/caste you like e.g. Gammulan/Military Go to Tacops and hit the HOLD button to disable AI updates. Now select the Stormcarrier and give it orders to attack you Toggle the HOLD button again to re-enable AI processing. Good luck!!
  11. Yeah, I've been running these since they were released and they seem OK.
  12. quote: Originally posted by Stinger: Gee, nothing like being condescended to to make me remember to upgrade DivX. aw c'mon, you got off easy!! quote: Thanks. Everything works now and I appreciate the brick in the teeth. LOL!!! You see what I mean? Nothing like a sense of humor. Anyway, glad your problem is solved....though I think upgrading to DivX was a waste of time, since you could've just (a) disabled the intro by using /n as indicated in the VCF ( the 1.00.01 patch replaced the DivX encoded movie with an Indeo 5.1 version. heh
  13. heh, you have the ability to edit your post btw. You should do that instead of having to do multiple posts. You can also delete your own posts (I think).
  14. They will only use them if they have to if they are the proper missiles e.g. they're not going to fire STS missiles on a planet. Those are space missiles. The shuttle pilots will overshoot depending on terrain, AI, where the waypoint is etc etc. Your solution is the best bet. Just use Proceed To Next as the first waypoint, then give the actual wp as WP#2 and try to keep it around 2km or longer so that they have time to plot an approach without again overshooting by much. 15. Ditto what others have said. And if you want to know where the PTA turrets are located on your ship, then download the BCSTUDIO tool from the BCM downloads page, unzip it to your game install folder and load up the starcarrier.3d model. Then go to MODELS/TAGS and turn on PRIMITIVES. You will then see where the PTA turrets are - they are marked by the /TURRET AI tags I put in the model. Then also read the manual about how the PTA system works. It is very detailed and accurately described.
  16. quote: Originally posted by Aphelion7: I'm still worried though, so are you or are you not going to go that in-depth with the first person on any of you're games? I was really excited about that!! I probably will but not anytime soon. If you read the BCO faq, you'll see why.
  17. quote: Originally posted by Stinger: I'm actually a BCM Veteran (after a fashion) and I'd played it all the way up to V 1.07. If you truly are a vet, then you must've taken the wrong turn and ended up at a Budhist temple and in the process, forgotten everything you learned about BCM. Case in point: you used a batch file, to start the game?!? And how do you even know which executable to use? From the sounds of it, you probably ended up using the multi player executable instead of the single player one. Yes, there are TWO which is why there are shortcuts. From reading your thread, it doesn't look like you were a BCM vet nor a Budhist monk. So, here, lemme help since my ignoring this thread for the most part, isn't helping. READ THE FAQ. READ THE VCF.See that VERY FIRST line where it talks about the intro movie? READ IT AGAIN! Drivers. You know what they are right? Good. Now go update them. ALL of them. Then read EVERY single line in the video cards section of the FAQ. Twice. This is really quite simple = to all of you - if your drivers are not up to date, you will get strange anomalies which nobody else is getting. If you've overclocked your vid card, your system, your toaster and your refrigerator, you're on your own. Don't go applying BCM patches on BCM Gold. There are NOT BCM Gold patches to date. Don't go pissing around in the CONFIG settings until you have SUCCESSFULLY run the game using the default settings. If you have a sound card which shouldn't been condemned back when the Adlib card was the rage, disable sounds AND music (especially!). There is absolutely NOTHING new to ANY of these instances that hasn't been covered or not in the FAQ. BCM and BCM Gold use the same exact engine kernel and there is absolutely NO reason why one should work and not the other. NONE.
  18. To avoid any further confusion, I have removed BCTC from the products page and also updated the BCO page.
  19. No problem. Also, your first post isn't clear on what exactly the problem is, what you did to incur it exactly. e.g. saying that you are having a CTD in a campaign is useless information because that has nothing to do with anything. A CTD is a CTD, whether its in the campaign, instant action or sitting out in the front lawn. So, you need to be specific if you want help. I suggest that you start clean etc. And by that, I don't mean do the lazy thing and just carry on. Wipe out the game completely and re-install. If you using BCM, then you need to re-download the 1.08 patch again, just to be sure its not corrupted.
  20. quote: Originally posted by ThinkAtomic: quote: Until this BCMG patch is released, just say NO when prompted and it will continue to grow. Will the BCMG Patch be released after xgamer gets it togther, or were you thinking about releasing it after you take care of the "Issues under Investigation? Or should i siddown? thanks the atomic n00b Well, since the single and multiplayer files are separate executable, there is no reason to hold one while waiting for the other. HOWEVER, I don't want to have to do that because it will just cause me too much headaches.

  22. I didn't say you were causing a problem. Anyway, looking at your profile, why are you running DX 8.0? Under winXP no less?

  24. BCTC has nothing to do with BCG - or any BC product for that matter. I could've sworn that this was already clear on that products page.
