OK, something's burning my ass. So far, eight people have voted against having server configured client types. I'd like to know why, so that I can be a part of the ludicrity that is to follow. So, lets discuss it, shall we?

Yeah, he must've been playing a different version from the rest of the known free world.

Correct In mp your ship will auto-emit an SOS (naturally, if you are in hostile territory, your ass is a gonner) just like NPC ships do (in fact, it should in sp. If not, I'd have to implement that). And requesting a tow in mp will be supported as it is in sp - although you won't be warped to a station. The tow ship will be dispatched from the station to your destination and will then have to travel back to your home base. Of course, there is a good chance that you won't make it. Get ready to spawn. I don't think any experienced cmdr will be requesting a tow in mp. Especially since you can just ask one of your friends to tow you outta there. It is a lot quicker - and probably safer - than waiting for an NPC tow which would most likely get destroyed en-route to you on the return trip to the station. I guess the fact that he (the person who started the thread) didn't even mention such notables as the Freespace series wasn't a clue that he's just a clueless git who doesn't know enough about space sims to even start thinking about eulogizing them? Anyone who wants to lament the decline of space sims, would be someone who has actually *gasp* played the best of the best. Anyway, your [Vanethian] post pretty much says it all. They're clueless. Yep, had a great relaxing day today actually.

One is called worlds, the other is called scenarios. The thing that might be different is that they are zip files and not configuration settings files like all of the other files in that folder. If you have Winzip set to overwrite existing files without prompting, then it won't prompt. Those are zip files. If you actually looked in the zip file you downloaded, you would see what it contains.

It works fine here with the latest ATI Catalyst 5.13.01.6094 drivers. Just don't go pissing around in your card display property settings (for e.g. using RageTweak). If you have, go back and reset it to the defaults.

Trust me, once you see Matt Damon in action, you'll forgot all his other movie characters in a heartbeat. He is definitely believable as a CIA agent. Quite Bond-like if you ask me. Quite the opposite of Ben Affleck's (his friend btw) goofy and easily forgettable portrayal of CIA analyst Jack Ryan in The Sum Of All Fears. [ 06-16-2002, 09:23: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

How much of an idiot do you have to be, in order to post about a Radeon 8500 issue in an nVidia thread - and then say that you don't know if its the proper thread or not? [ 06-16-2002, 09:18: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

It works here. And your browser type is irrelevant to me because I didn't develop UBB. All I know is that it works. And since you already have your avatar defined, quit your foolish whining and go find something else to post about. [ 06-16-2002, 09:16: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

Damn coolest war movie I've seen in ages (I didn't like Saving Private Ryan). Liked it even better than We Were Soldiers. 10/10

Frigging awesome!!! (though it strays a bit from the book somewhat) 10/10

Try this after uninstalling, re-installing, patching to 1.0.07 and unzipping the scripts update file into the BCM install folder (with folders intact). You will know the script update went fine if your zip program asked your permission to overwrite two files in that folder. Start a new game as Ter/Mil commander Launch Send the AE (do NOT transport any marines!) to the transporter and then beam him into the middle of a hostile Ter/Ins military or starbase. Run around a bit and make sure you are detected and let's if you don't get acquired and attacked. I want some more people to try this please and let me know the results.

The forum was down for a few hours today while I did routine maintenance and upgraded to the latest version of UBB. You will notice that your avatars are probably broken. This is because I was previously using an avatar hack. This version of UBB now supports avatars. So, go into your profile and update your avatar if it is broken as a result of this update. You can now also use a custom avatar from your own or other site. Please report any anomalies with the upgrade. [ 01-04-2003, 01:24 PM: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

I beam my Ter/Mil AE directly into a Ter/Ins base on Earth and I get my ass flamed to a fine crisp. So, I dunno what the problem is.

...I'd like to get my hands on the bastards who are voting against having server configured client connect types. I wonder why anyone would vote against such an idea. See what happens when you let loose the dogs of democracy? I should just lay down the law next time.

It's a pity we don't have DSL or Cable connections here, so i must use 56kbps connection and i'm waiting for the technicians to install 64kbps ISDN... yes, there's no real difference in speed but at last i'll be able to always be connected while using the telephone at the same time. And the DSL service will come ONLY in september in this land... damn! heh, 56K?!?! Man, I feel your pain

I appreciate your graciousness but a man's home should be his castle, I was only yankin your chain. However , I'd be happy to buy you beverage should I run into you somewhere. LOL!!! Man, don't care me!!!! As for the privacy thing, I was only half-kidding. If you are passing by, just give me a buzz (my office number should be broadcasting a recording from the phone company about the new number by now) and if I'm available, we'll hook up.
