  1. I think we're better off doing this in January once the holidays are over. This way, more people can attend.
  2. quote: Originally posted by Thermidor: This will probably indicate my "newbieness"..but who's Resnig? From the commentary here he's beginning to sound a lot like Arnold Rimmer from Red Dwarf. LOL!! You have no idea. Just do a search on the site for that name and you'll be laughing for hours.
  3. quote: Originally posted by Malkuth: Never mind then. I solved my problem, just wont go after ships to close to planets. And here I was thinking you already knew that. Oh well quote: Drivers are up to date with xp. Will update my Profile. Havent touched it since I started up. Sorry about that SC. heh, the whole purpose of having that there, is so that I can have a quick look at someone's profile when they report a problem. So, if your profile is out of date, well then. Everyone should update their profile when their system changes.
  4. quote: Originally posted by Dunks: I have read a few posts from people useing windows xp having trouble with save games. Unrelated. Anyway, defrag your hard drive and run a system check on it. As long as you have patched up to 1.0.02 ***PROPERLY*** You should have NO problems with saved games. In fact, in the past day, I've received no less than four* saved games with issues that needed investigating and I was able to restore all of them on my primary winXP system with no problems. *For some reason, Robert Walls decided to send me a saved game - WITHOUT - me asking him for it. Then of course, I go and check it, and the saved game is from an older version of BCM. And top it off, my reply to him bounced, because he still has his @home email address in his reply-to. Go figure.
  5. quote: Originally posted by EAGLE: Unusual problem (possible abuse)I have my ship full with minirals (SC, OC, Drones) Cargo bay2 reads at 0 (completly full) when i dock with the station and check in Logistix Cargo bay2 is still 0 But when go to trade come Cargo bay 2 changes to -324 when i check back in Logistix its -324 as well, and if i keep it below 0 i will have unlimited cappacity for minirals. Save file availble. Looks like sometimes the cargo bay in Logistix was not being updated. Plugged. This one is harmless btw
  6. quote: Originally posted by Badgerius: More like: "And so the Gammulans broke the arms of the terrans, and the Terrans did then reciprocate using nuclear weapons, and as Gammulans settled down in their kerchiefs and caps for a long nuclear winter nap, there once again was peace." LMAO!!! Shouldn't there be a RANDOM in there somewhere?
  7. quote: Originally posted by Jaguar: Which protocol EP5, winpoet? or some other fun one? I have to use Winpoet and I think it sucks!! But I can help you set it up if that is indeed what you are using. Yes. WinPoet sucks to an unimagineable degree. I switched from AT&T cable to Mindspring DSL earlier this week and because I use a LinkSys BEFSR11 router, I didn't need to use WinPoet. Thank heavens for that. All I needed to do was configure the router to dial into Mindspring and I was golden.
  8. woohooo!! Its out today. Lunch time, am THERE!!
  9. It works fine here You don't have access to debug mode Ask someone else to try it and show you how
  10. Download WorldTime. Thats what I use
  11. Fixed it. He was already registered, but he had his first/last names in the wrong order. I've reversed it for him.
  12. LMAO!!! Man, thats cruel.
  13. The evac state wasn't being cleared. It has no adverse effects, but it has been fixed. In previous BC titles, once the evac state was set, you had to abandon the ship. And after the evac, you get a new one and the evac state is then cleared. Not so in BCM (you evac, the game ends) - which is why the evac state was never cleared.
  14. Its definitely a driver problem because I have a Santa Cruz installed on a WIN98/WIN2K dual-boot system and it works fine. I don't have WINXP (like you do) on that machine, so, you're on your own. Let me know how it goes.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Malkuth: Ok SC your right that makes sense fine. But Im not in the gravity pull of the planet when I left HS. And if thats also the case why doesnt the Enemy ship fall into the Gravity too?Was playing all after noon and it happened again at pluto. Pain in the butt. I was not anywhere near the planet when I came out. In fact the enemy ship was Beyond the Pluto Space Station. But I did HS through it again. And ended up getting damaged again. If you are entering the planet, it means that you are within its grav pull. How else would you like this explained to you?
  16. quote: Originally posted by Malkuth: All Right I give up on this game. All day Ive been trying to stay alive in this game, which I was doing great at. Only thing that just killed me for the second time today is A CTD I just looked at your profile. Not only are you NOT using the latest nVidia drivers for winXP, I suspect that other drivers are old as well. If you are concerned about CTDs, read the FAQ. As for the saved game, no, I'm not interested in it. If you have a CTD and the saved game won't load, its probably corrupted due to the CTD.
  17. Agreed 100%. And thats the plan going forward.
  18. quote: Originally posted by Tac: as if you didnt know that typing #90 during the opening movie of BC:M gave your crew 100% AI and 3 billion credits.No..wait, that aint it.. agh, never mind. LMAO!!! Jesus H. Christ Tac, I wasn't prepared for that one and I ended up waking the baby when I burst out laughing. /note to self, never read Tac's posts while babysitting
  19. OK, pack it up and sent to me. Check the announcements thread for the procedure on sending in saved games.
  20. quote: Originally posted by Soback: SORRY, I was able to replicate this occurance everytime yesterday. All I needed to do was save/exit, reload. I tried it today and everything is working fine. [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Soback ] Don't worry, I knew it was bollocks the first time I read it. Now aren't you glad I didn't go on a wild goose chase? 21. quote: Originally posted by Malkuth: Alright my understanding of the hyper drive thing states that when in hyper drive planets, moons, ships do not exsist in hyperSpace. Well just had a bad experience in my Police Cruiser in Pluto Region. I came into pluto and found some fighters beating up on a few Transports on the other side of Pluto. I used the Autopilot to intecept and attack the fighers, but I flew through the planet (do it all the time in other regions) and when I came out of hyper I was pulled back to pluto and entered it, even though I left hyper far away from the planet. Very Very bad to enter pluto with your CC. I got out before to much damage happened though. Its strange sometimes you can do it fine. Other times the planet sucks you back up and you enter the planet. Hmmmmmm. ....and the problem is what? If you target an object that is beyond the planet and you drop out of HS while still within the planet's grav pull, what did you expect?
  22. Some of those castes (e.g Explorer) don't have a TO. One of the requirements for Fleet C&C is that you must have one. Did you not check the Fleet C&C tab in Tacops? If you did, you would have seen the message. I'm running in the debug mode, so I have Fleet C&C regardless I will remove the TO restriction for harmless castes in the next patch. Also, maybe the AI is overridding the EP requirement for the rank. So, just in case, I have increased the EPs to match the rank. Go ahead and re-download the file and try it again. FYI to modders. Here are the commands used. The second one was just added. set_rank 2 ep_add,150000 [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  23. oh, OK. Anyway, if the condition doesn't clear, they won't go anywhere. I suspect that something is preventing that condition from clearing. Send in the saved game. I'm assuming you know the rules for submission of saved games? If not, check the announcements threads. [ 12-18-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  25. quote: Originally posted by DeSylva: Thank you. I expect Derek to accept your apology any time now...*nudge nudge*.*grin*. -GD I didn't even KNOW it was up!! I just got the pointer from Greg over in the other thread. Anyway, thanks E5. I know you didn't have to do it and you could just as well told me to F off. You are a staunch member of this community (like that other pain, Blades ) and I said, it was a hard decision for me to make (it was easier to restore your profile in anticipation of an apology ). But you do understand my NO EXCEPTIONS rule to how things are run. Alls well that ends well. And we all make mistakes. Oh wait!! Does this mean I have to register my copy of WinRar now then?
