Some of you who post to other game boards, please pass this around. Funny, I didn't add X:BTF to the list. Will ask BMT to do that now.

Dunno if your saved game would work, since that pointer wasn't set in the saved game you sent. But try it anyway and let me know.

Check out the sales page and spread the word

Tyrn, check the Beta home page. I have uploaded an update version for you guys. Barring any critical issues, I will release it to the public later tonite or tomorrow. So, go check it out.

I would definately have made a crap beta tester.SC....holiday. [ 12-20-2001: Message edited by: Fendi ] hehe, that was the frequent sentiment during Beta. By the time someone thinks they'd discovered something, they find that its already been reported and or fixed. So, don't feel bad.

Anyway, these issues were pretty minor and the submitted saved games helped to immediately find most of them. Yes. Saved games are backward compatible with 1.0.02 and this patch will not delete them.

The patch has been uploaded to all mirrors. This patch will NOT delete saved games. But if you are patching from 1.0 retail or 1.0.01 patch, saved games are obsolete and must be deleted manually from the SAVE folder. VCF to reflect what is contained in it. Night at the movies - Lord of the rings (minor spoilers alert!!!)

The important thing though is that the screenplay does not diminish the story because most of the scenes and people left out are side line characters and events. That one scene in Bree, however, is the only way the hobbits can dare trust Strider and gives great insight into who he really is. Cutting that was a mistake IMO but a forgivable one because of how great the film is. I agree. But you see, even though I read the books a LONG time ago, the movie was good enough that the missing characters didn't ruin it. Know what I mean? Thats one fine script I tell you. Come to think of it, that deleted scene in Bree would've been nice, but I think that they probably removed it because trusting Strider would have happened anyway. I guess they figured that we wouldn't notice. Notice? I clean forgot!! I have the original books here somewhere, but I'm going to go out and buy the newly released trilogy set today. Damn, this movie was good. -
Jump matrix? What jump matrix?

It's a fun but flawed product, which is being patched often to address these flaws and to add new content. (sound familiar?) uhm, not quite the same. Let me explain. BCM shipped with the features I wanted to ship it with. Anything I added in the patches I did of my own volition and some were mp related. DAoC on the other hand, shipped with missing features that were *required* by the game (kinda like WWIIO). Multiplayer in a game, is just another feature, like say, Fleet C&C. So, I could just have easily have dropped a myriad of features and shipped BCM with mp that wasn't fully fleshed out or tested. Because the BC games have always been single-player, sacrificing that for just another feature, was something I had no plans to do. Unlike that other space sim. Bug fixes are a different matter. Because no game can be 100% bug free, especially not such a massive game like BCM - which, it so happens, was in Beta for almost a year. But generally, I get the point you were making.

When I first tried the final interface (with the clickable blips on the scope) I was very impressed, and still am. The interface was one of BC3K's weaknesses, but in BCM it's a great strength. I agree. But as we all discussed in another thread, when you have a limited number of space to do a review, you then tend to gleam over some aspects. I think that because BC3K didn't have an immediately intuitive interface, that jaded memory prevails in the mind of some....its like group hypnotism.

All that data is stored on my servers and you can go back and update your registration profile when you upgrade. So, please go and do it. Thanks

You can NEVER enter a planet at 2000 clicks distance. Period. You must have been looking at your range to the target itself and NOT the planet. If you were targeting the ship, the range would NOT be of the planet because the current target is in the Tacscan and NOT the NID. Learn how to use these systems properly. Reading the relevant sections in the manual would be a good start. -
Night at the movies - Lord of the rings (minor spoilers alert!!!)
Supreme Cmdr replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in The Arts
If my memory serves me right, only two characters were cut. I can see why though, they weren't all that important and probably would have bogged down the movie. As for the fights, they were just right. I mean it. To me, they weren't drawn out, shallow or anything. Lets not even talk about the specialFX. In fact, though some of the scenes were brutal, the absense of ANY sort of blood and gore, was nothing short of spectacular. You could tell that it was a vicious fight, but even when an Orc takes an arrow between the eyes, you don't wince. You're right about the swords. I forgot about that!! Oh well, time to go read those books again. -
Don't you just luv it when a good plan comes together?

OMG!!! This is THE BEST movie I have seen ALL my life. I'm NOT kidding. In fact, I'm taking the missus and toddler to see it tomorrow. Damn, this movie was good. Now I gotta wait TWO frigging years for part 2&3. Damnit! I hate it when they do that. I would have happily sat through all nine hours without taking a pee break. No kidding. And all of you thinking that Hollywood ruins books. Let me tell you this, if they ruined any part of it, I didn't notice. Except for a scene at the inn which probably didn't make the cut. Dunno. If you know the format for the strobes, yes you can add it because the engine supports it.
