I was in tacops, trying to get one of my shuttles to launch (which won't, bummer but oh well), I selected logistix from the tacops menu, clicked on crafts, saw the damage display, and just to see what would happen, I clicked on repairs, and ALL systems went up to 100%. Cool! exited out to cockpit mode, and ship flies like new, ship status in right-hand (CVD?) shows all systems good to go, but my armor and hull strentgh still shows damage. Are you sure? Can you reproduce it 100%? You should not be able to repair any craft that is not docked on the CC or at a station/base.

In fact, I DO have that in the code, its just disabled. I put that in when I was putting in the new PTE-II SDK engine. 2. Light is not emitted from planets, so, even if you could see the Moon from Earth, it won't cast a light. Only the Sun casts a light. I've got some serious and absolutely insane plans for XP1 in the graphics dept. Not saying much at this time, so don't ask.
  4. ...man, this musta been one helluva vision! Yeah, I got visions too.....visions of the multi-colored bullseye am gonna paint on ship hulls.
  5. quote: Originally posted by Blades: We might not agree with him, but we cant prevent him from venting in places where we dont have control. Agree. And its not about controlling him. All I know is, anyone who has personal issues with me, shouldn't f*cking be on my site. Period. And as has already been noted, he's always been a loose cannon and not the first time he's getting into trouble. I didn't know him enough to miss him. pah! I've banned people who've been here longer. I'm an equal opportunity banner. In fact, I recently suppressed Drew Vogel's (vogelap) posting rights because of something he said to another. He apologized, I let him back in. Drew's been around for like, forever.

  9. quote: Originally posted by Soback: The newbies are nice. Most seem to be getting really into the game and will be sticking around forever, while some will inevitably become washouts. You can tell the ones that are really good when they stop posting silly questions and either start helping the newcomers settle or start RPing or telling stories. I feel kinda sorry for Zuul though, it seemed he was starting to come around. I agree. oh, I let Zuul back in last night. Sent him notification too.
  10. Hey thats cool, though it grossly incomplete. If you can complete it, then I can get Gallion add it to a new glossary.html file in the online appendix.
  11. quote: Originally posted by Barron Morris: SC, Could you please look into this, I have posted about it in numerous places on the forum, and I have read the VCF and do not see it mentioned. If you tell me its not a bug I swear I will speak of it no more. Take any crusier or carier down to planet, land, turn of engine. Go to tack ops and launch shuttle. The result here is it goes to bridge view, with graphic glitch after shuttle is luanched, and I can not return to tac ops untill it is recovered. Sometimes it takes launching a second shuttle but it always happens. I can reproduce it every time, with rc9. Also, I have talked with others who have reproduced it as well. If its not in the VCF, it means I can't reproduce it. Now siddown. And I just tried it again. Works just fine.
  12. OK, which one of you ladies sent me on a wild goose chase with this disappearing Tacops TTD business??? I can't reproduce it and as such, I've removed it from the VCF (which I've now updated with other fixes). 1.0.02 goes final tonite, so, unless I have a way of accurately 100% reproducing this, its not going in. I still stand by what I posted before, its not a bug and the TTD is probably being filtered out or toggled. This can happen depending on the Tacscan mode, the CVD/RTM mode or even the TTD toggle itself.

You were around playing a BC title back when we used a BBS (Wildcat BBS) system to tranfer files. I'm sure the other vets can pitch theirs in [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  14. quote: Originally posted by Menchise: BTW, I saw the comments TLR made about the soapbox. Nobody has replied to your response yet. They must still be taking their nap. Give it time, it'll be a bloodbath soon. As I was telling the guys in our internal mailing list... the part I like the most, is when I post on forums where they actually ban people (e.g. VE). So, I post some attention getting diatribe. It usually totally puts the detractors at wits end, tits up. ....resulting in mass acts of Net Hari Kari (where you post something you know is going to get you banned or burned to a crisp - but you post it anyway). *g* And before you know it, you have an epidemic of people crying foul! Gotta luv it. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  17. quote: Originally posted by Commander Elio Jason: i feel like such a noob asking this but, where can you find that in game picture folder? All screen shots are stored in TGA format in the SHOTS folder.
  18. OK, I have updated some of them and commented out the dead links. Send all requested link changes to [email protected]
  19. Which is why you guys should do proper pre-screening and not just go on wanton recruiting drives.
  20. Depending on the ship, they are launched from under. So, in VTOL, launch them while moving UP at high speed, just like he said. And if that doesn't work, that means they are launched forward. So, hit the retros while launching and the ship will move back while the mine is shot forward. Remember, the ships are massive, compared to puny mines, so, the distance traveled has to be significant enough when you separate. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]

  23. So, what do you vet thinks of the new breed of newbies? I've seen great promise (and some pretty hilarious humour) from the new breed. They show a lot of promise. What do you guys think? I like 'em. And so far, I've only banned one (Melanie650) I now know has a pirated copy of the game and temporarily suppressed another's posting rights (Zuul). Since these guys show such promise, I'm not sure we're going to get the mp fodder we were so looking forward to. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
