  2. quote: Originally posted by Urza: That's not quite true. Yeah it is. I wrote the code. So I know. Siddown.
  3. quote: Originally posted by Soback: Could it be added to the appendix in the upcoming patch which ships can use what upgrades? This would be really nice. No. Its too much unnecessary work. I've already updated the artifacts link the appendix with the explanation already provided here.
  4. Am gonna kill 'im!!! Who last had the rope?
  5. quote: Originally posted by Advil: I'm not so sure it's that serious. If I remember correctly, your CC shields have to be down as well to be towed correct? And the shuttle's definately do.So if you use this method very often for anything other than dire need, sooner or later it's going to get you and your crew instantly killed. Eventually you're going to get towed right past a cloaked enemy that's going to rip through your shieldless hull in about five seconds flat. [ 11-28-2001: Message edited by: Advil ] Exactly!!!

  8. quote: Originally posted by James Allen: As the author of said review, let the fun commence!http://www.gamegenie.com/reviews/pc/bcm.shtml 'Jaguar' James Allen Game Reviewer, GameGenie.com James, Were you been drinking, uhm, tea, prior to reviewing that? I mean seriously No dynamic traffic???!??? Destroyed objects (e.g. you mentioned stations "It does not break up into distinguishable parts:"), don't come apart????? As for this "Now, the space in Battlefield Millennium may be more accurate" The game is Battlecruiser Millennium. OK?? I can understand that the game is not everyone's cup of tea and even reviewers are *gasp* human gamers - but unfortunately, I have to say that it doesn't seem as if you spent much time with the game. Were you in a hurry or something? ...and to the rest of you, don't forget the rules, this is a NO FLAMES board. So, keep the rhetoric down. [ 11-28-2001: Message edited by: Supreme Cmdr ]
  9. Yeah, its the same old MP thing again. If it had MP, it would have received a higher score. Just like the PC Gamer review.
  10. quote: Originally posted by Melanie650: Hey SC! Do you want me to send you my gamesave? It has that persistent damage FX thing on it already. No. It can be reproduced. Finding out why its doing it, is what is elusive. quote: And also maybe you can try that transporter bug thing. My save is on the second character slot and the first save space. Just tell me which files to send you if you need em. There are NO transporter bugs in the game. If you can reproduce one, I'd like to know about it. As I said above, if its not in the VCF, its either not a bug or it has not been reported. And in the future, DO NOT ask me about sending ANYTHING. If I want it, I'll ask for it.
  11. quote: Originally posted by KreKol: It will not use the 1.0.01 save games. It says bad format and closes the game. Not a real big deal. I made a back up of the saved game before installed the new patch. So I will have it later if it is the new patch. I will just start a new game untill you tell me what I did wrong. You must have NOT been using the final 1.0.01 saved games. The 1.0.02 IS backward compatible. I know this for a fact because I didn't change the file format. At all.
  12. quote: Originally posted by Roberto: I havent noticed any comments in the VCF regarding the deployment of marines via a shuttle (as well as OC) Did you manage to catch the problem? Or is that on the bottom of your 'to do' list? If its not in the VCF its not a bug. And this is NOT a bug. If the shuttle doesn't land before the folks pile out, they will pile out of the craft. And at high alt, they will fall to the ground under gravity, take injury and possibly die. It is YOUR responsibility to ensure that this doesn't happen by Making sure the first person in the shuttle has a high AI You deploy the shuttle on flat ground You create the proper waypoint for it. If tweaking is required to prevent you misfits from making this mistake, I will look into it at another date. As of now, it works as designed and is not a bug by any account. If you don't know how to use the shuttle, use the transporter. Thats why you have both. If you try launching the shuttle, targeting it in Tacops (when it launches), then hitting the F10 cam view and following it down, you will see what its doing. You never thought of that, huh? 13. You can snag it here If you missed the PC Gamer Dec 2000 one, you can snag it here.
  14. quote: Originally posted by Urza: If I install that patch, do I just install the offical one too when it comes out? Yes
  15. OK, the patch is not ready yet because we're trying to catch and fix that elusive persistent damageFX bug. So, if you feel the need, you can grab it here (4.2 MB). Just remember that you use at your own risk as the testers have only had one night with it. This patch is NOT final, so it will not appear on the downloads page. Patches are incremental so there is no need to have 1.0.01 previously installed. So, if you feel the need to start from scratch with a new install, use this patch. Final 1.0.01 version save games are compatible. Beta 1.0.01 version save games are NOT.
  16. quote: Originally posted by Simparadox: Noooooo! What about the new patch!? hehe, I'll be around for the next three weeks. So, don't fret. The testers have the 1.0.02 patch already and I just uploaded another version to them. We are currently researching that persistent damagefx issue and I simply cannot release the patch without it. So far, its proving to be elusive to reproduce. I don't want to have to release another patch, so, this one has to go into this update. I have updated the VCF btw.
  17. I'll have Gallion add those acronyms to the appendix and I will include that in the upcoming 1.0.02 patch.
  18. Yeah, I agree its rulez...oh wait, I can't be partial!
  19. I got two words for you folks: multi-player The world and characters I build back in the late 80's and early 90's will continue until the dawn of time or until I decide to introduce new races and castes. BCO is a MMOG version of BCM in which each and every caste plays an important role in the game. Especially seemlingly harmless castes such as explorers, traders, colonists. Who, believe it or not are going to have more strategic power than ANY of the races on the server. Period. For one thing, unless you are one of those races, you can't own property. And they control all the stations, bases, cities etc. Chew on that. In fact, which reminds me, I need to update the BCO faq.

  22. quote: Originally posted by Skeletun: Uhhhhhh Ohh Ok What he said LOL!!!! Now you know how I feel. Man, just look at this thread. Over a shuttle!!! Are you guys bored? Go play IA0022
  23. OK, can we hang Ice Cold now? I have a headache.
  24. quote: Originally posted by Simparadox: Physics don't behave realistically in the BCM universe, so there's no reason to expect that a shuttle's engines aren't strong enough to pull a CC around at high speeds. Exactly. Well said.
