heh, JeffK has far too much time on his hands.

heh, yep. They're pissed because I refuse to be beat. As for the reviews, Akira, I didn't know you were in Hawaii. LOL!! You need to go and take a look at that impersonator. Parias, I didn't want that un-related crap being linked back here, so I killed your last post. Sorry.
-
Just ignore them. I like how they're falling over themselves already. Talk about pulling strings. It never ceases to amaze me just how much power I wield over my detractors. I mean, who else on this planet can command such a dedicated bunch who spend every waking moment, coming up with new and inventive methods of getting my attention and annoying me - to no avail. I particularly chuckled at the review from Peter Torken. Never been registered here. Doesn't even appear in our reg database, not even with an IP search (taken from the review), yet, he claims he was forced. That was too funny. Same as John Andersen. Seeing that neither fool is registered here, I don't see how my post asking real gamers to post their review, applies to them. Of course it doesn't - its just another pathetic spin that just gets funnier. And of course, deliquent Louis, posted twice, just in case we missed the first one. This is too funny. I feel like a puppet master to the detractors. Or better yet, head Lemming. Think they're pissed now? Just wait until BCM gets released. Nothing pisses off a detractor like progress and BC3K v2.0x was just the beginning. Just wait. If someone doesn't go to jail by the of the year, it'll be a miracle.

heh, that sounds like a typical engagement. You'll come to enjoy that even more in BCM when you see your guys actually running around, ducking for cover, going prone, throwing grenades etc. All AI controlled. All combat marines get AI based on engagement, so, it doesn't have to be a driver, because there is no such concept in the game (unlike fighters that have pilots). The APM prefix in Radix missiles, stands for All Purpose Missile, so yes, they are Surface To Air or Surface To Surface capable. You should've sent in another ATV and perhaps dropped a few marines there. They would have flattened the place. In the future, always watch for the unit that is spewing out fighters, and take those out first. If you have fighters in the air, your troops will have a harder time achieving their objectives, let alone getting out alive. Also, in BCM, the turrets on the ATV are on an independent control mechanism, so, the ATV doesn't have to face the direction of fire. So, it could be fleeing forward and have the turret facing the rear and firing. Or, if you happen to drop a par of Humvees down there, one guy could be driving in one direction and having the other guy in the back, firing the mounted gun. You ain't seen nuthin' yet my friend. Just wait.

LOL, these guys will stop at nothing. Did you guys read the review from some so-called Susan? That was too funny.

OK, the Usual Suspects are it again. Those of you familiar with the on-going flamewar, will recognize the familiar traits from Louis (the kid whose dossier you will find at www.3000ad.com/temp/louisJM.zip) Allan Parent, ryu-dog and co, spiking the reviews charts at the link below, with bogus reviews. I have since spoken to the CEO of Consumer Review (the owners of pcjr.com) and they have a policy of weeding out bogus reviews etc. They are looking into the matter. On the matter of Lisa's email being posted on a public forum, it will be removed and that issue is now closed. So, since you're all bored waiting for BCM, go to the link below and post your honest reviews of your gaming experiences with and prevent those bozos from spiking the charts with bogus information. Am going to be reading them, so any over-the-top reviews from anyone and you're likely to get a spanking. And those who don't post? Well, lets just say, I'm know who you are. http://www.pcgr.com/reviews/classic_simula...10.asp?RVNum=-1 [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 07-25-2000).]

Andy has contacted me and apologized for his mistakes. As I said to him, I'm not particularly angry that he ripped my stuff. I was angry because he didn't ask my permission, nor did he give any credit for the work (the site itself seems to claim that its his own stuff, which is false) or even mention the game (though on ICQ, he said he owns a copy). There are over 28 BC3K websites on the webring and they use my stuff. I didn't go after them. Why? Because they have my permission to use any material they wish. Further, its not like he even used my stuff for promoting or supporting the game. There is no mention of BC3K on the site. And the ST universe doesn't even support my premise. Anyway, I'm going to send him email with what to do and that'll be the end of that I think. btw, he also apologizes for his friend, who has been trying to stiffle this uprising. So, lets all calm down, shall we?

I got 2 in from ATI today. The regular one and one with the DVI interface. Haven't even opened the box yet.

Yeah, it'd be even funnier if you posted the link. [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 07-24-2000).]

This fool is confusing trademarks with copyrights. Since he thinks he knows so much about intellectual property, lets see how he likes his entire site taken down. The disregard for other people's property is exactly why governments are trying hard to police the Internet. And its people like this who are the cause. He obviously has the manual and knows about the game. I have an archived copy of his site and you can easily, apart from the GALCOM usage, see that he even based his mission statement from my own. And the cheeky git wants to challenge me? I like a good challenge, but I usually warn people first. I'm giving him 24 hrs to remove any and all such infringements from his site or not only will have that site taken down, if I have to turn it over to my attorney, who will then obtain his information from his ISP, he will be liable for the legal expense - because once the ISP takes the site down, it means that the information did infringe. I think he needs to read the TOC of his ISP carefully. That is all I have to say about the matter.

Fair enough.

Gallion is right. You have to either get updated VESA drivers for it, or use the Sci-Tech Display Doctor, the add /vi in the BC3K.BAT file to run the game.
-
This was just brought to my attention. Does anyone know who this fool is? Its the weekend but by next week, if he doesn't remove that crap from his site, he'll be in for a world of hurt. Imagine that cheeky sod, not only using GALCOM, but blatantly ripping parts of the charter, using Centris etc http://scout.to/GC

It would help if you provided your system specs. If you have an Intel based video card, that could be the problem. Read the FAQ

heh, actually he got the snub before the interview was completed and signed-off. Nothing to do with his work on interview - lest some get the wrong impression. Besides, if that was the case, Avault wouldn't have run it. When Kareem left, Brian Clair, the EIC, took it on and over several days, we modified and cleaned it up a bit, then he ran it. In fact, I almost pulled it because I was concerned that Kareem wouldn't get credit for it - but Brian assured me that he would, so, I gave him the go ahead to run it.

Yes, I agree that X-Men is the best super-hero movie made....if you don't take Blade into account, what other super-hero movies of late, are worth mentioning? None. btw, I like MI2
-
As a fan of the X-Men, I give this one a 5/10 and only because of Hugh Jackman playing Wolverine. Unless you're really dying to see it, ask someone who has seen the first 60 mins, to explain it to you, then go see the last 30 mins or so to the end.

Sounds like the refresh rate for your V5 and your monitor are out of whack. I say this because the Restore screen causes a screen change to 2D. What happens if you run CONFIG from the bridge?
-
Fixed the FAQ bug Vorpal, can you play a Restored game? I think thats what Gallion is talking about.

Klingon Academy/Terminus first looks
Supreme Cmdr replied to Parias's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
Milod makes a good point. Parias, please explain! One thing I do not want and which is already happening, is people thinking that because you come here, that your review of Terminus was biased. Thats not very good and I frown at the notion. I just want to say that Parias is a welcome member of this community, but his views are entirely his own and do not reflect those of others here who have not acknowledged same. I for one think that Terminus doesn't go anywhere. X:BTF is a better product and will probably get better with Xtension. Terminus is not for everyone and like every niche title, will have its own fans. Even some of my own beta testers can't stand it, while 1 or 2, like parts of it. Nothing wrong with that. I hated it because it doesn't do anything that I have'nt seen before, done better elsewhere. That is all. -
OK, I guess the 99 bugs I was supposed to be fixing tomorrow, are on the back burner.

Justin says it would be a good idea to get the Access database going, this way, when he's done, he can just import the data without everyone jamming the site to try and register the first time. So, carry on. He should be finished within two weeks. So, in two weeks, send me the database and I'll pass it on to Justin.
