  1. I guess this means no blood in BCM first person mode, then? Oh well, am off to disable the blood particles
  2. FAQ looks fine here. As for Gallion, I've been waiting for him to get back to me. It works fine on my end and other people who contacted the tech support line say it works too. Which is why I added it to the FAQ.
  3. I have to do it manually by editing the user profile on the server. Not for the feint at heart
  4. I'll change it tonite. Please don't re-register.
  5. Justin, the 3000AD web dude, has started working on the fleet database.
  6. Happy Birthday Phish!!!
  7. uhm guys, did you notice she said that she was having crashes? Rather than trying to recruit here (even though she has clearly made a choice), why don't you guys find out what her system specs are, settings etc, and see if we can eliminate those crashes?
  8. Yep, I asked them to
  9. Well, shortly after I left the Terminus board last night, I got hit with a 500+ message mailbomb. Below is one of them, complete with header info, which I've sent to pobox.com and the FBI section that deals with that sort of thing. The idiot didn't realize that I do a mail scan on my server first, before downloading my mail. So when I saw 586 messages on there, alarm bells went off. So, I did a header search, grabbed the important emails and one of the mailbombs and just deleted everything on the server. Nice folks, huh? quote: Return-Path: Received: from growl.pobox.com ([208.210.124.27]) by runyon.mail.mindspring.net (Mindspring Mail Service) with ESMTP id smibft.j9n.37kbi7f for ; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:59:25 -0400 (EDT) Received: by growl.pobox.com (Postfix, from userid 18) id 38DF0105DA; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:59:24 -0400 (EDT) Received: from smtp1.san.rr.com (smtp1.san.rr.com [24.25.195.37]) by growl.pobox.com (Postfix) with ESMTP id AD60D10527 for ; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:59:22 -0400 (EDT) Received: from ntp.usdhs.org ([204.210.45.250]) by smtp1.san.rr.com (Post.Office MTA v3.5.3 release 223 ID# 0-0U10L2S100V35) with ESMTP id com for ; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 18:59:33 -0700 Received: from ntp.san.rr.com (NTP.usdhs.org [172.16.0.2]) by ntp.usdhs.org (Post.Office MTA v3.5.2 release 221 ID# 35-64939U200L2S100V35) with SMTP id org; Sun, 9 Jul 2000 19:02:39 -0700 Received: from 38.30.237.234 by ntp.san.rr.com (InterScan E-Mail VirusWall NT); Sun, 09 Jul 2000 19:02:36 -0800 Reply-To: [email protected] From: "Derek Smart" To: "Derek Smart" Cc: [email protected] Subject: BC3000 Is The Greatest Game! 10. Excellent post Whisper quote: And, also gleaned from my observations, this is because the BC3K board has sensoring on the order of millitary dictatorships. Folks are banned or suspended with what seems like wild abandon, while other boards are much more, democratic, in what they let folks say. Yep, thats us! Military Dictators! No, seriously, you have a point. We don't want it to break into outright hostilities (heh, kinda late for that methinks so, I think its over with. I should've known better, but I just never have been able to sit idly by while some pussfaced punk trashes my life's work with nary a hint of factual data.
  11. Check the memory settings and tweak according to the FAQ Make sure the SAVE folder actually exists Check your mouse driver I would suggest that you uninstall and reinstall from scratch. For one thing, those patches are not DOS apps, so, I don't know how you got a DOS window when patching from 2.0 to 2.08.
  12. I couldn't help myself, though I tried real hard. I'll do penance. http://www.stationterminus.com/cgi-bin/ubb...=240&startat=31
  13. Let me know what that site's finished and I'll add to the links page on the website. Also, you may want to contact the keeper of the webring and add your site to it. To see the BC3K webring, go to the main www.3000ad.com page.
  14. I have updated the troubleshooting FAQ with tips on getting the Voodoo5 card to work properly.
  15. OK, when someone sent me this link, I must admit, I was tempted to post, but, I'll leave it up to Parias. That idiot, MohamedX's post are littered with some many inconsistencies, that its clearly obvious he's just spewing garbage. http://www.stationterminus.com/cgi-bin/ubb...n=240&fs=1&dp=5
  16. LOL!! gimmick infringement
  17. When its ready
  18. LOL! you guys are cruel. Warsong, just ignore them and stay with the default GCV. At least you'll get kicked out with much fanfare. And if you do get kicked out which has you adoption the UCV designation, you can be as much of a pain as you want.
  19. You can't. You should've bought a Voodoo3 for the same price.
  20. Yep, it works now. It didn't earlier. Anyway, I haven't heard from him since that proto and I don't have a clue what the deal it.
  21. I found something over at ubbhackers.com. I'll check them both out. Thanks! Update: I went with your suggestion because it was the easiest to implement. Anyway, the poll script is up on GNN. Go vote! [This message has been edited by Supreme Cmdr (edited 07-01-2000).]
  22. Anyone know where I can find a user poll script?
  23. This is the kind of thing that really bakes my cookies. Why is that every time someone volunteers to do something, they never come through? And I then have to pick up the pieces? OK, its fine to volunteer but don't volunteer if you can't deliver!!! Back on 5-30, I got this URL as the protoype for this fleet database. A few days later, the link was dead. I've sent John several emails, and they've all been unanswered. Here we are July, still no word. So, since I don't have extra money lying around to pay someone to do it, I guess there won't be a fleet database after all, until after the game has started shipping and I've got disposal revenue for stuff like this. The next person to volunteer to do something and doesn't come thru, will get banished for life. Thats that. quote: I've made a detailed design proposal document which is at this url: http://www.3050ad.co.uk/misc/fleet_database_proposal.html I would have had this to you sooner but I've been very busy with work lately, things have only just quietened down. If you give me the go ahead I'll proceed with this and try to have a working version ready by end of this week.
  24. Interplay mastered 2.0 units in '98 and 2.07 units in '99. They also mastered some 2.08 units this year.
  25. ...and the rings in the TACSCAN, indicates that the entity is doing an active radar or AI search. To filter out all the active pings, go into STT mode. And yes, in BCM, active/passive radar types have been revised considerably. If you're active pinging, others can see you (if within range). If you're passive, they can't see you, you can't see anyone, unless within visual range or if you bump into each other. Also, like cloaking, launching weapons or crafts will create an active radar ping which they can use to pinpoint your last known location.
