  1. Everyone's waiting for the next patch, I think...

  4. At last, my (preordered) copy arrived yesterday morning. I ordered at amazon.de. It has a German translated manual inside, and the map is on the inside of the DVD like cover. Btw., I like those new, "small" boxes. They are easy to pack, and this particular one makes a very professional impression. They, Dreamcather, did a nice job here IMHO... Best regards
  5. Visions, eh? Hmm, reminds me of a joke... "I keep seeing spots in front of my eyes." "Did you ever see a doctor?" "No, just spots."
  6. Welcome, Cadet! quote: Originally posted by William McBroom: How does a person join a fleet? Is it invitation only or can a person join just by asking? And if so who does a person ask? Commander Nova from Orion Fleet "made a HUGE file for newbies a LONG time ago (like a year and a half) that should suit your information needs right now. (Not much has changed recently.) See here. Download links may be invalid in there, but hey, that's what you get for not updating a file since November 2001. And yes, FleetDB is off-line. The fleet organisation information shouldn't be too far off from current data." (Quoted from his post over here.) Best regards
  7. jascatar, Make sure you post the pre-requisite copyright info you see posted on other user BC sites! I wonder if a one-to-one translation makes sense here. Area 51 (for example) is for the Beta testing program, and there will hardly ever be any discussion outside this Board. That would be a serious breach of the NDA. Best regards
  8. No wishlists, please! This is one sure way to the airlock... Play the game as it is. If you like it, keep playing. If not, return it, or code your own. 9. Welcome, Commander! Please adjust your signature. And your "system profile" link does not work (yet). Papi, you also need to set that link. Best regards

  11. Yes, I need (at least) five guinea p... erm, volunteers! You, you, and you! *points*
  12. John, did you read the article "How to add your system profile to your forum sig"? Did you follow Step 1 and Register your copy? You must follow these instructions to the letter! We do not want to read your system specs in the Interests entry of your forum profile. That's (a) the wrong place, and ( the information you provided is incomplete! Still waiting...
  13. John, you are living on dangerous ground! Stick to the rules that Tyrn already took the effort to point out: Read This First! How to add your system profile to your forum sig Last warning! [ 06-02-2003, 03:50 AM: Message edited by: Gudihl ]
  14. Silk, this is a tough question. Mostly depends on how much money you can spare... The best digital camera one can buy at the moment may be the Canon EOS 1Ds, around 10,000 USD. 11 megapixel, full size. More affordable may be the FUJIFILM F601 Zoom with 3.1 megapixel, and 3x optical zoom. That is the one I bought a few weeks ago for about 350 USD, and which I really can recommend. I cannot give any hints for digital camcorders. Best regards.
  15. quote: Originally posted by Emmett.hendrick: LOL. Well I still don't consider myself a Vet here but I do get the feel good feeling when I am able to help one of the fresher players by imparting some of the knowledge I have gained from the rest of you guys Well, it goes like this: one day, you buy a game (The Game, as we called it then), find this forum (or it's predecessor, to be overly correct), and get a warm welcome as a newbie. A few days later, say around six and a half years, you wake up some nice morning, visit the Same Old Forum (now it's predecessor's successor) and think to yourself: Okay - I must be a vet now... So - welcome newbies! Make yourself a home here, keep in line, and enjoy the next six and a half years, or so. You'll do just fine... Best regards!
  16. IMHO better than the first one. Definitely worth to see.
  17. Heh, I fell for that advertising with Jo sitting on that bar chair, I think... Went to my local dealer, and bought the game for then 109 DEM, that was about USD 70,- IIRC. That was in November 1996. Found out about the forum around January 1997. Wrote some Mini Walkthrough, and that left me with the nimbus of being some "expert"... Well, I fondly remember those times! Derek, please keep on the good work... Best regards
  18. Happy Birthday, Derek!
  19. Jaguar, this is supposed to be a Quotation War™! Please refrain from answering directly...
  20. Please keep on topic. The topic in this thread is: Prime Fleet Chatroom. It's about IRC, not about Chit Chat... Use the Pinboard for general Prime Fleet chatter. Best regards.
  21. Not at all. In two days, we start the (in)famous February Fleet Roll Call...
  22. lol
  23. Best wishes, and get well soon!
