you might wanna check out ATI radeon cards. I have the radeon9000 and it rocks. I got it for only $115. Has 128mb ddr ram pixel shadding the works. The only thing this card skimps on is the rendering piplines. However the game play for BCMG, UT2k3, jk2 and Morrowind is great. They now have the radeon9200 with 4 pipelines for around the same price that the 9000 series went for. These cards don't even come close to those 200-400 buck cards but damn if I can pay 100-150 and get great gameplay and visuals none-the-less hell I say why not.

Okay students todays discussion will be about surface weapons. The ground weapons in BCMG are more or less standard fair nothing we haven't seen before (don't get me wrong it's not a complaint but an observation). What we need is uniqueness. Imagine a game that would let you research and actually build and create your own weapon just from an idea you hatched one day. Or just making these weapons on the fly without researching them. Wouldn't that be cool. Let me give you an example of what I mean: Imagine one day you are on a the surface of a planet with some nasty and aggresive locals and the fight is grueling. You depleted all your ammo what do you. Most cases you pick up rocks and start hurling them at the enemy. Not impressive at all. In fact, the only deaths that would occur from that is your enemy dying of laughter! Wouldn't it be nice to add some horse power to that rock throw. Imagine being able to make this weapon outa pipes and debris from that blasted land vehicle you just came across and being able to use anything as ammo. It would be a ground marines dream.... Man, I only wish I had that kinda talent to be exploited that way!!! Exploit me all ya want mom and dad fill that college fund right up fill that trust fund up so fat I never have to work a day in my life so I can play games all day in the mansion I would live in with my so called basement that's really an arcade and right next to that my own personal IMAX theater... Damn rotten talent of mine. I'd be lucky if I could bum a penny from someone.

Hmmmmm, if you guys like the high learning curve of the BCMG and all the nuts and bolts managment you might wanna try (if you haven't already) Sub Command from EA. It's a nuclear sub sim right down to it's dive plane. This is a game for the hard core sim fan. Ea had the guts to go with this title so my hat off to them for that as well as to Dreamcatcher for picking up on BCMG. I do own a copy of the Sub game and I like it. http://www.gamespot.com/pc/sim/subcommand/index.html 8.4 outa 10. It may not be outer space sim but it's an Inner space one it may not be as ampitious as BSMG but it's a great sim never the less. Disclaimer: I'm not an employee of any game company. Whoa!!! I may be mad but I'm not insane! Have you ever seen what's inside those Galcom issued ketchup packets. Let me tell you..... They spend so much money on ships and crew they have very little money left over to afford us space cadets the luxury of quality condinments. Actually, in the sci-fi world Shields are only protection for energy weapons if you need protection from that all pesty debris you need Deflectors. Deflectors also prevent your ship from careening into another. Unless all craft are piloted by AI and computers, then a human must be able to make decisions in a human response time or the whole craft is going too fast and is quite useless. Just my 2 cents

The Misadventures of A Mad BattleCruiser Commander, Commanders log Stardate Umm. Umm. Ah who cares. Spent hours training for my space career and got my diploma and Command promotion. I decided to become a Commander of a Heavy Cruiser. Embarked to Earth orbit to take command of my spiffy new ship. Took a few minutes, while still in Earth orbit, to get to know my crew and ship. The first thing that struck me was that the whole crew was speaking in an inane mumble. After getting use to my new command an idea occurred to me, Hey I can go visit my friends on Earth and show them my brand new big toy. Cool, I said to myself. So I blurb on the ships intercom that we are taking her down to Earth. So I target the Earth and gave the command GO FOR IT. Ive heard tales of what planetfall was like and wanted to be prepared so I headed for the ships food court and got myself a few sticks and some wieners and ran to nearest docking port. My first officers voice rang over the ships intercom Were entering planetfall. With that announcement, I opened the docking port door. What a sight! Such a fire! A campers dream! I quickly put the wiener on a stick and stuck it out the port. Pulled the stick back after a minute and there was nothing left just half a stick. Oh god, time was running out and I was now very hungry. So I quickly placed another wiener on a stick but this time I would be slick and pull it back immediately. It worked! A wonderful open fire roasted wiener. Let me tell you that was the tastiest hot dog I ever ate. I closed the port door and headed for my quarters to take care of a little business. While I was there, I just happened to look at a mirror. EGADS! My hair! It was standing straight up and was highly singed hey you know what this reminds me of I said to myself Don King!!! Cant be seen on the bridge like this and still maintain any respect with my crew so I went to the medilab and had them fix me straight up. With my hair taken care of, I headed back to the bridge. We were somewhere off the West Coast and the ship was slowly descending. Right below us was a couple of nice looking islands. Hmmm, Hawaii I thought to myself. Hmmm, I wonder. I wonder if my old girlfriend still hangs out in that Tikki bar where we first met. Yeah, lets stop off there first Ill show her the big gun I have now. If I couldnt impress her before I certainly will now. Two meters off the ground and speed 1mps. Slowly.. Slowly.. Ease up. Kerplunk! Malfunction, Malfunction.. All systems down. Crap we crashed! Funny, all while this was going on my bridge crew is still speaking in that low inane mumble! My bridge crew just glared at me and still uttering that inane mumble. So, I said, its not my fault the ship designers didnt give this garbage scow landing gears! So I did the only thing a Commander could do in a situation like this I ordered Shore Leave! Every one hit the beaches. I loaded everyone into a shuttle and sent them on their way. Being the commander I must be the last one to leave the ship. But I decided not to take a shuttle and headed out a docking port. I wanted to plant my feet on some solid terra firma. Boy was I in for a surprise. As it Turned out this wasnt terra firma. Just one big bog! No tikki bar, no coconut rum, no island girls, no fun in the sun! Well I had two choices swim or jetpack back to the ship. I chose the jetpack and landed back onto my ship. I visually searched the bog island but my crew was nowhere to be seen. I guess they did the smart thing and headed for the continent but they left me high and dry with my now useless ship. Okay, everyone should not get their knickers in a bunch over this. It happens to the best. Just remember all the Artists that have been waylayed by bad reviews from Playwriters, Painters to Movie makers. They've all been thru this same ordeal. Ya just take it in stride and hold onto to the good reviews and take solice in your fan base and to keep at it to show these guys up! Anyway, I think I found out what this guy's real problem is and I quote "This was supposed to be a quick game, and let me tell you it was because I turned it off promptly after that." He must be one of those pheen console gamers that play games for hours and finish them that fast. God this guy better not even attempt to play Elder Scrolls 3:Morrowind. I've been playing that game for months now and am no where near getting to the end of it. I don't know where on earth this guy got the idea it was suppose to be a quick game. One of the many reasons I purchased this game is that it was the opposite. One thing good is that I doubt he will be the next generation NASA astronaut. Can you imagine this guy trying the pilot a Nasa Space shuttle he'd turn that off and walk away in disgust too. Anyway at least he was wordy with his review check this guys review. You might wanna check out the Saitek X45 usb. I have it and it rocks. Got buttons coming outa my A.. now. It's also very simple to install and it's very stable. I love it. Goes for just $80.

In it's day and age the amiga was the gaming computer with it's graphics while the pc still had it's CGA adapter 3 colors for a computer monitor and if you were lucky to have one with a TV out you would get 16 glorious colors. .
