  1. Jayball, Welcome to the EarthCom branch of the Prime Fleet Academy. Here are your in-processing instructions: [*]Go to the Prime Fleet Academy webpage and download the cadet syllabus ... you should find it in the upper left window ... if necessary, scroll down until you see it. If you like, you can also download the Dash-1 checklist. Be advised that both the syllabus and checklist were designed for Universal Combat and, therefore, some information might be out of date. [*]Read through the material and make sure you understand it. If there's anything you don't understand (such as differences between UC and AWA), either post your question here or send me a PM. If I don't know the answer, I'll find someone who does. [*]Complete each of the training assignments, one at a time, in sequence. [*]After you've completed an assignment, zip it and send it to: [email protected] [*]The results of each mission will be posted here. Good luck, cadet. Enjoy your time in space.

  3. Microphones have been a staple in MP for many a year. In this respect, 3000AD is no different. Since the chat window is closed during fleet matches, the only means of communication is via TeamSpeak. If you do not have a mike, you can only hear and obey. If you cannot obey (for any reason, including a garbled transmission) life will thereafter be hell. Or something reasonably close to it.
  4. Be my guest. I'm going "on leave" for a week, starting tomorrow (Saturday), anyway.
  5. Then you might want to wait since I'll be "on leave" all next week anyway.
  6. Check the pinboard sticky for my reply.

It is then up to your own FL to decide how to go about upgrading you to MP.

  10. quote:From Firestar: I am ready to start the Training Mission 1 if i can do it using a single-player mission.Quick, while the EarthCom website still exits, go read the section on MP training. In it you will discover ... btw, it's at the same link as my previous post in this thread ... you will discover that, at Prime Fleet, those who complete their training is SP are assigned to the role-playing (Beta) wing. I suspect that the EarthCom FL would probably want to do the same. quote:By Remo: Yes I understand this Chief, but the EarthCom Forum will no longer be used soon is why I wanted it tranfered here. Thanks, Remo. I just wanted it in black and white ... er, white and blue. I'll set up a thread for each of the cadets here, in the 3000AD forum ... and go from there.
  11. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: Marvin if you don't have the time to run EarthCom cadet training just let me know and I will do it until I can find a replacement. This cadet training thread has been at EarthCom quite awhile, Remo. Long, long before last Sunday. Maybe we should have an IQ exam linked from the database. 12. quote:Originally posted by firestar: Ok, I would like to know just ... how do we begin our Fleet Academy Training?Sign up at the EarthCom forum and check in here. I'm surprised you guys have been thrashing around so long.
  13. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: Excuce me, but what are you talking about Marvin? My mistake ... as Denny pointed out elsewhere. It should be illegal for two guys to share the same initials.
  14. Ah, yes. Loose lips sink ships.
  15. Yeah, I finally checked over my old tests and realized the person I was looking for was my illustrious instructor: Cmdr. Jorus C'baoth So I'm in the dog house and you're back to Academy training, mission number one.
  16. Ben, are you sure you don't work for EuroDisney? quote:So, you can get your earthen-oven-baked mushroom and artichoke Calzone after all, and free to boot Nice intel, there. And not a bad memory, either. Or is that in my ISS dossier?
  17. quote:Originally posted by LB: ...ready for training Oh yeah ... right. As it so happens, you taught your "instructor" just about everything he knows. I guess the old saying is true: "What goes around, comes around."
  18. quote:Originally posted by LB: Oh, and by the way Remo, I am not a newbie, If you remember i used to serve in your fleet. Hey, that's my old instructor!
  19. Okay, maybe it's like a Trojan horse ... to use against the Insurgents. Only, if you plan to slip into Chavik's group, it would be, maybe ... a gigantic Trojan tractor?
  20. quote:Originally posted by Remo Williams: Marvin before you make any revision to the PHQ charter besides what I stated above I want to see it .... How could I do otherwise?
  21. It's a sailboat. And, after it's done, you won't be able to get it out the door.
  22. Why, oh why did I not send this Charter to a professional proofreader first!!?? Especially when I knew one of 'em (Ben) would be lurking in the hallway. Anyway, thanks Ben. Send me a list of corrections and I'll take a look. Be advised, though, that some of the things you pointed out are about how the 3000AD universe looks now. Whereas, a lot of the Charter is historical. Besides, even if we at Prime keep our charter as is, there's no reason why you can't do one up for ISS that reflects your own version of history.

  24. Sounds like somebody is building Deep Thought II.
