Neato. The generally newspaper published speed of light is 186,000 miles per second. (From school texts I think it's closer to 186,252) Sixty seconds make a minute so 186,000 times 60 = 11,160,000 miles per minute. Sixty minutes make an hour so 11,160,000 times 60 = 669,600,000 miles per hour for the speed of light. 1.5 million miles an hour sounds huge doesn't it? Divide the calculated 669,600,000 mph of the speed of light into the 1,500,000 mph of the velocity of the star and you find that for this very rough calculation the star is travelling at .002240 or .224% the speed of light. If you use the 20 million mph figure (I'm assuming it was the orbit velocity) it looks like the star was travelling at .02986 (2.9% , 3% if you round up) the speed of light to break orbit of the galaxy. Astounding. I wonder what other things they are calculating with their figures.

I like it because it is campy and fun. The darker side is that it is set in a post apocolyptic Earth world war between China and the US. Which is why there are so many Chinese references in it, especially language. But generally it is the story of one man on the losing side of a civil war ( I still don't get if it's the main war I just mentioned above) who is now free and runs around on the outskirts of authority.

Need a Trekker in here to refresh us on Warp Speed. Isn't it an exponetial curve to a multiplier of the speed of light? I didn't quite catch the finally to the Expanse/doomsday weapon but felt it was picking up with the T'pau/Trip story.

You could try going to tacops, click Earth, Observe, zoom down a couple levels (I would suggest clicking a base or city region so you can get a feel for the zoom level), right click the mouse and hold, tilt the map, then pan around to see if you can locate the TTD of the drone.

Another msnbc article with some figures. I can almost see their point about cost effectiveness but how does one measure the cost of something versus the price of not learning? The White House has changed its mind and removed funding for a Hubble repair mission. The article also puts forth that it could be just a ploy for the budget fight.

There are two matches that need to be added the best I can remember. I am bitter at myself about my loss to Ben in the championship. Same connection as me. Comparable computer to me. Read up on those rechargable batteries. They need conditioned to get the proper use out of them. Very occasional use has brought my 2 year old 14.4 Ryobi set down to a three day charge life in the batteries. The local Batteries Plus charges $60 to rebuild them (replace the cells) which is about the same as a replacement set. At least Batteries Plus should recycle them. Perhaps the flashlight would come in handy on your job and keep the batteries in good condition. I got a Tractor cover which I really needed. A shirt, sweater, and a bright orange air hose (plus the fittings) for my compressor. My brother gave me an official dartboard. I went ahead and threw the air hose and sweater pic on the tractor page. No laughing at the junk room or the hat hair.

You can have a "friendly" assassin. He may try to kill you though.

I think "leet" as in elite. I liked that Matrix thing with the Neo Bullet scene.
