November. I hid out on Halloween and went to see a movie instead. Our second severe weather season is starting. Interesting factoid they had on the news the other night. The Southeastern United States in the only region in the world with two distinct severe weather seasons. Dunno how true that is but it was on TV . You still breathing out there Finder1? Bought new tires this morning. $303 and some pennies. Ughh. On top of renewing my insurance this week also $300 and change. Ouch. Whimper whimper. Oh well such is life. Have a good one all.

October Balor Fleet Reactor Core Chat
Charles Lindsey replied to Charles Lindsey's topic in Insurgent Fleets
Will make new chat after this one. The Amazing Race. Re-read the whole thread. As with Funniest home Videos or Survivor, and other shows I guess, you make an audition tape and send it in. You could also do this for The Race. That's what my friend Joyce did. I however went to an open audition and the local TV affiliate recorded all the auditions on a single tape in a row. So I am worried they would pay more attention to her single audition tape and I would be lost in the crowd. quote:I get the feeling black and white people don't mix much where you are from. here it is natural.Yes it's embarrasssing. There are still a lot of prejudices hanging around. Things are better though. Hopefully in a generation or four most of the prejudice will disappear. Hopefully I haven't stuck my foot in my mouth. But as we were talking I was explaining that I had tried everyone. Charles didn't think his wife would let him go. I couldn't find the other guy I was thinking of. I didn't even know she liked the show and we both thought that having a black white couple would have been an extra hook to get us attention. As I said earlier we both had a grand time talking about teaming up. Maybe both us us make it and we form an alliance. We talked about the stunts we would and would not do. Cruis.dread????? -

Oh be nice Cruis.in . Least we know he's breathing. Good to see you dreadx! Lessee, we got our own dreadx. Then prime (I think) has Dreada. I think there is a plain old dredd running around and I seem to remember a judgedredd. We are just simply going to have to have a moratorium on dredd names. Ya'll ain't gonna beleive this. I was talking to my friend Charles (yes, there are six of us) at work and told him about my application to The Amazing Race. He talked to one of the women at work and suddenly she comes storming into my office blessing me out. She had also applied. Small world ain't it? We had a grand time talking about if we had applied together. They have never had a black/white team before. But she had made her own tape with her daughter whilst I went to a public audition. Of course they are going to pay attention to a homemade tape more because it shows more interest. They (the show) are supposed to contact us late October (ummm ) or early November for the second try outs. I figure seven more days maybe and if I don't hear anything I busted. Other news? Yard work. Waitng on a home center sale so I can plant some winter pansies. -
Simple little story but very good and the music was wonderful. No special effects that require the big screen but I would suggest seeing it in the theatre for the sound system. Nothing like a good gospel choir belting out an upbeat spiritual to get you moving. Cuba got some moves too. Movie 9/10 Music 12/10

At one point Derek was contemplating removing the ability of the CC to enter planetary atmospheres. Caused quite a ruckus it did. We cried, begged, pleaded, gnashed teeth, rent clothes, and basically whined it back in. So instead of disabling something that already worked I think Derek left it in just so he wouldn't have to hear about it.

DirectTv V. Smart Card technology purchasers.
Charles Lindsey replied to LostInSpace's topic in Science, Technology & Health
No other takers? Mine was an admittedly sarcastic and simplistic response. http://www.directvdefense.org/index.shtml An interesting site. I'm assuming you'd need some sort of dish to intercept the signal whether it be an old dish that's been unsubscribed or a full sized dish? If so I"m out. I don't even have cable. -

Charles Lindsey replied to dbhankins's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Let $ilk check his version but I have the retail 2.0. As in the 1.0x thread I would have to figure out how to burn it but I could send it you when I do. Since it is now freeware I see no problem with copying the retail cd. -
Help: Locating BC3000AD v1.0x
Charles Lindsey replied to dbhankins's topic in Battlecruiser 3000AD (Legacy)
Well guess what I found? My BC3K version 1.08a on a sony cd recordable that I bought directly from Derek back in the day. Got his hand writing on it and everything. I'd have to install the copying software that came with the cd burner I have and bum a cd-r from a friend but maybe I could burn a copy and send it to you. -

On second thought the freeware version was suppposed to have disk check disabled so you shouldn't have to mess wtih that. -

Try this old thread. Last post. Apollo got it working and he outlines the steps very briefly. I think the main thing is to get it to not ask for the disk. If you had the CD version you could copy the "cd1.id" (I think that was the name) file to the main directory and get past the disk check. -

Nothing yet. Sigh. Not even a rejection letter. Urgghhh. I hate roommates that don't clean. Then you don't clean to show how sloppy they are. Then they get mad and clean the place spotless and say they'll never do it again. Then you keep it clean for a couple days and they start messing it up again. and I hate people with no sense of time. "A little bit" means two hours at least. "After a while" usually means all day. Heaven forbid they say see ya later. hehe -
Yeah well you liked it so much I decided I couldn't trash it that bad. Honestly, on reflection, it wasn't terrible; it was just very straight forward . I like a little bit of a guessing game. Just not brain twisting guessing. It would be a good rental. It starts out very slowly and stays slow. The bad guy insinuates himself into the family and helps tremendously without being creepy. You can't have a non creepy bad guy . The only part I "got" ( as in setting up for future reference) was when Dennis Quaid visited the daddy in the nursing home. Well it had already been stated the daddy was a SOB so when the daddy thought Dennis Quaid was his son and cussed him (the son/ bad guy) it just made the son/bad guy seem pathetic. Which just set up the bar disaggreement as more sour grapes and pathetic hanging on to the property son. It wasn't till the horse died that my eyebrows raised. Very straightforward and predictable.

Well phooey, I got caught not checking. Apologies. I didn't like it as much. 7/10

quote:Ok SC, explain "boiling snow" please. Will I do? Boiling also means turbulent or violent. It "looks" wrong when applied to snow because most people associate it with water but it really is correct even if it looks a bit weird. Ever heard of boiling mad or boiling angry? (AOL's Webster entry for adjective form) quote:Main Entry: [1]boil┬Àing Pronunciation: 'boi-li[ng] Function: adjective Date: 14th century 1 a : heated to the boiling point b : TORRID (a boiling sun) 2 : intensely agitated (a boiling sea) (boiling with anger)

No WeeGee. The Amazing Race is a reality show. Go find that old thread "What I'm watching/Taping" (something like that). It's a race around the world where you travel to different locations and find clue for your next destination. You have to perform stunts along the way to get your next clue. They almost always have a bungee jump (My biggest fear) but last year they also had it where you raced a formula one race car, dune buggys, swap eels to a different tank, and scuba dive with sharks in a municipal aquarium. It's my favorite show because unlike other shows you don't have to be tall, strong, or pretty to compete. I've gone through hope, excitement, dissapointment, and despair in just two days. While we were there reading the rules one couple was doing the on camera interview and they had backpacks full of tissue, flashlights, and almost any other travel thing you could think of. They had to have been a hit with whomever decides these things. Meanwhile I realized I dominated our interview. My poor old mother barely said a word. And I probably said all the wrong things. But to make a long story short (too late) I would be a contestant on a reality show and wouldn't be doing actual acting. -
One of my friends brought me his DVD and practically held a gun to my head demanding I watch it. He threatened to infest my armpits with fleas, shave my private hairs and poor alcohol on the stubble, and hate me forever if I didn't watch it. After it lay on my coffee table for two weeks I finally broke down and watched it. I hate to say it but I enjoyed this movie and am actually looking forward to the next one.

Today I went to the mall. They were having an open casting call for an audition to The Amazing Race. My mother and I signed up as a team. After filling out this horrendously long questionarre we did the video taped interview. Here's hoping!! -
October is here! The days are getting shorter and cooler and it's time for the ghosts and goblins to come a creeping. I love Halloween. It's my favorite time. In high school I was in band and we ran a Haunted House for a fundraiser. I wore a cape with a hood and put glow makeup around my eyes. I called myself Fantasia. I scared the stew out of a ton of people. Hope everyone's school and/or work is going well. I did month end reports yesterday. Uggh on building them but the numbers look pretty good.

Yeah but does it come with the Universal Translator? Or is that an option?
