quote:aggressor27 [EDIT] Crap, when/how did that happen? Maybe I am drunk. Where can I find that original link about putting it back on there right. I looked through every forum and can't remember where it is.Ummmm, here? At the top, smack dab in the middle. Or this thread where the previous link takes you? That sounds harsh and condescending I know but really I'm grinning. I've pulled a Resnig myself a time or two. Edit in: Turns out this is the thread I was looking for. I was gonna answer the question about what was it? (I'm on the edit page now and can't quote) Irrevocable repairs. Here goes. I had a condition where repairs kept getting suspended. Not only would repairs get suspended but you couldn't order anyone to go anywhere without babysitting them. They wouldn't follow orders and just did whatever they felt like. I even posted a thread in Area 51. I watched and watched that game like a hawk. I couldn't figure it out. It was driving me nuts. Finally I started watching Perscan. The few marines that were in good enough health to be wandering around (searching) walked into the transporter room and got irradiated. In Area 51 one of the other guys kept saying radiation but I wasn't showing any. I finally repaired enough things so I could fly (navigate through space) to a friendly star station. I docked and voila I had radiation on board. I cleaned it up and everything was well. There are several points to this. 1) Read EVERY thread. Hints are like bird droppings. THey can show up anywhere. I had already mentioned to someone else in another thread up in General Issues (Repairs Suspended thread) to dock at a friendly and see if they see something you don't. 2) Don't trust this game to babysit you. It won't. Roam is not pass/fail. Do I blame Derek for the game not reporting radiation when I had radiation? I want to but I can't. That ship was beat to hell and back. Maybe so many systems were down that the systems COULDN'T find the radiation. Now I know that the conditions of everyone acting wierd and/or repairs suspended could possibly mean radiation somewhere in your ship that you haven't found. 3) It's a friggin' game (stolen from Derek) [ 07-04-2003, 01:04 AM: Message edited by: Cmdr Chavik ]

Darn; PerTrak sounded really cool. Is there no way to make a just four panes each one the appropriate deck? But just have it info and not another interface. Tacscan does the same thing with dots and that works great. But I love Perscan I really do. I have died because I was enjoying watching my marines fight off intruders and not paying attention to the outside.

quote:Supreme Cmdr Now thats the funniest and most stupid think Resnig has ever done. This from the man who built his AI. {runs for cover} This thread (or original post) ought to be immediately duplicated in the archives or something and be required reading. To anyone who has ever wondered why we hate Resnig; THAT is why we hate Resnig. Do you even realize how long it took the testers to convince Derek that Resnig was a numbnuts? This guy ain't even the original Resnig. This guy is the improved Resnig.

Finder1 usually first or second to report in. Hmmm. Maybe he getting ready for our 4TH celebration. I understand. I'm anticipating The Newest member of Balor Fleet to check in. dreadx. Welcome dreadx!

Ummm well that wasn't a command exactly I was sorta digging for compliments. Ok there are a couple of things. First: Welcome! I'm very flattered. Second: You need a sig. There are some old rules that I remember but they don't really seem to hold sway. The first was if you belong to a fleet you may only use that fleet's quote or none at all. Well. The second was that Insurgent have our own ranks but again.... So style your sig after one of us. quote: Commander name Ship name, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Balor Fleet YOUR QUOTE System profile info (leave this if you intend or anticipate the need to ask hardware/configuration info Use the sig test thread to test spacing. Or this thread. Or modify as you go. Lastly check in to the July Roll Call.

Well welcome back! Ever feel like ya need to go back to work to rest a bit? Hehe. Are you creating an inventory list or taking an inventory? Either one sucks.

My, my did June go by quickly. I'm another year older and we're getting closer to good things. What about those maps? Pugwash did some really cool ones that you can access in another thread. Anyway fall in or something.
-
Did you mean the Insurgents in general or Balor in Particular? I would love to have you. All you have to do is ask. Wait you did that . Just click in my sig where it says "Balor Fleet" in yellow. That's a link to the Balor Fleet home page. Check it out.

Woohoo! It works. Registered both home numbers. I have that weird ringmaster and not two separate lines but I still have two numbers so get hit twice a lot.

quote:Sir John Falstaff: I too am eagerly awaiting GBS2. who needs docs? If you're a computer person you know how to monkey with settings and then undo your own mess. Somewhere I have the GBS I docs (what there are of them) printed. I can sorta read a script but couldn't write one to save my life. It is harder than it looks. Be careful what you wish for.

Subliminal Messages In Advertizing
Charles Lindsey replied to aggressor27's topic in General Chatter
Hmmm and I was gonna brag about 397 MPH. Guess I can't spank my monkey like I used to. Ep5 being young seems like he can spank his monkey real good. -
Wow those are cool! But it's screen P.S.Warning: multiple installs are not advised. It really don't like it that well.
-
Not funny. I don't get it. Now if this is on the other hand a make your own caption thingy (warning: thread hijack in progreess) then I submit. A) You know you want it Gimmee a kiss snookums

You have more than two installs. You are talking to a friend about the game and region names roll off your tongue like they just up the road. You have memorized the route from Earth to Polaris and can fly there without navitron.

Question about... ship locations
Charles Lindsey replied to kschang's topic in Universal Combat Series
quote:Originally posted by DREADA: Back in BC3k days, an unofficial layout image was available on the boards for area locations by deck, but just for the Mk1 Battlecruiser. I've probably still got it on my home machine somewhere, could dig it up next time I'm home? To my knowledge, there is no such layout diagram for BCM/BCMG... as you know there are a lotta ships! Please do. I used to have the BC3K layout. Eclipse fixed it for me once but it got corrupted again. Then there was the BCM layout with the VTOL bay. I used to have that as well. edit in: I have found the BCMDECKS.ZIP on my aol server and downloaded it again. I also have an empty folder called bclayout.zip. DREADA I think that is the file you should be looking for. [ 06-27-2003, 09:46 PM: Message edited by: Cmdr Chavik ] -
Figured out what happened to Blades. This thread explains it. Apparently his Thyroid kicked into overdrive. Hyperthyroidism. Yuck.

Somehow or another Rattler managed to smuggle an email out from behind enemy lines. I think it was through a Zelon Diplomat. He says Hello and adds that he has not forgotten us. He just wishes he could participate more. Those who wish can e-mail the old man at this page . I encourage everyone to drop him a line or so. If you haven't had the pleasure of knowing Rattler introduce yourself, which fleet you are in etc. I know he would appreciate any and all responses. Even if you happen to be an old tester or something down here in our forum checking on what we naughty Insurgents are doing.
-
He said "carry on" in the other thread you started. So I guess that means go ahead. Ep5 you watching? Care to translate>?
-
I care but the AOL client has fits with that software. Basically I can't post at all. MEaning I rarely check it since I can't post. I have ICQ'd Blades offline. If it is not fixed within a couple days I will email him directly.

Ya gotta have whatever it says to repair. Bays, labs, and quarters tend to need minerals and machinery. Systems tend to need just parts. Droids are in there somewhere. A LONG, LONG, time ago Derek even suggested that a system wasn't worth repairing if it was at 99%. Maybe I would repair something if it was at 93%. I would definitely repair it if it had dipped down into the yellow range. Another thing to do is to dock your CC at a friendly Star Station and see if they notice anything Kendrick didn't.

Thanks for the info Gordon, especially the .tiff manipulation before saving to .jpeg. That may come in handy at some point. My only objective in this is to have a camera that produces decent enough pictures to pass around to friends on the web. Say we have a pool party/BBQ. I would take pics, download them, and send them out. The people who use film cameras can develop theirs and I will have mine to email. The pics at 1280 x 1024 ( I think this is pixels and not resolution but I swear that is the mode the manual and camera report) fill up my 19" monitor. The 640 x 480 pics are about as big as say the pic of the MKIII on the 3000ad home page. Either size mode has three quality modes. Fine, Normal, and Basic. Either size pic in normal mode I can't tell the diff in quality on my monitor. Just that one is bigger. Let's see. I charged it monday and today it's still showing half the battery left. Not too bad considering I have been playing with it. I will just have to plan for and work around my intended purposes.
-
I got it Monday. It took nine days via UPS ground. That was a bit long I thought but it did arrive when promised. It's neat. I haven't figured out all the doo dads and whizzbangs yet but I have read the manual and charged the rechargeable battery. The supplied 8 meg Smartmedia card has only 19 out of 24 pics left in 1280 x 1024 mode. Switching to 640 x 480 I got 71 pics left with those four original 1280 pics still on the memory card. It does have software and it did install to Windows XP. Compatible with Paint shop pro. Acquiring from Paint shop launches the cameras acquisition program. Odd that it says on top but it works. Downloading through the serial port takes a bit. Downloading the 640 size pics goes a little faster. (duh ) It's interesting. I'll learn more.

Powercow's site! I haven't seen that in ages. And Hector's walkthrough. Been even longer since I seen that. Another tip. After launching set thrusters to max. Not afterburners just thrusters. Use the external cameras to see the rear view and center the planet in the rear view. This will allow you to travel away from the planet as quickly as possible. While you are travelling away from the planet go into tactical and create your crew assignments. Assign one "pilot" to each shuttle. It can be a marine, sys eng, or flight eng. Really anyone can fly a shuttle. Even bridge officers if you have a grudge against one of them. Now go to tacops. Assign each of your shuttles a waypoint to deploy drone. By this time the crew members should be in your shuttles allowing them to launch. Since the command craft has been travelling away from the planet this whole time when you launch shuttles they should jump to the planet instead of flying there with thrusters. A lot of stuff to go through just to save a few seconds but eh I like it.
