quote:after it's done loading, will run for a few seconds than freeze, looping whatever music it happened to be playing.Looking for the cheat commands in another thread I ran across an entry in the faq for a command line command -x0 that stops certain music processing. quote:Q. SOMETIMES THE GAME HANGS WHEN RESTORING A SAVED GAME A. There are reports that this could happen if you have an SB Live! card. Try adding the -x0 command line parameter to the BCM shortcut and see if that helps. This disables all distance attenuated sound processing and has no affect on the sounds themselves since BCM does not support A3D or EAX.Can't hurt.

quote: here's my thoughs on mining: Drop your drones and go on about your normal BC business. Come back when they're full and empty them. Lather, rinse, repeat.Of course. To check the loadout on your drones have one shuttle on board and go to loadout I think. (It's so automatic to me I don't even think about it) Shuffle between drones and you will get a read out on how full they are. You've got to have a decent memory but you can even have a single shuttle do all your mining operations. Sort of a round robin/stagger operation. Deploy all drones at once using all shuttles. Let all shuttles return. Go off on your business. Watch the loadout. When a drone fills to your satisfaction use shuttle 1 to "Extract Drone 1". When that shuttle returns extract the minerals from it and deploy it again. Except THIS time set waypoint 1 to deploy drone (notice there is no drone number for deployment; it simply deploys the drone on board) and waypoint 2 to extract the next drone in your list. I recommend extract drone 1 ; return to the CC, extract the minerals, deploy drone, extract drone 2 etc., etc. You got one shuttle on board to watch the loadouts, one shuttle to run mining, and two shuttles to chase cargo pods.

quote: http://www.3000ad.com/downloads/bcm/bcmvcf.html Implemented new /cheat command line parameter which enables the following cheats. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! There is also a command line parameter to run it in a window which you may like but it is also a use at your own risk thing. Go to the faq for BCM for those commands. The link is on the downloads page.

Yeah that's the article I was referring to. If you don't want to sign up at the New York Times just go to Yahoo>News>Top Stories>New York times. -

Today I saw on the news that an Iraqi scientist showed them some sites where they dug up "precursors" to chemical weapons. Some equipment and some raw raw material. -
Night in front of the TV - What I'm watching/taping
Charles Lindsey replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in The Arts
Some of these shows are in a bit of trouble. John Doe, Fastlane, and The Agency To name a few Derek listed. You can go to http://www.usatoday.com/life/front.htm?Loc=vanity and participate in a poll. It has a prominent "Save Our Shows" graphics. Click that then it asks for gender and zip. then it takes you to the list. It may not allow a direct link so that's why I put the main page up with instructions. I voted for John Doe. -

You do it so rarely it's hard to remember. Shuttles, drones, and OC are the same way if you are ever unfortunate enough to lose some through space battle damage. It's possible.

Pinky and the Brain I like. I wish I had the cartoon network just for that. A friend at work asks me every friday what I'm going to do this weekend. Of course I have to tell him I'm going to take over the world. He gets such a kick out of that.

Been wondering where ya got off to. Cool house, it's HUGE!!! Ummm, how in the hades do you work for Healthsouth in Alaska? That's almost an oxymoron. Honestly; that's about all the local news shows show and I feel for you.

I missed the original. But I did get in at the free bc3k version 1.01.7.dc (something like that) that you had to compile/reintegrate (?) yourself. Been hanging around ever since. Who remembers the forum before this one?

Silent_Gunner: You're kinda flooding this thread. There is a "Got Mine" thread for posting when you got yours.

BCM Gold Mouse Flight Controls
Charles Lindsey replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in Battlecruiser Series
I always was twitchy with the joystink. Coulda been the old computer though. Somehow I doubt it. Then again.... Oh well no use second guessing myself. I like it. Very good. I like that the wheel cycles the missiles. I like that way the direction pointer grows with the rate of turn. Not absolutely necessary but cool and helpful. If you are targeting a craft you can pretty much eyeball the rate of turn. I can get the TLD centered much better with mouse control than I ever could with a joystink. All in all very good and quite a surprise. With all the flak Freelancer(?) got over mouse controls I think that I would have expected it to be horrid had I known about it. This was a pleasant surprise. Kudos to Derek for keeping it under wraps and only springing it on us a while ago. Keyboard key Alt to toggle mouse flight is fine. But lot's of wheels click. Ummm could the wheel click also toggle mouse flight? (Brazen wish; heading to airlock) But I like mouse flight. -
Got home today and it was sitting on the doorstep.

CNN on Iraq - News we keep to ourselves
Charles Lindsey replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Chatter
There's a really bad joke in there somewhere. I just can't quite pull it out. I'm picturing the 49th armored journalist division with the tanks having staellite antenna instead of gun barrels. -
I couldn't stand it any longer and just now ordered it online. I ordered it direct from Dreamcatcher. I'll be begging for help soon.

There was a funny article posted by LA Weekly (?) on Yahoo. It hit both sides pretty good. Not as funny as Steve's article he linked to a while back but still good. If it cycles through again I'll try to post it. Anyway I have also read that someone freed iraqi children from jail as marines came into baghdad. quote:BAGHDAD (AFP) - More than 100 children held in a prison celebrated their freedom as US marines rolled into northeast Baghdad amid chaotic scenes which saw civilians loot weapons from an army compound, a US officer said. Around 150 children spilled out of the jail after the gates were opened as a US military Humvee vehicle approached, Lieutenant Colonel Fred Padilla told an AFP correspondent travelling with the Marines 5th Regiment. "Hundreds of kids were swarming us and kissing us," Padilla said. "There were parents running up, so happy to have their kids back." "The children had been imprisoned because they had not joined the youth branch of the Baath party," he alleged. "Some of these kids had been in there for five years."

Iraq information minister - a total riotous loon
Charles Lindsey replied to Supreme Cmdr's topic in General Chatter
Even AOL had a headline. "Is He Watching The Same War?" The DJ's at the station I listen to love this guy. -
They had a better one the other day with a link to space.com. Quite a little side discussion going on about what constitutes a true moon. Interesting stuff. http://www.space.com/scienceastronomy/moon...ion_040103.html Found it. Good article that mentions those moons with lot's of sublinks like how the giant planets formed, how uranus got tipped on its side, and asteroids that have moons. It also mentions a Trojan Satellite that gleefully follows Earth's orbit swapping sides every so often. [ 04-06-2003, 10:49 PM: Message edited by: Cmdr Chavik ]

quote:i was going to start roll call myself...You may certainly PM me if I lapse. quote:i was here on april first looking for the roll call room That cut me to the quick. Ouch! I should definitely take more responsibility. Ya'll are the best guys checking in and checking back like this. I do not consider this babysitting. I consider this showing responsibilty for those who wish to show their own responsibilty, interest, and enthusiasm for the game itself in general and our fleet in particular. Thanks again guys.
