I'm very flexible on this. The govt could put it in the bank too and earn interest. Republicans oughta love that idea! It would have to be self insured or something so a crash wouldn't take it out but it could work. They already deduct my check for pension but I can opt (and I did) to put more money in a deferred compensation plan. It's taken out pretax (which is nice and happened during Clinton so there;) ) and I have about 30 stock funds (which are still tanking BTW) or about six bond funds.

I think it could work but it would take forever for non fingerprinted guns to work their way out of service. Like a generation or more. I don't think guns are as disposable as cars that need replaced all the time. The point that there would always be some non fingerprinted guns out there is a valid one. Then the black market and foreign guns. And a good machinist could probably make one from scratch. I got it all figured out. Fingerprint it at the factory and attach it to the serial number and the store it went to. That's it. The factory keeps those records. Then the store keeps whatever records they keep. Then IF the police needed the info they could start the detective work. No one is actually registered but it could be tracked. Sounds good but don't know if it will work.

Our democratic governor has recruited auto plants into our state and done some other good things. But he also awarded a lot of illegal no bid contracts. He fixed it (so his campaign said but the other guy's campaign never disputed) and actually ran on issues. At least he started to before the mudslinging. The republican just ran on the "It's time for a change" spiel without saying anything at all about the issues. We are now Florida with just a few thousand vote different and one county changed their vote counts. Now we don't know who won yet. "You" (they) can gloat a bit but please don't call it a mandate. I think there were a lot of close races and the republicans won but it certainly isn't a mandate. Yeah, now the republicans control all three parts. Well, almost. There's a runoff out there and one other recount I think. That's gonna be interesting if they do get control. Bush is gonna get anything he wants. That homeland security dept sorta scares me. I think it has the potential to become too big for it's britches much like the IRS. I'd like a balanced budget amendment. Sadly I think there will never be another amendment to the constitution. Too hard to get it done. Much easier just to federally legislate it. But I could go for that so long as it gets done. It isn't really a surplus until all the federal debts are gone. But let's say we are running a "surplus". I have seen political commentary that the govt should take just enough to run and give the rest back. I can agree with that but I can be flexible too. Let's say we can have something reasonable like 5% - 15% surplus and it goes into a hedge fund for deficit years. It would balance over the long term and if it ever grew too big it could then be refunded. Draconis has some other good points but that was about all I wanted to commment on.

Epsilon5 has it right. Inform that particular fleet you wish to join them. Ride things out from there. A new fleet database will be built from active members. My best guess.

I have paid attention to the issues over the years. I will carefully weigh these issues, look at voting records and such, and vote for the guy that digs up the most dirt on the other one.

Just got my card back a few days ago. Just in time for mid term elections. This will be interesting.

I never said he didn't exist. I said they now have concrete evidence which is most interesting. Much better than anecdotal evidence passed down in the Bible or the disputed Shroud of Turin. Kinda hard to argue with a rock. Unless it's that proverbial brick wall.

This was great. Kids will love it. Plenty enough humor for the adults as well. Some of the dialogue from the child actors was painful but not too bad. Chet was great. Theatre was packed for this one. At 1:00 on a cloudy, wet, rainy Sunday afternoon, go figure. For the humor and feel good seasonal stuff 9/10. If you are looking for a great cinematic experience 5/10.

My girl friends thought it was creepy enough. It helped that there were only 15 people tops in the whole theatre. Decent plot that was fairly well thought out. The only glaring inconsistency was when the guy fell through the floor then they run around the ship for the rest of the movie without a care in the world. I only screamed when the spun the room around real fast and then they popped an image at you. More a scream of shock than one of fear. But a scream is a scream. I was flipping through the channels the other night and I saw parts of that first mass murder scene. I was wondering what in the world it was doing on tv so quickly so I kept watching. It was kinda fuzzy too. So as I watched suddenly Jamie Kennedy came on in a blond wig and in a very queer choreographer voice said, "Now doesn't that just make you wanna dance? Ok boys and girls, one, two, from the top, four." and made these actors do a show tune. I usually don't like stupid embarrassing humor like that but being familiar with the scene it got a appreciative groan out of me.

Very good I thought. One gorey (but not too bad) mass murder scene at the beginning and the rest is spookum and harem scarem. I even screamed once. I don't like things that jump out or are shown suddenly. Pretty good. 8/10

UMMm well I just don't get it. Was it a joke? Best I remember Jesus never married so can't have descendents. However "they" (nameless scientists for now) have found a peice of pottery or something just recently that has the inscription "Jesus; brother of John, son of Mary and Joseph" or something real close. It names all the relatives but maybe not in the order I listed. They admit while Jesus was a popular name at the time they believe that that exact combination of names identifies the Christian Jesus as a true historical person. Quite interesting.

Now see. There's rednecks everywhere. We just claim ours. ;D
