  1. Since you guys don't have a "Fleet Leader" to approve you it is up to the admins to approve you. Once you choose your Independent race and caste please post here and let us know you are alive and wanting to register. Again this thread is for Independent commanders to inform everyone that they are here and want to be registered in the Fleet Database. The Fleet FAQ states that you must be a registered member of the forum in order to join the Fleet Database. If you post you are obviously registered. Simple enough to me. Stay on topic. No recruiting. Newbie questions about what to join should also be in different threads. This thread is only for new guys who have chosen their race and caste and want to remind the admins to approve them. Thanks, Charles [ 10-14-2001: Message edited by: Charles Lindsey ]
  2. quote:star trek universe, compared to BCM I did that once. The thread was not pretty.
  3. The goat was only for last Halloween when I went to work dressed as a pirate. No time now. Need to correct one statement though. It does have a viewfinder. Just not a viewscreen like the nicer ones I have seen at the stores. Wasn't but $60
  4. Bought a cheapie. Works ok. Fixed arperture and flash. Self timer. No viewfinder or anything. Just an LCD display showing how many pics you got. 20 - 36 image capability depending. The software is a joke. Just a few wizards with no real capabilities but good enough for now while I play with it. Just for kicks I took a pic of myself. maybe it will work.
  5. In the words of extra crewman "Guy" from Galaxy Quest: "Oh that's not riiiiiight!" {snickers} That was funny.
  6. Soback, don't worry. If you pay them money it is not a vanity address. Juno is the only exception as far as I know. They do have a freebie plan with limited usage. If you exceed that usage they warn you and then invite you to upgrade to a pay plan. It was this way a year ago when I was checking my juno account. I used to use it when AOL went wiggy. So don't worry. AOL is not a vanity address no matter how much people hate them or which screen name you use. Menchise: Glad you were vindicated. Welcome back!
  7. Awww why wish you a happy birthday? You're old already! hehe. Happy Birthday Sho!
  8. Looks great! Good job ShoHashi.
  9. Menchise last talked to me about June. He was into Active Worlds and building the structures there. He just went quiet one day but still posted on the forum. I just figured that he gathered I wasn't to enthusiastic about Active Worlds. He has also participated in several debate threads. Dunno myself. He was in an Insurgent. He participated well. Don't mean a thing. Sigh
  10. quote:the question of what price is reasonable My concerns if I were to be a trader, and I plan to be even though it's for a fleet, would be profit. You must take into account what it takes to make the run in the first place. Brand new ships (no longer limited to just BC's) are not very fuel efficient. You must calculate the radine usage per jump and the cost of "protection". If you can't make that run and still make a profit you might as well not make that run. The same would be true for the merc. If he can't make a profit on the run calculating fuel usage and possible damages he shouldn't agree to it either. Maybe the trader would risk a small run by hinself.
  11. Jaguar lost a post in the "Instant MEssengers" thread. He asked if I did it. Of course I did not. Only thing I can think of is that we posted simultaneously and the board chose mine over his. Thought there were buffers for that sort of thing though. I haven't been down in this thread and this is not the same type of thing. You aren't using XP are you?
  12. THe situation is so delicate.
  13. Ok guys. How did a thread about economics (Prices, charges, fees, dues, etc.) get changed to a discussion about alternate AE's and recruiting? Tighten up. Back on topic. You agree on a price first. The protectee pays. The protector follows the protectee to the destination. If the pretector gets into trouble and runs then he will get a bad reputation. Simple as that I think. Guess we will find out.
  14. The time for that sort of stuff was at the beginning of this thread (5 days ago at least) when it could have been taken as a concern and reasoned with. Now that the decision is made it is pointless.
  15. Aol has it's own internal Instant message but I use ICQ for others. No need to hack out the ads I think. Just find 99b beta I think it is. That's what I'm using and it's still great.
  16. I have slightly updated the Balor Fleet web page I have added a cooking section with real recipes. Go to the page and go through assets>outdoor activities>cooking.
  17. Awwwwww Andergum! ?! I can't believe that.
  18. Shame on me Juxtapositional Universal Galactic Simulator J.U.G.S.
  19. Sounds like you got slammed. Happened to me once. I was furious. "Seeing red" furious. I called them up and gave them what for. Not even a single curse word. But I immediately got very timid "yes sir" and "no sir" answers to my questions. Questions like You will switch me me back and various other assurances I wouldn't be charged. I then immediately called my local Bell and put a stop on unauthorized switching. Worked against me recently though. MCI called with a better deal and I agreed to switch. But the block prevented that. I never have gotten it changed. I don't even use long distance. Not because I am against it but because I have no one to call. My parents are very near me. Credit cards and utilities have the 1-800 numbers. So I'm set. Still want it if I need it though. What happened to me was by some fly-by-night company. Wouldn't have thought Sprint would do something like that.
  20. quote:What about hazard pay? That should be figured into an initial price. That's what the transport is paying you for; protection. A "milkrun" would be very profit intensive but one where you actually have to work you might end up losing money.
  21. Page looks great! Good job on it. This is going to be intersting.
  22. quote:Scotty was preserved in the "pattern buffer" I LOVED that episode. Back on topic. I like how everything is new and raw. The second episode was standard fare. Not great but not bad. I think the third will be a real good one. I like how they are getting the universal translator working. Just stuff like that. I like the dog. I like how they eat meals that are served instead of coming from the replicator. I think it will do well.
  23. No. You could get a tad more room by moving some stuff to the transporter thereby freeing up space to unload more minerals at a go.
  24. Go to file planet and look up a litle game called Solar Wars. It's good for a few days.
