  1. I love the music as well. Search the GNN archives. You can find the names of the songs there. They are no longer on the server however. Perhaps one of the preview sites grabbed them. They weren't supposed to appear on Napster (we were threatened with our lives) but who knows? ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  2. I thought you had not yet been approved. I had been looking at the application page. You're there. Same DB. For now it is for roleplaying purposes but later your stats will updated as you play on official multiplay servers. Changing races or castes is prohibited at this time. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  3. which game are you talking about? We must know this. Anyway, all of it. Kill the whole thing. Uninstall. Kill the folder. re-install. Check downloaded patches for correct file size. (you could very possibly have had a bad download) then patch. Now; if you are talking memory allocation you are talking BC3k. All disclaimers apply There is a very old post (no I didn't look just remember it) that indicates you must change your shortcut memory settings to some mutliple of available memory at or about 63000. Forces Windows to use this amount of mem for you. You must manually type this into the window. You must also not (well shouldn''t be) be running anything else other than Explorer and Systray. Best I can do.
  4. The only three people I see registered in the Fleet DB are registered as Terran Military. Shingen, if you wish to register as Gammulan do so. That will be your choice forever though. However I do not see you registered as of yet. Make your choice carefully. A word of warning to everyone. You should always register with the same username to anything on this board. That way CAT members, Admins, and Fleet Leaders can recognize you right away if you have posted enough to be in our memory. Not a reprimand, just a helpful hint to all of you and it is one of the operating procedures of this board. This is geared towards you Shingen. There is no Shingen in the Fleet DB as of the time I am viewing it. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  5. Heh, where I work that would be using your office for personal gain and an ethics law violation. Printing the manual is not a bad idea at all if you can do it. I just can't justify draining a $40 ink cartridge to print a manual. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  6. Granted, MK3 would have no chance against one of those huge things from Star Wars. I agree with that. Caine! Owwwwwwwww. ( I actually like the models, that hurt ) Plus Caine, once the PTA begins firing the cloak is effectively cancelled. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 03-19-2001).]
  7. Oh, Ben. Photon torpedoes with only a straight line firing solution? While the BC has certain missiles that only requires a valid lock for a few seconds before they can be fired? I think the MK3 would do pretty good against a ST ship. Sorry for delay in replies. This thread was mussed for a couple days. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  8. Someone just posted that it took them several minutes (like 5) to get through this step. Be patient. If it still refuses to install it may just be a bad download. Not the best news I know. (and you were rude. Lighten up. It will take others time to respond. Plus we are trying to keep the site clean for ease of searching. This demo forum was made for discussion of the demo. We have gotten compliments on the site before. ) ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  9. Go to the Fleets info page and check out the training academy and Powercow's site. One or the other (perhaps both) has a walkthrough written by Commander Nava and will go a long way towards getting you started. "How do fleets work" Go to the main fleets page (also linked from the fleet info page) and read up a bit. It explains the goals of the fleets in more detail than here. Basically we are gathering for multiplay but this page explains the goals and objuectives of the various fleets. "What's the point" To have fun. Seriously. If you want to explore like the Enterprise have at it. If you want to go have a shoot 'em up battle go do that. The game is open ended allowing you to simulate (almost) whatever playing environment you wish for yourself. Be aware that NPC characters will still pop up to throw a wrench in your plans. Demo question already answered. Printing the manual? Never. Not with this inkhog 2000 I have. The adobe manual is terrific and has a pretty good search function. You choice of course. Anyway there are some links to get you started. Still some reading to do if you are interested but hopefull that will get you going. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  10. I was trouble posting the other night so I think the board had gotten a touch of indegestion. I had started a new topic that simply informed everyone that I had updated the Balor Fleet website. I had also asked for a small profile in which I requested what assignment and ship you would like. We'll see what we can do. That goes for anyone else as well. I also had the idea to link everyone's name to their fleet DB profile. What does everyone think of that? Would save some time in rewriting profiles. [edit in] Forgot to tell you about your sig. You should add your launch base (station) and the system it is located in behind your ship's name. In Balor's case it is "Sygan Starstation (Sygan)". You may use the Insurgent approved quote "You can only love or hate something you truly understand" if you wish. I don't like expanding sig syndrome so I don't. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Canlon, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official Researcher for the Insurgency (Been a long time since that was bestowed upon me. Official BC3K Tester permanently booked in brig level three express permit to airlock #6 [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 03-19-2001).]
  11. Awww, Gallion you're no fun at all. I think she'd do pretty good with the PTA and all. How about a Wing Commander ship say from the Movie or the Galactica?
  12. Let's say there was this parallel universe thing going on and the MK3 met with the original Enterprise. How would she fare? How about against Voyager? Or a Klingon Ship? How about against one of those mother ships from Independence Day? ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  13. Aramike, you are correct. Thanks for the extension though. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  14. Mike, Sorrow didn't call you one; he just said you had an attitude like one. Subtle difference. Then again, it was very heated. Your call. Still, only twelve hours on the net is like a split second real time. It is the weekend and all. Perhaps a deep breath and a little more time? ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  15. Welcome Pugwash! Glad to have you. Just stow your gear over there and we'll get started. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  16. I'd like Ohso. Where did he go?
  17. I've been getting this mag called MAximum PC for a little while now. Seems to be ok. But this months issue (just got the April issue) had something that really caught my eye. It had a blurb about an article in next months issue (May) for PC pranks and they listed the first one. Put some scotch tape over someone's mouse ball and see how long it takes them to figure it out. Probably the weakest one they had but still slightly funny. I have also changed the shutdown .wav to the T-Rex roar from Jurassic Park and turned the speakers way up. That got some firends a few times. ANT on AOL (also at www.ant.com ) used to have a thing where they explained how you could change the shut down .bmp. "It's now safe to turn off the computer" They had several .bmp already made but I chose the one with the same Orange text. It said, "Go, go! I don't care. You'll be back. You need me more than I need you. B*st*rd!" It was funny when people finally noticed the thing. What other mean things can you do to your PC? ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  18. quote:so all you guys on Modems and dynamic IP's, get off and then get back on with a new address and vote again, let's load up the ballot box!!! lol That would be cheating IMHO. My vote is in. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  19. Soback, the point of Steve's post is that the tracks are finished. There won't be any re-recording. I was a nut for these things when they were being released sporadically in GNN. Heck, I even whimpered for new ones if it had been too long. [grin] But they are finished and there is no use suggesting anything. That's what Derek's post meant. Don't be upset; we all get dinged from time to time. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  20. [rp] I think I'm insulted. Was that a crack on Balor specifically or the Insurgency in general Epsilon5? Better watch out.[/rp] note rp tags. Soback mentioned supply and RPG. Whether he meant actually joining a fleet or just writing it would be Terran/Galcom/commander/any ship for Galcom or Terran/Insurgent/commander/transport (preferred), or any ship for the Insurgency. Balor will need a few escorts and BC can still haul some cargo. I would welcome anyone interested in that. And all of the above will probably be refined some more when we actually get to multiplay. I can't wait. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  21. I saw Monkey Bone. Glad it was the Matinee. Probably could have waited for it to come out on video. It had a few really funny spots but other than that I thought it was average. D&D seems interesting. I just want to see the effects. Krull was sort of ok but I liked that they rode Clydesdales. Seem to remember some little blurb that since they were bred for size no one had put a saddle on one in a couple hundred years. Battle Beyond The Stars? Isn't that the one with John Boy Walton in it? (sorry, can't remeber his name) Try Dark Crystal, hehe Joined a DVD club. Got Six Days, Seven Nights (real good), The Matrix (great), and Jurassic Park. Going to have Mission Impossible 2 soon if I don't mail that darn card back. I liked the first one better. Had Veal Parmesan for dinner. Real easy. Six pc veal spread in a 13 x 9 pan. Two can's Hunt's, Prego, or equivalent spaghetti sauce on top of that. Bake @ 350 for 30 mins. Sprinkle with Parmesan and some mozzerella. Rice on the side and use the extra sauce on the rice. Good stuff. Two weeks ago went to a friend's house when those storms ripped through here. My power was on so went to help them. Went out to a Sonic and got us something to eat. After that the booze came out. Well it quickly turned into hen night. The more Flirtini's that got passed the worse it got. Then came the catalogs, then the cough, well; I didn't know they made them in so many colors. It was sort of like a risque tupperware party. Got home and my power was out. go figure. Akuma, I just hope you don't put Foss through something like that. ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
  22. I'm still here. Keeping the light burning.
  23. Darn me for not scrolling down. All ya had to do was ask. Someone here will have it. I did. But glad ya found it. Charles
  24. Got bored and went to the Comp USA. After looking at the too expensive hardware I decided to go through the games. Nothing struck my fancy there either. I wandered around the store for a bit looking for the bargain aisle. They've re-arranged since I was there last but found it. Not much interesting there either. Finally the jewel case display struck my eye. Even though I expected nothing more than the "1000 Best Windows Solitaire" games and "Billy Bob's 3D Landscaping Planner" I looked anyway. Boy was I surprised. Of course they had some of the dorky things but they also had Jewel case Tomb Raider games, Ultima Online Gold (something like that) , several other big names I recognized but wasn't interested in. Patiently flipping through them all I found a copy af Railroad Tycoon. Old I know but I enjoyed the demo. I liked watching the little guys chugging around. My Dad had a Lionel Set he used to set up for Christmas. So the demo was fun and nostalgic at the same time. Did finally find one other copy so may buy that for dad. I also found three copies of Dues Ex. I really enjoyed this demo. Along the lines of Thief but modern. I tucked those away hoping they will last till payday. Everything was labeled $9.99 so I figured I could handle that. Went to the register and it rang up $5.27 ($4.99 + tax). Way Cool. I can handle that to the max. Anyway, the whole point was that they seem to be putting really good stuff in the bargain bins. If you got a Comp USA near you go check it out. That just made my day. Anyone find anything else really neat? ------------------ Vice Admiral Chavik ICV Phoenix, Sygan Starstation (Sygan) Fleet Leader - Balor Fleet Official BC3K Tester
