I'd like to put a pic of Sygan in there. Would a two column table with the approriate number of rows on the left and a single one on the right accomplish this? Any better ideas?

Yes, jag uar mentioned win98 second edition. Jag, you saying you have both the 2.00 - 2.08 and the 2.08 - 2.09 patches? One or both might have gotten corrupted on download. Try getting them again. Did you also remember to run the sound setup before running the game? There is a small file in your bc3000 directory that is named setup but has an MS-Dos icon for it. Run that before running the game. You could also try running 2.0 first and if that works go to the next step/patch. I have Win98 first edition or the beta or whatever it's called but it works fine here. Been a while though. Also make sure you are not trying to run the 3dfx version. Use the software version since you don't have a 3dfx card.

Go patch a couple things and watch what happens. I can't suggest to someone to not join Earthcom because of what happened in "Into the Fire" thread. That is all Karl is saying I beleive. And I agree. Some players will come to play and should not be influenced by RP stories that are represented as fact. Some players may enjoy RP more and will be influenced by the RP. That is ok too. Perhaps they only want to RP. Fine. It appeared to be worked out in the first four posts. That seemed fine to me, with the added stipulation that anyone can police that post and call someone to facts. I am not denying RP nor it's roots in the BC community. Nor am I denying the fact that Derek saw how much we enjoyed it and made special accomodations in the game for the fleets with entire stations etc. However, we simply cannot sway an uneducated player's opinion with RP. If they make that decision on their own that's fine. PS You reallllllly don't want to join Orion. I hear tell the fleet leader has inappropriate relations with a junior officer.

Post your computer specs. Others may notice something. Read the faq while waiting. You might find the problem yourself. Try to run the demo only with systray and explorer running in the background. And one more time, remove "Templar clanlord, Clan Shadow Wolfz" from your sig. It is inapproriate in this forum. Yes I had them but they are gone. That computer died. I had thought about pulling that hard drive and seeing if I could see aything on it with this one but it was aobut toast as well.

My post explained: Original proposal. We need a newbie fleet. My answer expanded. Prime is the default fleet you are assigned to when you join Galcom. This applies to forum members as well as to future multiplay. If you don't make the special effort to be an insurgent, join one of the specialised Galcom fleets, or be an independent or other race you are by default in Galcom Prime Fleet. Since a lot of the members who come here need time to make a decision (they are still a newbie) I would consider Prime as the newbie fleet & basic training so to speak. If you decide to stay in Prime and make a sig you are out of the newbie part and into the main force. Is that better or did I just insult all of Prime? Same for Insurgents. Mike just reminded me of the procedure in Spectre. That's where you go till assigned. So Spectre is the "newbie" part of the Insurgents. Hope that's better. But everyone else is right. There will be no new fleets. But I see you understand that already. Uhmmm, don't forget to have fun and welcome.

Glad you liked it Tyrn. I found it interesting in that it was almost a small history of some firearms as well because you could see their insertion into the different laws quoted. What I also found interesting was that in antiquity, when people were little more than warrior clans, everyone (men) had weapons. Issued probably at some great manhood ritual. Then as the feudal system took hold that was withheld for some of the lowest citizens. Several repairs went back and forth through the various monarchies. Then when we move through the article into more modern times it was ever so gently changed to landholders with holdings worth a certain amount. Then in America it went back to everyone could have them. Just so long as we don't go back to the manhood ritual. Whatever that was and I'm scared to ask. Also interesting is that apprently Britain didn't have a Bill Of Rights until shortly before we did. Interesting stuff but doesn't do a thing for either argument. Just that bear arms does mean weapons.

Mike, I apologis for any disruptions in communication tonight. The stupid phone rang and knocked me off. Yes I had the call waiting block on but I think companies pay extra to get around that or AOL is just the POC it usually is. Then when they wouldn't answer I hung up angrily. Well I didn't seat the phone right and it fell off onto the floor losings its cover. I put the cordless back together and then tried to sign on. It wouldn't I thought it was the incoming thunderstorm which always plays havoc with the phone lines. Well it wasn't. The cordless had knocked the corded off the hook and I couldn't get a dial tone. Sigh. Only me. Will finish conversation later.
