  1. quote:. One benifit since I reinstalled is that my shields automatically come on when tractoring an object such as Diplomat 1, when jumping into a hostle area. Note: The tractor beam STAYS engaged! I thought this was a fluke. I went to save the game and it crashed to the desktop. Sounds like the game hosed itself one more time. That shouldn't be happening. When you engage the tractor your shields should drop and "mother" ought to give you a warning. If you then raised shields the tractor beam should disengage. You also didn't mention re-configuring the sound but you didn't mention the game not starting with the hmi file problems so it seems you did that. Sometimes I have to restart to get settings to stick. You can throw that in the mix with all the other good advice. Try it after deleting the old older. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes" [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 07-10-2000).]
  2. One MohammeD_X Was a registered user on this forum. I remember him. He has 15 posts here but I could only find http://www.3000ad.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/000100.html that one. Probably due to the cleanup. I seem to remember that MohammeD_X asked a lot of questions and was generally never satisfied. Correct me if I am wrong. Is MohammeD_X On the Terminus forum the same guy? Could be. Then he cussed a bit. Then gave some points back. Then cussed again then gave a couple more issues back. He's interested in BCM (A I Am ) as well. Eh, whatcha gonna do? I hope he likes BCM. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  3. Went to see Jeff Dunham live tonight. Man, my face hurts I laughed so hard. If you ever get a chance to see him do it! http://www.onastick.com/ Some clips of him and his characters are scattered around the page. Best viewed with Shockwave from Micromedia but a standard page is available. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  4. A small point. There are splinter groups of Insurgents mentioned in the manual. Fair game to me. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  5. What do you want? I think you have been invited to join several fleets. That is until you started being "wishy-washy" in your opinions. That just threw everyone in a tizzy. You joined Galcom but gave gave the Insurgents several points in the "debate". Sheesh what a mistake. Joining a fleet automatically throws you into a sort of roleplay. Once you choose a side you must stick with it. You must stick with it wholeheartedly. That's part of the game. Pure and simple. None of us really hate each other. We all play BC3K. That's why the really nasty posts are in "RP" tags. We are teasing each other and the RP's let each other know it for sure. Ok, ok, we can give each other a point or two but we still stick with the policies of our fleets. You came in trying to be a diplomat. (Seems to me, correct me if I am wrong.) But your constant stance of quote:My personal views in no way affect my perfomance of mission objectives screams Merc to us. That's what merc's do; they fight the battles for whomever is paying the bills. But I have never seen you mention money. Hmmmm. So, it's your choice but you have to play it to the hilt (pretty much)(and within RP tags so we understand you are "kidding" and/or "roleplaying"). Lot's of folks would like to have you. You are nice, polite, and enthusiastic. Are you asking to be invited? If so you have to play that role. If you are looking for opportunities for advancement there should be several fleets looking for various officers. But stick to the role. (If the post seems obnoxiuos I'll delete it. Tell me.)(Other admins; same thing. If it's obnoxious delete it.) ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  6. Well? A Legally worded document with about ten "get out" options I think it could be ok. I also saw the "swipe card" that was used. You would really realize you are getting into a contract. I would at least. I have bought a few things online. Ma and Pa Kettle may not though. It's a bit scary thinking what someone could get into if they didn't know what they were doing. What I don't think it means that if I say something here with my unique, recognizable, and pretty much "provable", sig file that I would he held accountable for stray comments. Like "I won't comment on the snarks again" or something benign like that. Any other thoughts or arguments? Used correctly this could be a real boon to people. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  7. [RP] Nails?!?!? What?!? nails? Now where are they going? Sheesh. Aramike, ShoHashi, I thought you guys had this worked out. Seems the Corsiar has gotten a supply from one of our more unsecure vendors. It had better be a vendor and not one of us. Thanks for checking into it. Personally I don't trust the Corsiar. He has always been a bit off. He accepts our hospitality twice that I know of and then he goes and makes these arguments. I even interviewed him once. Then he talks about honor. Humnph. What Rattler sees in him I don't know. Perhaps the glamour has worn off with this. Seems like it now. Now Mr. Pirate (sanctioned though you may be, a pirate is still a pirate) a man's first loyalty should be to his home. Earth in this case. then to his government, then to his service choice (military, civilian, etc), then to his fleet, wing, and finally to his crew and finally to his ship. Most often the crew makes the ship and not the other way around. Ship crews are tight because they need each other to survive but I beleive you are in the service for your planet first. The primary service (which you well know) is to preserve the planet. Something the UFN has not done a good job of in the last couple hundred years. We are loyal to Earth and all she could be. That is if the UFN would quit ruining her. A necromancer is someone who revives the dead. We will revive the dead Earth the UFN has caused. Nothing of trickster or charlatan in the matter. Be Very careful Corsair. Don't burn too many bridges. You still have to cross mine. Are you lucid at the moment? edit: forgot to close RP oops [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 06-28-2000).]
  8. Done and done.
  9. I see it now. Duh! I graduated high school. I promise. Charles
  10. I watched him do it. I listened to him explain it. I still couldn't do it. Oh well, takes a knack I guess. But so long as you complete the mission everything is ok right.?
  11. Ya got me all wrong. I did not mean to berate anyone at all. It IS good tip. I know what you might have seen. That was fixed within one minute of posting. refresh it.
  12. quote:ive lost two shuttles to intruders and i can buy new ones, but i find if i turn off launch control in logistix, intruders can't lift off stealing my remaining shuttles or interceptors. A good tip that has been posted but is worth repeating. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes" [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 06-19-2000).]
  13. Once again Rattler proved the consummate host. Snafu was the perfect hostess. In fact she did too much. Way too much. Take her out to dinner for me Rattler. We played BC3K to death. . I got lot's of coaching on the first few (first TOD is as far as I think I got) ACM missions. hehe. I'm sorry I didn't save those profiles to a disk and bring them home. I should have brought them home. Snafu's 'puter took everything I threw at it. I downloaded a couple small demo's and showed them off. Then I snagged every Thief demo I could find and the System Shock 2 demo as well. I also installed demo's off the two Eidos demo disks we had as well. It was a champ I tell ya. I'm sure Rattler is still cussing me for the defrag he probably needs to run. I deem it a success. Thanks again Rattler. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  14. quote:Where do I go to sign up to be an Insurgent Commander? You've already done that by stating your intentions. Welcome! Lessee; the next thing to do would be to design a sig. Pick a good/nice/cool/rad name for yourself. Commander "X". If you even think you might do any roleplaying posts at all I would suggest a first and last name. Then you need a ships name. Then the station you are assigned to. Your sig will end up looking like: Commander "X" or Cmdr "X" ICV- "X" "X" Star station/base (when you get assigned) Anyhow, welcome again. Look around. You should have an assignment shortly. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  15. RP ON And I suspect that is why ShoHashi is not having any problems getting supplies. I'll have to look into this. If my suspicions are true we'll have to re-route for a while to catch everyone else back up. ShoHashi, continue to be hospitable, heaven knows shuttle slugs usually aren't appreciated, but do be fair to your peers. Do refresh Cmdr Blair on Insurgent policies if you will. No one will miss the odd assassin or raider but we really don't need any more enemies than we already have. Cmdr Kristophers; try letting your marines run those shuttles. It's fairly simple yet the crosstraining may do them some good for ground ops. All my marines have shuttle time and I'm sure each and every one of them could navigate to a planet and land the thing. Good for covert ops. If you're positive your pilots need to play shuttle slug for a while give the marines a crack at the IC's. That's an option I haven't even explored. May be worth the experiment. Some experience is better than none. Hmmm, we may be onto something here. Rattler? Marine training on IC's? Cmdr Antilles: I believe the problem was over a matter of rates. Which did take about three months to resolve. Thankfully we did that and things have settled down. The use of free traders has been seriously curtailed since then. Your request has been noted and has in fact been implemented to an extent however we will continue to do what we need to do when we need to do it. If that calls for hiring free traders so be it. Cmdr ShoHashi: Nails mean wood and wood means cabinetry. The only logical need for nails since space stations are constructed of the same Atrian Alloys we use for the ships. (rp off; they had darn well better be or I'll look dumb. ;rp back on) Who in the world is ordering cabinetry when we have more important things to do? Check it out will you? Cmdr David: I'll see what we can do about getting some "refreshments" your way. What next? Cookies? Attract more flies with honey than vinegar I guess. Just make sure they don't get too "refreshed". Wanna make sure the Atrian doesn't turn to an atrium eh? I'll be compiling a "supplies recieved" report vs "completion" report shortly and handing it to Rattler. We are suffering but we should be getting there. The report should help analyze things. RP OFF ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  16. Heck, we ought to be able to. (err joking) [rp] I wish you'd get done with those things. You're running my supply ships ragged. I've had to commandeer several shuttles from fully operational BC's just to run tools to those guys. Plus we've put a couple MK-1's back into service that were about to be mothballed. Those were saved from the scrap pile to take the load off the LRT-10's and MRT-15's we have running all over the place. Good command positions for officers in training I suppose but sheesh at the strain on our resources. How are we supposed to pay for all this? With the Iridium we mine from that big chunk of rock you picked out? Give me a break. I've had shuttles packed to the rafters come in with a cargo pod In TOW just for a few extra bucks. And the Purchase Orders? Oh man what a headache keeping up with them all. We are starting to confuse even the Zelons. Hope they are done soon. Chavik [/rp] Hehe, sorry Rattler, just had to. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  17. Whoa guys. Be careful with this "treaty" thing. You are writing something into the BC3K universe that was not there to begin with and as such you could (nope, it will not be allowed) radically change the BC3K universe. This will not happen. No one will change/add/modify the BC3K universe without Derek's express permission. That fact has been explained explicitly many times. Continue the banter without mention of unauthorized treaties please. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  18. 5-6 days and counting. Looking forward to this again. Rattler is a wonderful host and Snafu is just a doll. Maybe I'll finish that roll of film this time. Charles
  19. Happy Birthday guy, been a little while hasn't it? ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  20. Derek changed the fuel usage model. Yes they use much more fuel now. I used to have a post in Tips and Tricks about how to immediately upgrade. Basically sell everything you don't want and you should have enough to buy a couple engine/reactor combo's that should save you some fuel. Derek, could you restore the Tips and Tricks? There was some good info in there. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  21. [semi RP] We do have a tight structure. Not because of some gun's a'blazing all flags flying commander but because we believe[/] in our cause. We should not have an open, easily read structure. We are tight because we beleive in our cause. We have a tight structure but's let's not advertise it and open it up for anyone and everyone to take a potshot and shut it down. {g} ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  22. quote:Ok, how about another. Who would you class as a real *character* on the forum, and why? What makes them this way? Bad Mojo, cause he loves to ram things. (whatever happened to him BTW?) Parias and SpacePhish just because the way they are. You of course. Why? Just on account. I know you that way. What makes you that way? I can just feel it. hehe. Good hearted Rivalry is good. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
  23. {RP} Is it trying to convince the general population that what the UFN and Galcom is doing for them is for the best? They know better. Most of them. They want to know better. They need and want to know better and to beleive it in their hearts. We provide that and we are correct. I'm sorry but the UFN is on it's last leg. {/RP} I Forgot the RP tags for a sec. This IS RP. be sure to include the tags. ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes" [This message has been edited by Charles Lindsey (edited 05-16-2000).]
  24. Got my pencils and Ballots ready. The pencils are for erasures on the ballots cause I can't draw. . All for a crest now that we are on the same page. Now is this for the entire fleet? Or specific stations? ------------------ Commander Chavik Spectre Fleet ICV Phoenix Official BC3K Tester "We Shall Arise From The Ashes"
