I've printed the one from UC on glossy photo paper and it looks excellent. Not large but much clearer than standard paper. Not saying that I wouldn't want a map and manual, no, no. Sheesh, almost didn't get to edit this in time. Didn't want anyone to think I was voting against those extras. Definitely willing to pay. Any of us hard core types would.

New "key" mandatory in Windows for updates
teknocack replied to jamotto's topic in Science, Technology & Health
The assumption is not if Microsoft will use the information in a manner inconsistent with company policies, but rather will someone abuse that information. Maybe if they didn't charge $100, or $200 for copies, piracy wouldn't be so rampant. I have a legit copy myself, but there was a time when I was stuck with that pos Me and no funds to get XP. Thanks Bill. Frankly, I'm glad someone cracked it. I wonder if OS X or whatever they end up calling it, will be the same when it is released for PCs. Hope not. -
Way to go Prez, get 'em hooked early!

Damn straight. Good bit of news to start my day! -
Thank god that once in a blue moon our elected officials actually use their brains.

Really, I'm not crazy. *twitch twitch* Just cuz my mother and father were brother and sister doesn't bother me *twitch* bother me *twitch* bother me. Since I have Firefox I can set several home pages and 3000AD is one of them.

Strange, I haven't seen it so I have no right to judge it, and neither do you Hellbinder until you watch it.

Both of you are saying the same thing. Fulfillment is where you find it. Pretty much anything can be fulfilling as long as it is not outright damaging to you. Your right DeepFreeze, this thread has been hijacked and we should give it back.
-
DeepFreeze, I'm with you brother. You seem balanced. Just remember that we need extremists like Hellbinder and those on the other end of the pendulum swing to define the arguments that you and I will find the answers to. They are as necessary as you and I and we should not take their unbridled emotion personally. Someone I once knew said that there will always be a certain amount of suffering and evil in the world, and that's ok. I would add that there would be no good or pleasure without the other side of the coin to define them. Keep peace among you brothers and sisters because Hellbinder is right about one thing.....the real enemy is out there. Note the extremes but keep the balance, for it is the only real truth .

Alright, I've been told that it's alright to be a fanboy here (fanman just doesn't sound right ) because I'm in good company, so I'm curious: Who has 3000AD.com as their home page?

Yeah, with UCAWA next week and UCG coming up, yer gonna be busy. Don't worry, I'll take notes if you want.

Thank the gods we aren't the only ones! -
Yes!!! 'Nuff said!

Cripes!! Get a good game first before you think about a movie. I'm finding all kinds of crap to be mad about today.

The Hot Coffee mod was a violation of the EULA and this person who at 85 should be able to think like an adult and obviously doesn't, bought a game that was already unsuitable for her grandchild. Now she complains because it's a little more unsuitable than she thought it was??? Someone please tell me why we are the only ones who are using our brains on this! Can we sue her for ignorance? Maybe Child Protective Services should be called in to investigate whether she should be buying video games for her grandson anyway. What about the kids parents? Where are they? Hold them responsible also. This lady is not the victim, her grandson is and SHE made this so! Dammit, I wish I could call her and give her a piece of my mind, but I'm not sure she would understand because she can't even read the bold, black MA-17 rating symbol. quote:Originally posted by Cmdr Chavik: Work retail. Witness it first hand. I'm with you brother, and know whereof you speak. Sometimes I think that the world is full of mostly dumbasses and only a few actual smart and thoughtful people. Damn, I'm mad about this! *deep breath* Rant over.

ESRB gets hot and steamy over GTA San Andreas
teknocack replied to Raziel's topic in PC Gaming & Technology
It's just going to have to run it's course. I think many of us are going to be unhappy with the results. -
I was too poor for an Amiga. *sigh* I got to play one of my friend's C64 though. My life probably would have been different if I had gotten one. I went the console route for awhile before I got back into computers with a 386SX-16. Man, I thought that thing was screamin'. Should have learned programming. I could have made some excellent games. Sorry to drift off topic SC but BC3K and it's iterations were the kind of games I dreamed about as kid playing atari, or SMS. Often I would think to myself: If they could only take this shooter, this racing game, this action platform game, and this strategy game and put them all together into one uber game. That would be cool. Anyway, thanks for the games.

All pretty good choices. I don't know if he'd be the best but I'd love to see Michael Dorn return to tv. You've got to give him props for conveying so much through that Klingon make-up. Methinks I detect a wee bit of sarcasm from you Hellbinder. quote:Originally posted by Grayfox: i know! we need snoop! snoop would be the shizzzzzzzzzzznyte as blade. "guess whos back in the mutha$%@# house with a fat blade for yo mutha%$#&@ meouf" I don't care who you are, that was funny!

Yeah. I'd love to comment more but I don't want to ruin it for everyone else.

Absolutely Race. This damn show has had me on the edge of my seat since the mini-series (although I thought it was insulting to call 2 2-hour shows a mini-series but considering how they've delivered I'll forgive). I think I'll be a little contrary to SC when I say that I think the drama and subplots are what elevate it from the original. BTW, I'm not slamming the original, I enjoyed it very much. I just don't think I would enjoy the new one as much as I do if it were just a carbon copy of the old with new effects. Speaking of effects though. Do the special effects shots seem as cool to you as me? The quick pans and zooms, and the shaky camera? I really think that adds to the realism of the exterior shots, particularly during combat.

LMFAO!! You suck!!

quote: quote: They should get the dude from the Highlander series.. Adrian Paul.im glad you dont make movies or tv shows. LMAO! Good point Fox. Jeez, Adrian Paul may have had the moves but he was severely lacking in charisma. I think producers and/or casting directors need to realize that good looks do not automatically mean a compelling presence on the screen. Look at Christopher Lambert. He's not model material (just comparing from what standard model fare is, and I know I am opening myself up to a little ribbing and questioning of my sexual orientation. So be it.) but ask any woman and she will probably tell you that he has a mountain of charisma. The accent doesn't hurt I'm sure. All right, the friendly (I hope) jokes may now commence.

Jack Thompons gets hot and steamy over The Sims 2

So, BE POLITE! Engage him in ideas, as you WILL win since his position is not grounded in fact. I did just that and posted the excerpt in the thread about GTA. His response: Well, he (maybe some lackey) replied but, said nothing. Strange. I mean there was nothing written in the reply. Why take the time to reply to email that you aren't going to actually reply to. As I indicated in my missive to him, I believe him to be doing these things for self serving reasons only. -

Yeah!! This is just what this topic needs, some humor. I think I'll take off my shorts now.
