Rattler, Actually what I had in mind, and I should have clarified it more, about the Insurgents coming into the role play was that a planet or a system near Sol would come into Insurgent control that would put pressure on GALCOM to deal with the Insurgents. I would never put the Insurgents in a no win role play scenario. I think that having the Insurgents in close proximity to SOL would make it more intriguing politicaly and militarily to have to deal with the Insurgents close by and the GAmmulans. It would kind of be like the US and Cuba and the Soviet Union during the Cold War, with Cuba being close by to the US and the Soviet Union being the enemy at a distance, like the Gammulans. That is my idea, I should have clarified it better. I would want the role play to be fun for all involved. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. WOW!! Great Idea!!! We could bring EarthCOM into the role play too since they cover Earth space. That could allow an Insurgent entrance also, maybe they could be behind it. Any of you Insurgents have any ideas on the matter? All of the ISS personnel let's start thinking up a general plot to it here and everyone can add their $.02 worth to it. I would like for it to somewhat of a sub plot to what Gallion has been working on with the Wraith Massacre Maybe the ISS is occupied with the mole hunt scenario which leads it to this Sol city uprising. If you have ideas for the ISS to role play in, post them here and we can work on it for the RPG or just email me. SC, I have worked on some ISS Fleet Medals that I would like to send you for your approval. These medals are only for ISS Fleet use and would not substitute any of the official GALCOM medals. Let me know if you would like to see them. Also, some of the people have been awarded GALCOM medals from rpg missions. DeSylva had put some people in for medals and I believed he had sought your approval and obtained it for those awards. I got the problem fixed. It was because of the Internet Exporler browser that was causing the problem. I talked with our Internet Tech here at work and we took a look at the problem and he said it might be the fact that when you hit submit it send out a long string of information, and for some reason the browser didn't acknowledge this long string and it was timing out. To get around this I installed Netscape Navigator and have had no problems. It might have been our network software that caused that limitation. Anyway, it's working. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. I think Wing Commander would be a correct designation, it is not a rank but a duty position. Like in the navy, the captain of a vessel does not necessarily hold the rank of captain. On certain vessels, the CO might be a commander or even a Lt. Commander, but he is stilled called "Captain" due to his duty position. So even though a commander is called Wing Commander, it doesn't mean he holds a higher rank, it is just his duty position title. ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. In the US Army they differentiate between staff and command responsibilites of the same rank by putting either "Staff" or "Command" in front of it. Like Sergeant Major is the highest enlisted rank. There are 3 types of Sergeant Major: Staff Sergeant Major, which serves on a staff but no command responsibility, a Command Sergeant Major, which has command responsibility as the highest enlisted soldier in a type of unit, and the final type is the Sergeant Major of the Army, there is only one and he/she is the highest enlisted soldier in the US Army. Maybe we can come up with a designation like that for the various duty positions, like :Staff Commander and Nova Commander (or Star Commander) to make it a more general term to be applicable to all instances, anyway just a suggestion ------------------ Fleet Cmdr. To add to what Josh said earlier, the ISS also has the CIOPS wing, which stands for Central Intelligence OPerations. We handle all covert intelligence operations everywhere outside Earth space. I don't know if you remember the files I sent to you about the medals and ribbons and the rank picture files, I was wondering did you ever use them in anything? One other thing, I see in the fleet database there is a custom medal area. Does this mean that the fleet commander can create Fleet Medals? I agree Josh, I was just putting him in Intel Wing because they have no one besides Jamont to run the wing.
